As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

My policy on appropriate things is ,,,,, if you have to ask! Seriously, I love my "Shuck me, Suck Me, Eat me raw" shirt, from the Oyster festival, but I would not wear it to Disney. If I have to ask someone if a shirt is or isn't offensive in Disney, then the question is my answer. If I question it so would someone else, so why wear it.
Ok you're probably going to think I'm nuts and have way too much time on my hands, but I was so intrigued by what in the world "Toad Suck Daze" meant that I googled it. After seeing the explanation and seeing what the shirt looks like (if you are talking about the 2009 once), I honestly wouldn't have any problem wearing that or seeing it worn (even with DS (8) around) by someone else at Disney. It doesn't have anything remotely suggestive about it, and honestly, I don't really think "Toad Suck Daze" sounds bad, it just makes me wonder what it means. But that's just my opinion, and I guess I'm in the minority here.

I am with you. I googled it too and it just made me laugh...and I agree the shirt is cute. I would wear them. I would post a picture of the shirt and you may get different opinions.
I wouldn`t wear it - not because I find it offensive - not at all. However if a CM stopped me and asked me to change an item of clothing - it might spoil my day, depending on my mood and I certainly wouldn`t want to spoil a day at WDW
I have seen them ask a guest to turn shirts inside out or change, the shirt he had on shouldn't have been worn in public never mind to a theme park but some dress to shock (not saying your shirts are I also googled didn't think its a big deal) and I have seen people with shirts inside out walking the parks,
Here is Disneys Policy
Quote:
What is the best way to dress for a day at the parks? Is there any clothing that isn't permissible?
The parks are a casual, family-oriented environment. We suggest you dress comfortably, wear good walking shoes and check the local weather report before you leave for the parks.
Ensuring that the parks are family friendly is an important part of the Disney experience. In that spirit, we ask you to use your discretion and common sense. Attire that is not appropriate for the theme parks (and which may result in refusal of admittance) includes but is not limited to:
Adult costumes or clothing that can be viewed as representative of an actual Disney character
Masks (unless you are dressing up for a particular event)
Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics
Excessively torn clothing
Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment
Objectionable tattoos
A Guest is allowed into the parks if her or his hair (or make-up, if applicable) has been made to resemble a Disney Princess or character (for example, after a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeover) provided the Guest is not also wearing a costume or clothed to look like the character.

Count me as another one who googled it -- because I couldn't imagine why you would want to suck on toad. Imagine my surprise to learn that isn't the point.
Anyway, the shirts (2009 at least) are not nearly as offensive as what I was imagining in my own mind.

I'd be very surprised, based on the 2009 t-shirt logo, if anyone bothered you about your shirts. It's from a state/community function for heaven sakes. Having said that I tend to be surprised often. Is the name weird? yes, but I'm sure many states have some event that sounds weird if you're not familiar with it. After seeing them, if it were me I'd were them. but that decision is yours, and yours alone.

Totally agree here. There is NOTHING offensive about the words "Toad Suck Daze". There are no obscene words in that phrase, so IMHO I would wear it.
Unless someone had been to the festival, no one would even know what the shirts were from. The main thing I saw on them were the cute frogs. Never really looked at the words. In passing most people would only see the frogs, and they are cute. Go for it!

I think that I would wear it as it has no s*xual connatations (sorry I cant spell) and think of it as a bonus if I was FORCED to buy a Disney T Shirt!!!
As the the strapless yanking on the tops - I never look gracefull in Disney i would be more worried about falling out of it on RnR or EE

Do you have any idea how many times I have seen the FCUK shirts in those parks? To me, that's way worse on first glance than your cute little toads. If your kids are wearing them for crying out loud, I wouldn't worry about it. Disney CMs have MANY more fashion disasters that they should attend to!

I probably would leave it home myself, because it would really mess with my Disney high to be asked to change, but I wouldn't be offended if I saw someone wearing that shirt.
