As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). Funny co-incidence but I've already sent an e-mail to a CSA type farm that delivers to the farmer's market here. Louisiana is NOT a great state for healthy foods. If you can fry it, sauce it or drench it in butter we'll eat it. Whole Foods is really our only reliable source of organics and I've heard people call it Whole Paycheck!
I made a vegetarian chili last night and it truned out pretty good. Even my die-hard meat and potatoes lovin', veggie hatin' hubby said so. I put my recipe on the What's for Dinner thread.
Trader Joe's is similar to Whole Foods and a bit more affordable. Right now I'm actually reading/looking at the pictures from Eat this not that supermarket survival guide. I had iron-deficiency anemia and my doctor gave me a rx to boost my levels. If your numbers are low just taking OTC may not be enough. Always check with your doctor. Once my levels were more on the normal size I started taking SlowFE.

Eating healthy definitely costs more, my oldest is a vegaterian but even with the chicken and turkey that me and the little one eat those vegatables and fruits cost a fortune...I have a decent vegatable store that is pretty good in price but even a weekly shopping trip is over $150 at the supermarket. I try to by certain things in bulk such as rice or pasta when it is on sale. I also find buying vegatables in portions saves me some as I buy specifically for certain dishes unlike when I used to buy a whole bunch and then figured out at the point what to cook...I usually wasted a lot.

Slow FE is an iron-deficiency supplement that you can purchase OTC and pharmacies, etc. Once I got my iron levels back on track, started eating breakfast more, taking time for myself to exercise, etc. I had more energy and felt better.

Same here. There are ways to save if you take the time to plan. I've been trying to do the same thing with pre-meal planning... still working on it. I definitely check the circulars online before I shop, especially with Whole Foods. And they have that bi-monthly or quarterly booklet with recipes and coupons. Oh and things like rice/pasta I buy from their bulk aisle--I get what I need but at bulk prices. I also have a foodsaver vacuum so certain items that I love that they don't always carry I portion it out and make it a couple of months down the line when I crave it.

an easy way I've found to lower my grocery shopping bills and eating healthier is to plan my menu weekly! I don't like to be rigid about, I like to play around a bit, but mostly, we know what we're having.
We also make lunch for school or work instead of going out. And I make 2 or 3 times a week vegetarian food. It doesn't have to be tofu or beans, but I try to cut even more on red meat...
here are some very popular vegetarian meal we have here: multi-veggie quiche (make 2 so you can froze one and goes very well with a nice crunchy green salad) Minestrone soup (big batch, easy to freeze and very good with a nice whole grain bread) and the brown rice and lentils tacos (that one is a MAJOR favorite here, with salad, plain yogourt and tomatoes...).
You could also change the ground beef in some of your recipes like chili, sloppy joes, spaghetti sauce etc, for some meatless ground round (like Yves veggie). You can even take that to make your meatloaf!!!
