Do we have to eat again!!! (previously the put me in a suitcase TR) - UPDATED 12/9 - COMPLETE!! - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great start. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time so far. Congratulations on the savannah view! I just had Zebra Domes for the first time this August and they are so delicious. Glad you enjoyed your meal at San Angel Inn. We also love it there and chose to eat there for our 10th anniversary. Can't wait to hear more about your trip and your greatest meal ever.

Today we got up late, or at least Mike did. I was up early and sat outside eating more zebra domes and watching....zebras!
When sleeping beauty finally rolled up out of bed, we headed over to DHS.
My first business of the day was a long awaited drop on the ToT. Dear Mike has horrible vertigo, and didn't want to ride, but agreed to go through the que with me. My beloved tower, however, had other plans. Apparently 2 elevators were out of service and the line was not moving. Disappointed I decided not to wait and we headed back towards the hat, and walked over to the Great Movie Ride. There was only a brief wait before we were lurking through the movie sets. After some near misses with some criminals, aliens, a witch, and an ancient curse, we headed off to find TSMM (which I had actually forgotten about). The line was only about 30 minutes, so we jumped right in. The que was quite bright and fun, very nostalgic. Well, Mike kicked my butt...
but I sure did have a great time. What an awesome attraction. I can't wait to go back and play again.
After TSMM we headed to our lunch reservation at Sci Fi. I had the chili and onion rings and Mike had the burger and fries.
My food was good and Mikes fries were good, but the burger was just ok. I got a strawberry milkshake to go, as my dessert. The service was fast and friendly and our hitchhikers were well behaved . I made sure that we didn't over eat, so we would have plenty of room for our upcoming dinner at Cali Grill.

After a brief rest back at AKL, we showered and got ready to head over to the Contemp. for our ADR at California Grill.
We took the bus to MK and then the monorail to CR. We headed down to the check in desk and got our buzzer. After a brief wait by the elevator, a CM came down and took us up to the 15th floor. We were seated close to a window and struck up a conversation with a nice couple while we waited.
Our server- I think his name was Jack-was the best waiter I have yet to encounter. He had a pin which my brother noticed, that said he had been an employee since 1971.
The waiter started by offering us the wine list. I was eager to try a glass, since I live in a dry community and have only sampled a few kinds, most of which I didn't like. Jack was very helpful and with the description of the wine I had liked in the past, said he knew just the one for me. He brought me a German Riesling, which as he said, was just the one for me. My brother also had a test pour and decided to have a glass as well.
Then Jack made some suggestions for our appetizers. He almost got me to try some sushi, but I chickened out. I had the Goat Cheese Ravioli Attachment 24412 which was delicious beyond words. Mike had a flatbread which was also wonderful. Attachment 24413
Mike had a steak with green beans and white sweet potato mash...The whole entree was perfect. The steak required no knife, and it melted in your mouth. The green beans were crisp and covered in this wonderful light marinade. The white sweet potato mash gave a nice slightly sweet contrast to the tangy green beans. Attachment 24414
I had the Roasted Free Range Chicken Breast with Salad of Heirloom Tomatoes, Arugula, Croutons, and Natural Jus. Oh my gosh! This was fabulous!!! The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Tomatos and arugula provided a nice light side, the tomatoes were all different types and tasted as good as they looked. The croutons added a nice bit of crunch to the meal. Attachment 24415
We were just blown away.
For dessert Mike had the Peachy Keen Attachment 24419 He drooled over the peach cheese cake, in the right of the picture. The drink in the center, was very thick, and very unusual. I had the Original which was creme brulee with 2 small cakes. It was very good, but I couldn't finish it....owwww, my full belly. Attachment 24420
While we were eating dessert, the California Grill Sunset was announced. All the blinds raised to the ceiling in unison and the view was amazing! Attachment 24416Attachment 24417Attachment 24418
I can't express how much I anticipate a future return to the Cali Grill. PERFECTION!
After settling the bill, we headed out to the roof and tooksome pictures of The MK getting all spooked up for the MNSSHP.

Oh My! I think we unknowingly followed you around the parks the first 2 days and I am SURE that we were both on POTC at the same time! How crazy!
We didn't like the Sci Fi either. The food was sub par and the waiter was... nevermind. It'll be in my trip report later on this week.
Anyway, it sounds like you had a great time and I can't wait to hear more since we were in the world at the same time!
