The "Shhh Don't tell the kids we're going to Disney to celebrate our first Anniversary" Trip Report -Updated 3/21 - Departure day! - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Woke up this morning well before 6 am. Soo excited to be here. Went outside for what has become my ritual morning walk when we come here. I just love to walk around POP in the morning with my mug full of coffee. Mmmmmmm! The sunrise was beautiful this morning:
It was however a bit chilly for Florida with temps in the low 50’s. Sent a few txt messages to a friend at work back in Michigan. My friend promptly shared with me it was 4 degrees. Ahhh life is good. Visited a few special landmarks at Pop the kids and I had some memories of. It’s great to be here but I miss those kids already. Back to the room with Breakfast for Liz. After breakfast I looked out the window and steam was still rising from the bowling pin pool. I saw that beautiful sight and I knew what I had to do! Put my bathing suit on and braved the 50-degree morning chill for a swim:
Had the whole pool to myself! On to MK where we promptly found a photo pass photographer on Main street.
Road Space Mountain first. Hadn’t been on it since the massive refurb last Summer. Must say we left thinking why it was down for so long. It looked like all they did was shut the lights out on the ride. The cars don’t even have that glowing stripe down them anymore. It was a bit of a letdown. After that we went to see Ariel because she is my Daughter Jordan’s favorite princess. Jordan wanted a picture of just Ariel sent to her phone. Here it was:
After that it was on to see Tink, the other fairies and the Princesses. I Just knew it would not be long before I would see my beloved Cinderella. J On the way to Toontown, Lady Trumaine and her two daughters were out and about. I swear that wicked stepmother picked me out from across the area we were in and just glared at me! I wonder if my Cinderella sweatshirt had anything to do with it?
Got right there when Toontown opened and got right in to see the fairies. Fawn was first and she was an absolute delight! Very perky and friendly.
She saw my necklace which had Cinderella sitting on a little ball that was like a bell. Fawn laughed and said “Don’t let Tinker bell see it. She’ll probably get her head stuck in it!” Ummm yea. Don’t think I’ll mention that to Tink, thank you very much.
Liz always gets such a delight out of Tink giving me a hard time and putting me in my place. Sighhh. So Tinkerbell was next. She gave Liz a few hugs which I know Liz just loved.
Then she told me she had a very ‘ahem’ special pose she only let a few people do with her for pictures. She had me hold my hands down with palms up, while her and Liz stood to one side looking at me. So like a lamb being led to the slaughter, I do it. This actual picture of me with my palms up is on our Photopass CD which has not yet arrived, so we will post it later. At this point Terrence runs over to us looks at me and says ‘Oh No Sparrow man! This is all wrong ! She‘s leading you astray! Only Girl fairies do palms up! Dudes go palms down all the time Sparrow man!”. Ahhh that darn little pixie got me again.
She glared at Terrence for his interruption then mumbled something to Liz I couldn’t quite hear. Or was she counting?? She tends to count a lot when I’m around, I think. But she winked at Liz and I know Liz enjoyed it so it was all good.
Liz had Tink sign the Pillowcase I made for her with Tink all over it, so Tink said, “Oh, he’s a Tinker too? “ Rather cute. Then it was on to Terrence who kept on calling me Sparrow man. Kind of ironic he would do this, as ‘Sparrow’ is what Liz has me named in her phone. She rather fancies me as her ‘Captain Jack’, I guess. J So Terrence and I discuss how in the movie they broke the precious moonstone that turned light from the Blue moon into Special Blue pixie dust. But they fashioned a scepter that made moonlight go through each piece of the broken moonstone making tons more blue pixie dust. I told him how I thought it was all his idea and Tink pretty much just rode on his coattails. Tink was over there mumbling again. ‘Or was it counting???” J
After this fun encounter it was off to the Princesses.! I was giddy with excitement to see my beloved Cinderella. J The line wasn’t too bad so we got in pretty quickly. I noticed Liz mentioned something to the CM at the door and they closed the door behind us after we were ushered in. Soon we got up to see her! I had her sign a piece of fabric I found that had her, Aurora, Bell, and Snow White on it. The plan being to get the princesses to sign it and frame it on our wall.
I also gave Cinderella a valentine, as it was only two weeks away from Valentine’s day. She smiled and told me it was her first! Yay!
She loved my Sweatshirt, and we chatted for a few minutes. I think she was rather impressed with me and really missed me since the last time we were here.
Then on to seet the other Princesses where I collected the appropriate signatures for my new wall hanging. Then after we saw the last one I noticed we were the only ones in the room. All the princesses were coming to me!!! Cinderella smiled at me and said: “Would you like a picture with all of us?” Oh my goodness!!! I don’t know how Liz pulled this one off but it was like a dream come true for me. Having all the Princesses pose with me like that was just a fantastic experience I will remember for a verrry long time. Thanks Liz!!
Got a Dole whip then back to the hotel for a swim and rest.
Had to txt the people back home to let them know we were outside and needed sunscreen! Snicker!!!
Then we went back to MK for the rest of the day. We rode Pirates, and Big Thunder Mountain then went back to check out the castle refurb work. They are really doing a good job hiding the work. The brick print on the scrim actually matches up to the brick on the castle.
Then we actually saw Peter Pan! Poor guy didn’t even have a photo pass photographer around him, and the line to see him was only 1 person long. He saw Tinker bells signature on Liz’s bag, and said/ “Oh, I see you’ve seen Tink. Sighhh I’ll tell you what about her she makes a movie or two on her own and it’s all Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell. Peter pan gets put on the back burner.” I told him I sympathize with you, my friend. Tink can be problematic at times! Peter Pan looked at me and in true Boy -who- never- grew- up fashion said ’I don’t know what all those big words mean’. He was great!
We made our way to the front of the park for Spectro Magic then had to make our dinner ADR at 1900 Park Faire to See my beloved Cinderella again. Spectro Magic was great. I love this parade, and was sorry to hear they’re not doing it in the Summer months this year in favor of a different parade. I hope it’s as good. Here’s my favorite part of the parade: J
Dinner at 1900 Park Faire was just a short Monorail ride away. Dinner was great as always. Liz had her picture taken with Prince Charming:
I got glares from Lady Trumaine as usual,
and had some interesting conversations with the stepsisters. One of them said she could do better than Prince Charming anyway. Said “His castle needs work. They’re working on it right now and it’s not really as big as it looks. I’ve seen it” Hmmmm perhaps a bit of a dual meaning there, Drucilla???
Anastasia wanted to hear about our experience with Tinkerbell. I told her how Terrence rescued me from an embarrassing spot. Maybe she could hook up with him??? J Anastasia looked me straight in the eye and told me she could never date a man this big, and put her thumb and index finger right in my face. Hmmmmm. I was definitely ready for Cinderella by this time. See how she's looking at me??
And then like an angel she shows up. I had her sign one of my favorite t-shirts and we chatted for a few minutes about how she helped me propose in this very same restaurant about a year ago. She was very elegant as always and we posed for a picture.
What a great day!!!
Tomorrow: Epcot and Akserhsus for dinner. And Cinderella is beginning to seek me out in a crowd!!
Stay tuned!
Brent

Soooo I really thought '50 degree boy' was kidding when he said...."come watch this".....usually that NEVER ends well.....FOR ANYBODY! So knowing there was bound to be a show I straggled out of my nice warm bed and scurried down to the pool with him......camera in hand!!!!! Here is how the elevator ride back to our room worked out for Mr. Chill! LOL
oohhh Tink, just gotta love that spunky lil Pixie! She gives my boy such a hard time.....And I love every minute of it!!! She was soooo setting him up in female fairy stance!......lovin it! It really kinda freaked me out when Terrance called Brent "Sparrow Man" tho....since I first started talking to Brent he has been "Sparrow" in my phone.....Now how the heck do you exlplain that one! And the counting thing.....oh yeah, she was counting.....fast and furrious! LOL
Oh and on to see the Princesses.!!!!! And actually when Cinderella was talking about "missing Brent" she was refering to security "missing him" last time he was there! LOL I so have the perfect picture to back that up when photopass gets here! LOL I was sure Brent knew something was up when they took us in last to see the princesses and shut those big heavy doors behind us! But luckily he was head over heels watching the lady in blue! It was a remarkable thing having that lil photo shoot and just the individual time with them all. They stood and chatted with us for a while. They even asked as we were leaving if there was anything else that we wanted while we had all of their attention.......out of the corner of my eye I seen Brent putting on chapstick and mummbleing something about kisses.....I was like "come on SparrowMan....!!!' LOL
Anastasia at 1900 Park Fare was sooooooo funny! She was sooooo putting on the flirt for Brent. Batting her great big eye lashes! And that comment about "could never date a man that big" about made me spit diet coke across the table! The redder Brents face got with embarassment the more I loved every minute of it!!!
The parade was beautiful.....tho I am excited to see what Disney has up their sleeves for the next one! I really enjoyed the one they have running now about "celebrate"...some great Miley music that gets you moving!
