As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Friday -
Today was my Animal Kingdom day well Morning Day - Animal Kingdom is a half day for me ..
I Took advantage of the EMH and got to AK around 8:15am I walked to expedition Everest and just walked through the que line no wait!!! I love EMH after everest I took went to dino land - I wanted to ride dinosaur .. it was broken in may when I went apparently a dino got out and took over the ride they were trying to get the dino back .. I love when cast members say those things. Again this was a walk through the que line no wait!!! . After here I decided to head to the train to check out Rafiki’s Planet Watch (Thank you LaurieP) I don't know why I have never explored this part of animal kingdom before however I still had some time before the train was due to depart so I decided to take a safari! the giraffes were so close to our truck. It looked like they were coming out from "backstage" area.
another picture from the safari -
I love this picture of the lion - it looks like he is smiling for the camera
after the safari I waited a few minutes and boarded the train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch since this was new to me I took my time and walked through .. apparently I wasn't the only newbie . A lady asked me what to do here I told her this was my first time and I wasn't sure.. someone over heard and told her this is the coolest place ever!!! they perform operations you can watch!!! so guess where we all went to first .. the window. I am happy to report (lauriep this is for you) there were 2 visits today .. A bird.. they were checking on him he was not acting like himself - if I recall there were some flying issues he wasn't as active as he had been and they wanted to check him out.. They gave him a xray and took a sample of blood and did a look over of him.
this is the picture where one of the kids yelled out its dead! but the bird was under anesthesia while getting the x Ray. and they are waking him up!
the next patient was a ferret - I don't recall what he was there for I think it was a check up but not 100%. I didn't stay to watch this procedure because nature was calling
after my trip to the rest room Rafiki was out standing by himself. It seemed as though no one wanted a picture with him. His handler asked if I wanted a picture so and a line started to form..
I went and looked around at the different displays and went to the petting zoo I did not go and pet the animals I sat for a few and watched some of the kids petting them. I didn't one to seem weird and take pictures of other peoples kids but I have to say watching them pet the animals in fun! one girl was going around kissing all the goats and one gave her one big kiss back!
After awhile I noticed the place was getting crowded so that was my que to go..
my next stop was the lion king show. I was cutting it close and because the show was just starting and it was standing room only .. I decide to stay and stand I made my exit toward the end you know when the show's about to end..
next was finding nemo the musical.. this is one of my favorite shows! I got a seat in the middle section by the walkway SPOILER ALERT!!!! and got to see some of the characters up front during certain parts of the show..
After finding nemo I just walked around for a bit ..it was around 1pm I decided to go back to the hotel and have lunch and take a break.. I was happy I got to see my favorite show and discover something new .. Thank you LaurieP!!!
After my break I decided to go to Epcot - it was the start of food and wine and I wanted to get my passport and start my stamps. As a annual pass holder if you get 3 stamps technically 2 and the 3rd is when you turn in your sheet you get a free wine glass. see picture here http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/wp-con...val_15-001.png
I got stamp one then decided I would walk around the world for a bit.. I decided that I would need to come back another day .. it was really crowded.
I decided to take a cab and go to Walmart - long story short my hubs was going to drive down but then decided not to so I did not want to keep spending $ on food.. So I picked up bread for sandwiches peanut butter and jelly and some quick meals that i could microwave at the food court before heading back to a park and of course some snacks and drinks!!! I also bought a poncho $3 It really came in handy (I did not realize how raining Florida was in Sept..)
Up next Hollywood studios!
Thanks for reading along I hope I'm not too boring
I'm glad you enjoyed Rafiki's Planet Watch. It's so easy to miss with the train journey over there (and we're guilty of that on occasions) but it's so much fun when you get there.
Thanks for the vet window photos, Bee! It's nice to see my favorite place in someone else's report. Glad you got to visit Rafiki's. EMH mornings are wonderful at AK. Time to wander with no crowds and it seems like there's so much time before the first train departs to Conservation Station. I love watching the kids in the Affection Section also. It's so nice that they don't allow feeding the animals. At a lot of zoos, you can buy food to feed the goats and then the goats are only interested if you have food. The Disney goats know all they're going to get is pats and kisses, and they seem to love it!

Friday was my Hollywood studios day! It was also a rain day!
Glad there is a lot to do inside here!
I had afternoon fast pass for star tours, toy story and the frozen show
I really didn't want to wake up after being out late the next day but I managed to get to the park around 9ish.
My first fast pass was to Toy Story the family in front of me had someone who required assistance and when it was my turn to tell the CM how many I said one he told me to follow them! so off I went to load with them I am familiar with the handicap loading as traveling with my parents so off I went but then realized I would have to be part of their family! Thankfully they didn't mind and I road with "dad" I told him who ever got the lowest score has to buy the mickey bars ... but didn't realize it was his first time so I let him slide! I did get a high score I was 199,870 The high score for the day so far was 200,000 something .. I was close!!!!
after toy story I walked around a bit and walked to see the little mermaid! I love this show... after that then off to see how long the wait was for the tower of terror and rockin roller coaster ..But opted out of riding the waits were over 60 mins. and my wait time limit is 30! I looked at the time and well the beauty and beast show was due to open soon so I decided to wait for it. NOTE : Fast pass is for the left and middle section . they open the right side for the regular line and left for fast pass. and right before the show they open the middle section and told people they could sit wherever they wanted. because I was solo I went down to sit on the left side but was quickly told that I needed to move. apparently gmom was saving seats for her daughter and when I told her I would move down she told me NO they had the whole row... I just walked to the next row. and sat behind them. I wasn't going to let Gmom yelling at me get to me. I wished I would of told her not to yell ... but I felt like it might of become a confirmation she looked miserable. But when her daughter came with the kids I'm assuming they needed a potty break they moved to the middle. I stayed put I was happy with my seat on the end.. after the show broke I stayed while the crowd let out.... a few people sat back down and a couple sat near me saying I had the right idea.
The great movie ride was next on my agenda so off I went ... the wait was 30 minutes but I didn't mind you know why AC!!! even though it was raining it was hot! it didn't seem like 30 minutes before we were off to see the movies. I like how they added some new movies in the line que just before the ride and I like how its automated and less talk from the drivers ... sometimes I don't understand what they are saying and can't hear them.. I do like the 2 parts where the drivers interact with the sets..
I did see the muppet movie and got a picture with my "cars" as my nephew says. I was going to see the motor lights action (not sure if I got the name right) but since it was raining I didn't think they would have a show.
I roamed around a bit then decided to go back to the hotel and rest for a bit I wasn't sure if I would be back because the rain was really coming down!
