As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I know how to cook, do I enjoy it? not really, but I do it. My kitchen is teeny tiny-- our subdivision was built in the 40s and 50s, and the dining rooms are huge, and the kitchens pretty small. When we bought the house, the original plan was to break through the wall between dining room/kitchen to make the kitchen bigger, but we just have too many ducts in that wall. We make it work though. Joe says if we don't move, he's going to put an addition to make it bigger.
I don't know how. Never had any inclination to learn beyond a few simple things. I manage quite well out of boxes and bags, and can boil water. DH can cook better than I can but neither one of us is particularly diligent about doing it.
I do not know very many people that know how to cook, and no one in my husband's immediate family does it either. For reference, I am in my 20s.

Yes we cook as well. My MIL doesn't cook anymore which I just find strange. They seriously have no food in the house, only take out/leftover containers in the fridge. I'm not against going out, but I can't imagine having the money to go out for every meal. Plus, after awhile its such a hassle. I would rather open a can of soup and have a sandwich for a quick meal than bother going to a restaurant.

I did a lot more cooking when I was single -- my friends and I would take turns hosting the group for dinner.
It's a lot harder now, when I don't know what time DH will be home to eat, or dance class starts at 6.
So I can cook, but don't as much as I should. Which is probably true for most of my friends. But yes, I know plenty of people who can't. I have a church cookbook from the church I grew up in, and there are plenty of recipes I won't use simply because of the reputation of person who submitted them.
When I first met my MiL, she was proud to tell me that only ONE of her kids (out of 5!) knew how to cook, and 3 knew how to do laundry!! I got the ONE who did BOTH!!
Dh's brothers can grill meat and microwave veggies. His one sister has learned to cook. The other sister eats fast food and TV dinners.
I know how to cook. I don't like to, but I know how. Sorry to say, my kids don't know as much as I'd like them to, but they are learning.
I love to cook! When we built our house, we made the kitchen larger so that I could have the kitchen I always dreamed of. Nothing fancy, just the basics, but I enjoy it and it's alot more economical than eating out or having take out!
I didn't hang out with my mom growing up so what I've learned about cooking has been trial and error or the Food Network. I do cook when I have time. DD's dad is a very good cook also although he doesn't live with us so we don't have an occassion to eat his food anymore.

I want my boys to know their way around the kitchen, so they help with lots of stuff.
We really don't eat out all that much because it's expensive, and I've yet to find a place where I'm as comfortable as my own table in my own house.

I have a library addiction and the cookbook section is like a second home to me. I'll take out 5 or 6 books and curl up in my sunporch to *consume* them. And if that's not enough, I'll go watch Gordon Ramsay on BBC or just about any show on the Food Network!

I learned growing up from both my grandmas and Mum cooked every night at our house. In today's busy lifestyles it's all about convenience and time so we tend to eat out twice a week (I love it when others do this as we own two restaurants - LOL!) but DH cooks three times a week and me only two nights. It works for us but that doesn't suit every family.
PS I think of myself as a rather good cook with a few great specialties and my kitchen is the perfect size/layout for family meals but entertaining portions need a little better planning.
Cooking and Baking are my hobby. We do eat out some but I also make out a weekly menu to help keep me organized so we arent eating pizza all the time. It is possible to have home cooked meals even when you are busy.
I cook, would cook more if I had a bigger kitchen and more time. I have cooked since high school, when it was just me and my dad. Due to budgeting eating out was limited.
Now b/c of football practice everything has to be quick. I love our George Foreman gril! But ever since DS15 could move a spoon he has been in the kitchen with me. He can make a pound cake and almost anything else he wants to eat. He will never starve b/c he couldn't make something.
And if DH can read a box he can make it.
