As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I'm really lucky to not have any coworkers that drive me nuts right now. While we're all different, I like all of them. That said, I have definitely HAD some nightmare coworkers. The worst was bad hygenie/no personal space lady. What a combination. Every month, she made dessert for our monthly birthday party (you know, the joint 15 minute party that you have for that month's birthdays). For a year, I had to pretend that I didn't like cake/pie/cookies/whatever because I couldn't bring myself to eat anything she had made. Everyone said she was an excellent cook, but I couldn't shake the whole "if she does _____ when people are watching at work, what does she do in her kitchen at home?"

Some of these co-workers are too funny! I will say that I do not like when anyone takes something from my desk and does not put it back EXACTLY as I had it - it's like that for a reason and I KNOW you touched it. And don't use THAT pen - it's mine.
My boss does do something that drives me batty - I hate when I come in to work and he's sitting at my desk . Helloooo, you have your own desk, with a laptop, or go use the tower in the other office. Funny thing is, he knows it makes me crazy!!!
Slammypants! I'm so sorry. That has to be flat-out annoying.
Many years ago, I had a co-worker who would tell stories with every possible detail, except that it was detail she couldn't quite remember. People would do anything to avoid seeing her on a Monday morning (when she had weekend stories) or on her first day back after a vacation (which was the worst). She might describe her vacation by saying something like, "Well, we left town at 8 am on the first day -- or was it 8:15? Yeah, it was 8:15. We got in the car, and I was driving. Or was Sam driving? Yeah, I think Sam was driving. By the time we were 15 minutes down the road, it was raining, and then Sam needed to stop for coffee. Or maybe he wanted to get a McMuffin. Yeah, I think he got the McMuffin first, and the coffee later." Ouch.
She is also the person who would always say, when telling of a conversation with her husband, "So I said to Sam, I said..." Every. Single. Time.
Does Ms Slammypants slam things because she is mad or becasue she wants co -workers to know she is there. I work in an Office with a couple that drive me crazy though I like them, One of them makes a BIG deal out of everything she does. A MAJOR DRAMA QUEEN who is very high maintenance to boot. If she does not get her way with whatever she wants, the drama is almost unbearable. PLus you have to listen to her make insulting remarks about other people ( I think it makes her feel better about her self) THe other person has a job that they can complete in about 2 or 3 hours of their day. SO she spends the rest of the day disrupting other people in the Office with her behavior. Looking up funny things on the internet and having to share them with EVERYONE.. sometimes over and over again. If you leave the Office and come back she will tell it to you again because she can't remember telling you the first time. There are 8 others in the Office, plus those who come in contact with others in the Office so you can hear that story about 20 times. and it can be something as simple as " Did I tell you I bought a new collar for my dog?"
HEy nice thread for venting

I got a co-worker that drives me crazy. He is always trying to borrow money from everybody!!! (And I do mean big bosses too). The guy has a decent paying job but is always broke. He makes twice what I make, but everytime I see him its Hey Scott can I borrow Five dollars?? And he has asked me on his pay day!! The guy is nuts!!
I could go on and on about co-workers that drive me batty, but none of you have the time for ALL THAT! LOL What really gets me is when they start their little gossip tree!
I don't work in an office, but my step-mama does.
The lady who sits in the cubicle next to her uses her SPEAKER phone ALL day long - personal conversations, professional, etc. Step-Mama is trying to talk to HER clients, and she has trouble talking to them, with the other lady going on and on and on.
I told her to walk over to the other cubicle during a personal call, and participate in the conversation. Then, when the other lady says it's a private convo., step-mama can say "Well, then make it private and don't invade my public" - she's too sweet though.
One of my co-workers invited people to her house for a party! That was very nice, but in the middle of the party she started showing porno films. There has never been anything I have encountered as awkard as trying to talk to anybody while a porno film is right there. What possessed her to do that I don't know, but people still talk about that party and laugh!!!!
I have 2 co-workers that drive me bonkers - the other 847 just drive me batty.
Co-worker #1 talks EXTREMELY loud. When I first moved into the office I told her I could hear everything that was said in hers. Then I started repeating everything that she said back too her. Now I just play music and eavesdrop when it gets juicy. We still joke about it.
Co-worker #2 is my boss. He is a sweet little old man. He turned 70 last week - wish I was joking. He has retired twice and should have stayed retired. He has got to be the most meddling micro-manager I've ever dealt with. I'd hate him if he wasn't so darn nice!!

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them - Walt Disney
I work the night shift by my self so in the 30 minutes that i do deal with co-workers i am ready to kill them (15 minutes when i get here and 15 minutes when i am leaveing for the day). I have one guy that is about to turn 52 years old and thinks he is gods gift to women. if you are over 25 you are toooooooo old for him. He trys to tell people that he is rich and that he is tied to the mob and so on. I tell him he is an IDIOT all the time...I just dont use that word i add a few before and after, but i cant type them words on here. Sad part is the people around here never said anything to him and his way to thinking until I did.
Then I do all the paper work for where I work each night and I am the one that needs the colored pens, highlighters, jumbo paper clips, stapler, and sicciors. I go as far as putting my name on everything and every night when i come in the stuff is gone. They go as far as taking my chips, candy and tastycakes if i leave them laying around. So when every they leave food laying around I hide it for 2 days.
I guess we all have to take them co-workers with a grain of salt.
Most of my coworkers are great, but I have a couple that drive me nuts!
One is a father of two small children, but all he can talk about is xBox, wrestling, and how drunk he is going to get on a certain day (of course, he's diabetic and shouldn't be drinking at all . . .)
The other is older, terribly insecure about his professional skills, and thinks everyone is out to get him. Think a skinny hippy who smells really bad and can't stop complaining about how "the man" is trying to bring him down.
Thank goodness for headphones! It's the only way I keep sane!
