Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Talked to my DDad last night. Susie is doing AWESOME! Apparently she is not scratching AT ALL!!! And she is loving her fishy diet!! This is just a relief.

I offered to go pick up more canned salmon dog food, but luckily DDad found it at the Animal Food Warehouse he normally goes to, so that's covered.

I sure hope this does the trick. Figure I will keep track of how many pills of Apoquel she has left and make sure to get over to the vet and pick up the refill before she runs out!! Don't want us back in the itchy boat again!

Hope Molly is doing as good!!

So glad to hear Susie is doing so well. Surprisingly how much dogs like the fish diet. Our local pet training location sells whole freeze dried salmon & whitefish fillets - some are huge but they make a great healthy treat for our allergic friends. congrats that things are going so well. We hate the itches.

I got a month's supply so am good for awhile and thanks for asking about Molly like Susie she is doing well I haven't seen her scratch or lick her paws so am loving it just like Molly and Susie are as well. :-)

Come summer, Susie will probably get treats of fresh salmon, like right out of the river fresh!! DDad takes her with him when he goes to a buddy's house down on the Kenai to go salmon fishing!!!

We were lucky that when it first came out we got into an automatic buying/shipping allotment. Our drug company rep has told us that they've increased production so hopefully all vets will be able to have a good supply in the future!

Jennifer, I'm glad to hear that Susie is doing so well on her medications!

Meant to post sooner, but I completely forgot!

DS and I went out to DDad's house on Sunday with the express purpose of giving Miss Susie a bath.

She is doing AWESOME!!! She is back to her old frisky self. She isn't scratching at all. There isn't little bits of black fur all over the carpet. She is actually eating better than she did before.

We are just sooooo happy to see this amazing improvement.

Hope that Molly is doing as good!!

Hi Jennifer
Am so glad that Susie is doing so well. And so is Molly so am very happy that both are back to their old selves in such a short time. I don't know much about Alaska weather but where I am the pollen levels are extremely high for the next couple of days so am so glad Molly is on Apoquel.
Again thanks for asking about Molly..and glad our doggies can be very happy and playing without all that itching, shedding and licking their paws.

Pollen isn't too bad yet. Most of the trees are still just starting to get good and sprouted. It will start to get worse in a few weeks. The grass is the main problem, but with the Apoquel, she doesn't seem fazed by it. However, we aren't sure exactly what she is allergic to. We are up to about 17 hours of daylight and gaining more each day, so Susie is wanting to spend a lot of time out on the porch, "protecting her domain." We are continuing to watch her closely and I'm keeping an extra eye on her sister, Abby, but all is going great!!

Wow 17 hours of daylight...I don't know I could live there as we have room darkening shades and as soon as it gets light my eyes open. So I would me walking around like a zombie.
So darn cute protecting her domain. Dogs are way to funny and that is one of the reasons that they are so important to us...please their unconditional love..there is nothing better...and so fortunate to have them part of our lives.
And yes keep an eye on Abby.

So Susie has been on her meds and new diet for about a month and a half now.

She is doing AWESOME!!! Her hair is coming back in, still a little thin, but I'm sure it will thicken up. She doesn't scratch or lick like she was. No more hair coming out in little clumps. And she is frisky as all get out!!

DDad comes home Wednesday and I'll be happy to give him back his little girl in much better shape than she was when he left on vacation.

Found some yogurt "chips" that she and Abby just love. They are strawberry flavored...at least that's what the package says, I have not tested them to see if they truly taste like strawberries, but the girls love them.

Susie is back to being all silly and playful. We also had DNiece's dog, Indi, for about two weeks. With all three of them, it was quite entertaining. They played tug-a-war and keep away (from us and each other) as well as chase the cat (that didn't go over so good with Zeke, although BC didn't mind too much).

Susie had a couple of baths while staying with us. I can tell when she is due...her fur starts to get a little dull. She seems to need them about every two weeks, so that should be manageable.

Thank you modern medicine!! Don't know what we would have done for her otherwise!!!!

Hope Miss Molly is still doing good too!!!

Glad to hear about Susie's great progress. Sounds like you were running a small doggy daycare there for a few weeks. What we do for our furry friends. Hope your Dad can keep things under control with Susie so she doesn't take any steps backward. My only caution for you is to beware of the season changes. With my Sheltie that is when we saw the most issues. Once the season/weather settled in we were good again, but those few weeks were awful for everyone.

Wow this is weird because this morning I was just thinking and wondering about how Susie is doing. Am so glad to hear she is doing so much better. And thanks for asking about Molly as she is doing so much better as well. Don't know what I would do with her apoquel because the pollen is so bad now that am about living on allergy pills as well. She does on occasion scratch and lick her front paw but that is only once in awhile so am very happy and so is she.
Again so glad that Susie is doing well and that her hair is growing back..slowly but still growing back.
Nice to know that both are much better and again thanks for asking about Molly.
