Destination Disney Vacation~A PTR for our Fall Trip:O) - UPDATED 10/01 - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
I would definitely go ahead and preorder the cd. If you don't think you have enough pictures to make it worth while you can always cancel it and get a refund...
I know we will be doing Photopass of some sort, though I'm not settled on what yet. Because of this, I know I want to do some of the enhancement pics that photopass people can do around the "World". I have printed off a 'cheat sheet' of sorts from stitch kingdom (I did this on our last trip as well but we did'nt get all the magic shots I wanted), and plan on getting a fair few this trip, with the Capt. Hook one being at the forefront .
It's a mighty bit early for me to know/plan where we will be and on what day, but I do have a list of "Must do's" for us already. I also have the EMH for the duration of our stay printed out & plan on using that to figure up our evenings or early morning's a bit. We are more of the "Night owl" type's as opposed to the "Early bird's", but may do a couple early morning park visits, like to MK for the Morning grand opening's. I did this alone last trip(walked over to MK one morning from the CR), & it was super cute! I would like to share it with my DH! The list I have made out consists mostly of things DH & I have not yet seen due to our small children getting too tired mid-day or things we just have not been able to ride together as a couple.
~I do want to share with you our "Must do's/see's" for our vacation this October 3-8. This tentative list is as follows:
Magic Kingdom:
*Magic carpets of Aladdin (DH never rode B-4)
*Splash Mtn.
*Hall of Presidents (Never seen b-4)
*Liberty Square riverboat (never ridden b 4)
*Haunted Mansion
*Peter pan's flight (If not packed out)
*Mickey's Philharmagic (never seen before)
*Fairy tale garden (never seen before & want the char. pics)
*Dumbo (Hope to catch this during Wishes)
*Mad tea party
*Indy speedway
*Space Mtn.
*Astro orbiter (never rode this b-4, can never find the line?)
*Transit Authority (DH never rode before)
*Space ranger spin (like, two times)
*Carousel of progress (never seen before)
I also plan to eat lunch at Casey's during the mainstreet parade & let me DH (finally) grab a much desired funnel cake from Sleepy Hollow (he asks everytime & we are always too busy trying to get from point A to point B with kids) I also want to catch the Castle stage show & stand in lines to get TONS of autographs (Ahem....for the kids)
Hollywood Studios:
Now, don't get me wrong, I appreciate HS more everytime we go there, but for some reason, it's just on the bottom of my list as far as parks go. The problem, i think, is that evertime we go, we hang out in the Star wars area and ride Star Tours (A really boring ride, if I may say so) & have to shop in the star wars gift shop 3-6 times while we are there for my 5 year old. Which, yes, that's very cute, but it can & does get a little boring for mom (though, I never let him know that, even though we may be just getting off TOT or about to walk out of the park and he'll say "Can we go back to the star wars gift shop? I just need one more thing!). Or like with my DD7 we have watch HSM stage show everytime it starts and we're near it. So, it will be interesting to go to HS & actually do some things this trip that I'm interested in
*The great movie ride (Never before)
*Indiana Jones show (Never before)
*Studio backlot tour (Never before)
*Toy story MANIA (yes! my fave ride DH has never ridden before)
*Voyage of the little mermaid (FINALLY!)
*Beauty and the beast (Never before)
*Rock n roller coaster (never ridden before)
*Fantasmic (still have never seen!)
*Maybe ride TOT again. I was'nt impressed with this ride last time)
So, as you can see, there's lots of ground to cover in HS. Glad we have PH!!
Animal Kingdom:
I love AK! Its just such a laid back atmosphere. I can't wait to grab a frozen chai tea and stroll around the park!!
*Its tough to be a bug (sitting further back this time)
*discovery island trails
*Festival of the lion king
*Kilimanjaro safari's
*Pangani forest exploration trails
*Jungle trek
*Kali river rapids
*Expedition everest
Have lunch at Flame Tree or Yak and Yeti. Which is best? I plan to get tons of autographs here as well!
EPCOT:
Okay, this needs to be said that EPCOT, which is one of my fave parks (since i was little) has not gotten much love from the Koop family. In '09, we only went for a few hours and that was to eat at Akershus which took too long and we got to ride Spaceship earth & it was really late so we left. Our Feb. '10 visit saw alot of rain and cold weather, so we missed our two EPCOT days in favor of letting the kids pick their fave parks on the days where the weather was actually halfway decent...EPCOT was not on their lists. But its on this girls list for our October '10 trip!! Lord, let their be great weather, please?! I've been so good this year! Here's my EPCOT wish list. Keep in mind, we have only ate AKERSHUS & rode Spaceship Earth in this park!!
* Mission Space
*Test track
*SOARIN' (I rode this in '01 in DL, Cant wait to ride it again, FINALLY)!
*Living with the land
*Journey with Figment
*Honey, i shrunk the audience
*Image works
from there, we will head into WORLD SHOWCASE
*Gran fiesta w/ 3 Cabelleros
*Maelstrom
*Reflections of China
*Impressions de France
~We are planning on hitting the F&WF Everyday, perhaps, while there. I plan to take a mighty long time enjoying the scenery & getting our pics taken in every country I can't wait to dine in France on our ANNIVERSARY celebration day!!!!
What's coming up in my next installment?? IDK But stay tuned
I would definitely go ahead and preorder the cd. If you don't think you have enough pictures to make it worth while you can always cancel it and get a refund...

Looks like most everyone votes CD! The CD is fun since you can customize the pics and then make your own memory book. I think I may want to do the private photo session @ Polynesian, too though. What do you guys think? Anyone know the price?

Thanks! So glad you stopped by!! Any pointers for SSR? View wise?
I was looking through my pictures from last trip, and decided to throw some out there for you guys See attached thumbnails
~the 1st one is stitch, the kids and I The next one is all of us in front of the castle
Also, has anyone reading this done the Wishes dessert party? It not slated for October, yet, but just in case there is an extension thru October, does anyone have any pointers or have been?
I reccommend the photo shoot at the Poly. We've done it before (I don't recall the price but I know we got a discount for pre-ordering the photopass CD). I was surprised at how many differnt areas of the resort we posed for pictures at.
