As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I don't know that having a Cricut is important, but it is one of my favorite scrapbooking tools. I love to embellish my pages, and cutting out die cuts on my Cricut allows for more flexibility and creativity. I can make letters for titles using one of the font cartridges in any size or color that I want. I love to work on my WDW albums, so having the WDW character cartridges lets me create the characters I want in whatever size or shape that I need. The downside is the cost. There is the cost of the machine in addition to the cost of the cartridges. However, I tend to buy my cartridges on eBay where I get much better deals than buying retail. This has allowed me to buy more of the cartridges that I want. I like all the cartridges that I have, and I do use it a lot. So for me it is definitely worth it. Even DBF who doesn't get into scrapbooking thinks that the Cricut is a really cool machine! He also likes my Crop-a-Dile Big Bite hole punch!

I love my Cricut for the alphabets. No more sheets with lots of letters, but no more "e"s -- no more leftover X's that I can't figure out what to do with!
And I can make my page title in the right color to match my background or my photo mats.
I do know what you mean about the sheets of Alphabets and Numbers. Just starting and I have had to buy more sheets than I care too!!!! The Cricut will be on my Christmas List!!!!!!... for the information.
I have just started Scrapbooking and totally enjoy it. Could someone explain why having a Cricut is important? I have been buying my supplies from Hobby Lobby using the 40% off coupons on my big purchases and using the discount counter supplies as much as I can. If I can save money and something could make my new hobby easier I am all for it!!!!
On cricut researching prices is important. It is a good time of year to get into cricut as there are many good sales. Hobby Lobby is awesome for everything scrapbooking except IMO cricut. OH My Crafts.com is where I get 90% of my cartridges these days - Sign up for email and get codes to save 10% and 20%. I recently bought Robotz, Create a Critter, Toy Story, and 2 cuttlebug dies for $75. At Hobby Lobbys sale prices that would have been $160! Like all the stickers and 3D embellishments at Hobby Lobby? Cricut lets you cut your own. The expression machine will cut a Mickey Mouse like 18 to 20 inches tall. Want to cut out a sleeping beauty? A Buzz? A teacup for teacups? You can do it over and over in whatever color paper you want (chipboard if you have deep cut blade, fabric if you iron it to stabilizer). I wish I would have known about the cricut before I bought stickers and embellishments - I would have saved a fortune - even with sales....

I can't imagine going back to letter stickers!! With a cricut you can choose your font, paper, and size to make your letters fit your layouts perfectly! The different designs and accents are just icing on the cake, but I couldn't do titles without my cricut!

Thats what my scrapper friends do, they make comments about how many I have but sure do miss me when I cant come.
