Prickle Pants, Pinky and the Brain, Party in the World - Live Trip Updates 12/3/10 - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great update Cassie! How lucky to stay in AKL! I was hoping to do one night there on this next trip, but I just couldn't justify the money, so we are staying at the POP the whole time. Which btw is my favorite resort, I don't care that it's value, LOL.
I am hoping sometime when DH and I go alone to stay at the Poly, my dream resort.
In 2012, I am somewhat planning a solo trip, to meet up with 3 (DisneyDana, Ashli, and TheMadonna3) PP girlfriends, we are probably going to stay in DVC. Maria and Ashli would like to stay at the BW. We are throwing around ideas now. So we have lots of time to plan. I can't wait!
In my family we have nicknames sort of, DH calls me honey, I call him honey, nothing special there. I call my DD Miss and DH calls her Pean, short for Peanut. I however never switch her nickname, okay sometimes I do call her Miss (insert name here), well not since she was a baby. I use to call her Baby Girl, but soon I had to stop bc she was growing and I didn't want to confuse her and tell her she was a big girl and then call her baby girl. So I decided I would call her the nickname that seemed to come out naturally. It ended up being Miss. It's funny when we are at stores and I call her and say "Miss" if a woman is around the area she always turns and looks at me thinking I was saying something to her! LOL
PS...I have to add again, Lily is sooooo cute! I just love her smile, she looks a whole lot like you! I imagine you to look identical to her when you were a kid. Did you? Love her hairbows in all the pics too!! Way cute.
Yes, Lily looks just like me, sometimes if we look at pics its hard to tell the difference except by clothes! Well, she doesn't have my dimples though. I also look like my Mom, dimples and all! Thanks about the hairbows, my neighbor makes them and they are one of a kind! We actually planned the one set of bows to match every single outfit we packed!

I am so excited to stay at AKL, I know I will love it and all that Lily can talk about is seeing giraffes out of the window.
Okay, no real update tonight, but I'd like to explain my signature pic if you didn't read my last trip report. You see, Lily was seeing the characters again and we were at Epcot, she only wanted to see Pluto but figured she was there she'll see all of the characters. . .So, I'm trading pins with a cast member and all of a sudden I see Donald running right towards me, I start cracking up, I totally can't figure out why this is happening. I was seriously clueless! Donald kisses me and hugs me and makes us have several pictures together. I think you can probably tell by Lily's face that she can't believe what is happening either. So after I was smooched and hugged and loved by Donald we headed back to our resort, I was still perplexed!
We got back to the room and I was telling the story to Pat, he says well silly of course he attacked you, look down you are wearing his shirt.
Seriously duh moment, of course!
But, I've decided, I kind of like Donald! He does remind me of DH, a little hot headed but really just full of hot air!
I hope that you and your family have a magical time at the world

Since, I got an amazing rate on our room I decided to go with the Dining Plan. We've always done so much better with pre paid. We tend to not spend so much. So, it seemed like a no brainer really. So, I started making ADR's. I got a night at Cali Gril and an ADR at Teppan Edo, and Yachtsman's Steakhouse. (Now please don't congratulate me on these ADR's because I actually no longer have any of these reservations). When I started making ADR's I decided that there was no way that I could only have 7 Table Service meals on this trip. We are kind of foodies.
So, what's a girl to do, upgrade to Deluxe Dining of course! I called and got a quote an almost balked at the increase but, it's only money right? I've got a good job. . . but for how long?
Funny Donald story! I was never a huge Donald fan, but will admit after meeting him in person, LOL, I have liked him much better. He was my DD favorite last year. Which is awesome, bc I was worried. A male friends of ours hates Donald Duck and told my DD if you see D.Duck kick him for me. I yelled at this friend, don't tell my DD to kick people at WDW!!!! What is wrong with you dude??!!!?? So I ws really nervous about DD meeting him, as you can imagine. DD never kicked him though, she liked him best and some of my best pics from that trip are with her and Donald.
BTW....I love the dining plan. I have used the DxDP the last couple years, but next year we are going with the regular. It was a $400 difference between the 2 and I know I will not spend $400 above the regular plan, so I decided to give it a go. So far the only planned spent money is $126 for CRT. That's a whole lot less than $400!
Hello fellow Scorpio! My DH was born on the 9th and I am on the 11th of Nov. He is officially 2 days older then me so for those 2 days I give him a hard time about being so old... 43 this year. LOL
Your plans sound great so far. I can't wait to hear more.

Someone told Lily to pinch Goofy before our cruise when she was 5, give me a break, don't tell a kid that, they will do it!
