As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Flight: Left buffalo at 12:00 and arrived in orlado 20 minutes early at 2:22. As usual we got lost finding DME it happens everytime I swear they move it when they know we are comeing....So the line for DME was much longer then it was for our 2006 trip BUUUUT because we were a party of 2 we got squeezed into a bus and only waited about 30 minutes which was still a lot compared to previous trips...but who really cares its prep for attraction line waitting...So when we got to POR we were delighted to find that we got all our requests...We got Oak Manor in Magnolia bend which was really pretty and we liked it a lot we'll definately stay here again...
So when the castmember told us the simpleist way to our room somewhere along the line we didnt get what he was saying and we go the grand tour of the resort....no fun haha it was hot and I learned to travel light from there forward But eventualy we did find our room then we were off to dinner at ......
Boatwrights- The food was soooo soooo soooo good DM got Prime rib with 3 cheese hashbrowns and I got fried chicken with mickey waffels which was very good but not as good as the prime rib
After dinner we took a nice walk around the resort since it had rained during dinner and had cooled down some what then we headed back to our room to get a goodnights sleep for MEMH at MK ........
Today we got up early and grabed a quick breakfast at the hotel I got a cinnamon roll and holy cow they are HUGE I was very surprized at there size but it was a nice surprize... DM got a chocolate crisaunt which she sticked with the whole trip. Then we were off to MK
When we got to MK it seemed like there was noone there which was cool we started in the back at the haunted mansion then we walked to the hall of presidents which didnt open yet so we went on snow white, pooh, and saw mickeys phillhhar magic which was realllllly loud like super duper loud then we went back to the hall of presidents which was cool it was the first time I had seen it plus it wasnt as loud as Phillhar magic then since the park was filling up we went back to the hotel as we were walking out we noticed alllll the peeple walking in since it was about 11 and we were glad we were leaving for lunch at the hotel we both had make your own pasta which was really yummy and you got alllllooooot then we went back to the hotel for our mid day nap.....
So after we were refreshed we were suposed to have ADRS somewhere I dont rember where now but we ended up not going because we both wanted to go back to Boatwrights oh I forgot to tell everyone how amazing the sweet tea is here omgosh its out of this world ! anyways
Dm- had the Filet with hashbrowns
Me- the prime rib was my new best friend along with the sweet tea we both had at least 3 refills of the sweet tea
Then we jumped on a bus to EPCOT for EMH and went on The seas with nemo and friends and then we saw Turtle talk with crush which is adorable I love the little kids their so funny ! then we went back to the hotel before everyone else did
Today we didnt really do to much...This trip we were determinded to make it as fun as it was relaxing and we had the time to do both...We had lunch at the hotel and then hung out by the pool for a while and then went to EPCOT for our adrs at the Coral Reef we had a pretty good view of the tank I still wish we got to sit next to it becuase we've never have sat off the highest level but oh well for dinner I had the Mahi Mahi which was delicious as always and DM had the Pork chop ...we both had the Chocolate wave for dessert....Now we had intended to walk around at least half of World Showcase but those plans changed when we walked out the doors and it was pouring a good old florida rain we tried to wait it out but it didnt stop so when it lightened up at least we power walked back to the buses and thank god we did because it rained the whole night so we jsut stayed in the room
Today we went to MK and walked around the shops and rode POTC which we practicaly walked on which was strange but lucky at the same time then we headed back to the hotel for lunch and a nap and the pool...Then we took the but to HS for our adr at Hollywood & Vine but when I got off the bus I realized that I left my room key in the room not cool so I turned around and got back on the bus to get my key and of course on the way back murphys law kicked in big time and the driver was being trained....it took me 40 minutes to get back to the hotel...not good at all ...but I ran to the room and got back to the bus stop in enough time to walk on to the next bus to HS I was very proud then we went to our adr even though we were realllllly late they understood and sat us anyways and we hardly had to wait the food was ok even though it wasnt as good as we had rembered but oh well...then we went through HS searching for a book for DM because she didnt pack enough and she reads to fast much to her dismay the book store was lame and didnt really have any mystery books but she setteled for some book to hold her over then we headed back to the hotel....

Today we got up semi early and made it to world showcase for EMH when it opened it was strange there was no one there at all haha everything was empty so it was a little boreing but it was neat to see it so empty. It was super duper hot this day so we stoped and sat at the one bench for awhile and had a water it was so quite we felt like the park was closed! After 3 hours we decided to go back to the hotel for lunch and sat around the pool and took our daily naps then we were off to DTD....
DTD: WE went to guest services to get moms Visa rewards points 50$ worth which was very nice and then we went to dinner at Cap n Jacks which was really yummy we sat right next to the window over the water it was really nice mom had the pork chop and I had the baked chicken with rice pilaf which was really good for dessert I had cholate cake and mom had key lime pie which she said was yummy. We decided we will definately go back it had a really nice atmosphere. Then we took the boat back to the hotel at got on the bus to MK.......
MK: We wanted to get good seats for the fireworks, but that didnt happen but thats ok after we sat for awhile we noticed how thirsty we were and mom really wanted a popcorn she had been asking the whole trip so I took the trek to the cart to get drinks and popcorn....While I was standing in line i mean the worst line ever it did not move one inch in 20 minutes !!!!! its was insanity!!!! but I did get the chance to talk with this great girl who was in front of me she was from the south I dont rember where but she was there with her daughter and her sister and her daughter who was sick in some way I cant rember now gosh darn it! but oh well she was a flight attendant and wow she had so many dicounts the trip only costed her 820$ for all of them ....wish I had those discounts!! anyways I talked to her for the 30 minutes we ended up in line...I just love how no matter who you are theres someone to talk to in Disney I love it everyone(for the most part) is so kind a nice to each other Ive met so many great people on all my trips and I think Ill rember them forever ! anyways I hardly got to see the fireworks and when I made it back to mom she thought I got lost haha anyways we had intended on leaving buuuuut aw we were walking I saw this AMAZING spot on the cirb to sit and watch the 2nd showing of spectro now im a spetro addict so I couldnt pass it up because I never got to sit close to this parade so I was very excited... I got awsome pics of the parade but ursala and the spectro men creep me out I dont know why there jus strange On the way out I grabed my pink mickey head anklet and some tinker earrings...the anklet broke when we got home but I still got the earrings!
