As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Yeppers, I brought a bunch of Canadian chocolate with me so I won't have to eat Hersheys while I'm here! I mean, yeah, it works in a pinch, but....you know. So hey, Terri, c'mon down, I have 3 Caramilks left in the freezer plus 4 Aero bars and a Big Turk! And I brought some KitKat's to do a taste test with because I've been told ours taste better and I'll bet it's for the same reason. (We haven't bought the American KitKats yet to do the taste test so I don't know if it's true or not - so far it's just rumour.)
Can't you just get some at the Commissary? Jan & I were at the Commissary here yesterday and they had a small selection of UK Cadburys.

I'm sorry, I didn't know you weren't allowed to shop in the Commissary because that would certainly be an easy way to do it. I hope that the World Market works out for you! Cadbury is good, Nestle's is good and so is Neilsons. Try Nestle Aero bars or Neilsons Jersey Milks if you can't find the Cadbury Dairy Milk.
I love Nestle Aero bars! I also happen to love American Kit-Kats, but once you try the British ones, you'll never want to eat another American one! Around here, you can buy the British candy in Stop n Shop (in the imported food aisle). There is also a candy store in the mall that sells them, too. Another good one is the British or Canadian Smarties. They look like huge M&M's and come in a tube, and are not the small sugary tablets in the roll like you get here. FWIW, British and Canadian candies are great for people with nut allergies, since the labeling practices in those countries are much better than they are here.

I usually go down to the local Irish shop when I need a UK cadbury fix. I have a small addiciton to HobNobs too! For my DH's addiction to orange Club soda we shop at Food Ireland. For those who like bangers and rashers this is a great place to get them!

I do agree with you though... if a company licenses their product to another, they should make sure that it would be the same as if they made it themselves.
Our commissary here only stocks a couple of different actual UK Cadbury products, NONE of which is a regular Dairy Milk bar. They do sell the Hershey made Cadbury, and it will work in a pinch, but just doesn't compare to the UK stuff I got at Epcot and that Chez and Mark brought over for me a couple of years ago. :
I do like a few Hershey products though . . . and a regular old Hershey bar on Smores is yummy on oocasion!

I a Hershey's candy bar! I also agree with Rob though and I'm sure that once you are used to a delicious piece of chocolate, you want it to always be the same, yummy taste.

When my family visits the US, we do a trade-off. They bring me Cadbury's and take home a ton of Hershey kisses. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side!

I do too - as well as the front, back and sides of the cereal boxes.
As for the chocolate, I've never been anywhere but here so I guess I've never had really good chocolate since I eat Hershey's. But I do have to admit I think it used to taste much better than it does now, just like Coke used to as well.

I agree on the PB Cups and Patties...I grew up in Germany, though, and Milka was our "Hershey" bar. OMGoodness, but it is good! Thankfully, there's a shop in Tulsa that carries it, so I can stock up on "real" chocolate! I can really taste the paraffin in Hershey products.
