Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

My DH has woken me out of a sound sleep talking to me or making strange sounds. His eyes will be open and he will be looking at me. We will carry on a conversation til I realize that he is asleep and I will push him back onto the bed, he closes his eyes and thats the end of it. Of course by this time, I'm wide awake and it takes forever for me to get back to sleep!!
Once he woke me up by shaking my arm and demanding to know where I was going!! After he asked this about 4 times, I told him I was going to the bathroom because he had woken me up!! He said, oh, and laid back down and closed his eyes. Another time, he woke me up making buzzing sounds like a mosquito while holding his hand over me like you would a little kid when you are pretending to be a bug (if that makes any sense whatsoever - it's kind of a visual thing!). Don't have any idea where that came from. I made him stop by pushing him back into bed, he closed his eyes and that was it.
It's been a while since he's done this so I'm expecting it to happen again soon. Heaven only knows what his unconscience brain will come up with this time!!

I was a sleepwalker and my brother called me the peanut chew bandit for a while as I came out one night while he and my dad were watching tv late at night and I walked over and took my dad's bag of peanut chews and then went back in my room. I couldn't figure out why the bag of peanut chews were in my room when I woke up. DD use to walk in her sleep too but doesn't anymore.

Both of my kids talk in their sleep so do I. I used to sleepwalk however I think I've stopped because it has been a while since anyone has caught me. DH doesn't do either.

We all talk and DS walks. I had a step-sis who would and once she got up at two am and got ready for school and was waiting for the bus at 4 am. We found out because the police brought her in. It is funny now, but then we were scared she would get hurt.

DD talks and laughs in her sleep...it is too funny. DH used to sleepwalk, but thank goodness neither of the kids did that...I'm pretty neurotic about safety so that would have probably driven me straight into convulsions.

Your stories are funny!

One of my favorite sleep walk/talk episodes was when oldest DD was about 5. We (DS Tyler and DD Alexa) were living with my parents at that time. My mom was still awake and in the living room late one night when DD came walking through and into the kitchen, where she climbed up on a dining room chair, put her hand to her forehead as though shading her eyes, turning this way and that.

My mom was startled (to say the least!) and said, "Alexa, what are you doing out of bed?"

DD answered, "I'm looking for me Tyler." (I think she must have been dreaming she was a pirate!!)

DD when she was younger would sleep talk and sleep walk. I can remember her talking alot in her sleep. A few times she would just bolt upright out of bed come into the living room, look around & say something strange to me and then go back to her room lay back down and go back to sleep. The following morning she would have no recollection of what happened. It was so freaky!

Nick talks in his sleep all the time... it cracks me up...
The only sleepwalker in the family is me... but I haven't in a really long time... I walked right out my front door once when I was a kid.

My kids have all talked in their sleep. Samantha and my Step-son used to argue with each other all of the time - in their sleep!! I don't know if they do now - they're all grown up and out of the house.
Kathryn and Lauren talk in their sleep. THey usually don't make much sense.
Samantha used to walk in her sleep (the spinal cord injury put a stop to that!!). I once found her in the kitchen, with the door to the fridge wide open. Asked what she was doing and she said "I'm going to the bathroom, mom."
DH has night jerks. Broke my nose once. It was good for a guilt trip for about 5 years!

Andrew talks in his sleep all the time. Pretty funny stuff usually too.
One night he called to me and told me to "watch this". Then he proceeded to throw a baseball 3 times - all while sound asleep.
He only sleepwalked once and he ended up downstairs on the couch.

LOL, keep the funny stories coming!

I only know one person who has slept-talked (and none who walk in their sleep) and that is one of my friends. He was on a cruise (as an adult) with his family and several of them shared a particular cabin, including his step-mother and himself. Apparently, in his sleep he said some not-so-nice things about his step-mother, who was pretty ticked off by morning, as you can imagine!!!

i sleep talk. my boyfriend says it usually happens when he makes a noise and i'm in the middle of a dream and i half wake up, but i don't remember anything.

i've gotten up and crawled to the end of the bed, told my boyfriend to "go ahead" and gestured with my arm for him to lay down and then i crawled back down and went to bed.

i've also turned to him and asked him which side of the bed he wanted to sleep on and he ignored me (he knew i was sleeping) so i kept asking him. he answered something like, "same side i always sleep on" and i said, "well i was just asking since some people have sides they like to sleep on" and i rolled over and pretended to be mad.

i love hearing stories about the sleep talking i've done.

All of my girls talk in their sleep but only my oldest DD is understanable. She used to sing songs in her sleep (Grease is the word, is the word ), then clap for herself and roll over and close her eyes. She also used to sleepwalk to the bathroom and then forget to pull her pants down and just sit on the toilet and go to the bathroom fully clothed (she was young maybe like 5) and then would wonder how she wet the bed without actually "wetting the bed"
