So what are your plans for the weekend! - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I spent the last 5 hours cleaning and in about an hour I am headed to the Big E (for those of you who are not from New England, it is a HUGE fair. The Big E) to eat, shop and then see Chris Daughtry tonight at 8. It should be fun!

Let's see , sitting at my store now, working and waiting until 2pm to be able to lock up. Then go home and do laundry. Try to not to cry too hard as I watch Michigan Football lose again. Then I will pull myself together and make sure the house is in good shape for breakfast with in-laws tomorrow. Do my books, pay bills.......gosh this doesn't sound like fun.
Okay I promise I will find time to lay in the hammock in the cool air and read....for me.
Had work already this morning. Going on "date night" to Bertuccis (my daughter calls it A Tooshie) then the Disney store to get her Disney Dollars for her chore chart for the week. Running 6 miles @ 6 a.m. tomorrow with my running coach. Then Sesame Place for the members party. Then hopefully getting a good nights sleep for once this week.
Last night I went to see Mr. Woodcock - it was pretty funny and I got free Milk Duds out of the deal. Then we got onion rings and milkshakes from Cook Out (healthy supper, huh??), I came home and fell asleep during David Letterman.
Today, I played 3 back-to-back games of softball in an "inter-office" tournament. It was tons of fun, but I'm so exhausted. There are actually two more from 4:00 - 6:00, but I only agreed to play in the morning. The team is from where I did my internships, and I still hang out with a lot of the people, so I was happy to help out this morning when they needed some extra people...plus, 90% of the offices are guys, so...boys in tight baseball pants, can't beat that. But they should be good with their numbers for the afternoon and I need to do laundry!
Haven't decided on plans for tonight - either going to one friends' house and grilling out steaks, or going to this party another friend invited me to --- the party is kind of a costume party (I shouldn't repeat the "theme" of the party here, but let's just say that everyone is supposed to dress "trashy" ), and I haven't figured out a costume yet, so I don't know yet (insert obligatory jokes about how that shouldn't be too hard, etc.).
Tomorrow - I have a JL meeting after church, then just relaxing unless my Dad decides he wants to go to Lowes and get the stuff to build my new storage building. Exciting. I've got to pack my stuff for next week's travel too.
Today we took the kids to the Wings and Wheels Expo at Teterboro airport and saw a WWII B-something bomber take off and land. What a beautiful aircraft. I wish I could remember which "B" it was - DH would know, but he is napping. Everyone at our house is sick with a cold!!! PHOOEY!
Tomorrow is cleaning day... and then we're having dinner with MIL at her house. As long as we aren't all too sick, anyway.

Today Zoie had pep band, and Jack had a birthday party to attend. In between all the running I got a couple loads of laundry done. Now DH and Jack are at a college football game, and I'm about to head to the grocery store. Then I'll come home and bake Zoie's birthday cake for her birthday party tomorrow. Tomorrow it's just the party which consists of a few teenage girls hanging out and playing guitar hero, eating pizza, and then getting dropped off at the roller skating rink for a couple of hours. All I have to do is take everyone home (and pay, of course ). Now, I guess we're going to a movie instead, one of the girls hurt her knee and can't skate...
Nate came home from school last night- he and Allen went up to the high school football game. I went to the Disney store!
Today - I took down my summer door wreaths and table decor, put up the fall wreaths and put fall leaves on the mantle of the fireplace and put fall placemats on the table with the fall candle and centerpiece there too.
Laundry, laundry, laundry! (Nate brought lots of dirty laundry home!)
Cooking chicken and noodles tonight for our dinner tomorrow - as Zach and a friend from California are coming home tonight! They traveled across the country to watch the Notre Dame and Michigan game. Needless to say - we are all terribly sad around here as our fighting Irish lost yet another one!
Zach and Brian will leave tomorrow around 3 for Chicago for their flight back to CA.
Nate will leave around 4 to go back to school, and I will........relax!
I pretty much rested most of today due to a headache that I still have I did go to Best Buy to pick up my laptop and decided to just go ahead and have them install a hard drive. Had them add some memory while they were at it.
Sunday will be a morning of cleaning and laundry. Then in the afternoon getting together with my aunt and uncle to play cards then we will be going out to eat.
I slept all day (after having the night from h e double hockeysticks at work) and woke up about 6; just being a couch potato.
Tomorrow I will watch my beloved Steelers play (hopefully unless blacked out) and work on making my sore throat worse by screaming at the TV as is Sunday's ritual at our house!
We went to my sister's company's picnic at a local amusement park (someone at work gave her their tickets).
Tomorrow DS has soccer pictures. No game, just pictures. It seemed like a big waste of time until I learned that I already paid for the team photo and a head shot with the registration fee. After that we'll probably hang around the house and clean.
Today, Luke and I actually got to sleep in until 9:30 (very unusual for us). Then we worked out at the gym, went to the tanning bed, and ran by the post office. I vacuumed and mop before we got ready for church this evening. Tomorrow we'll take it easy in the morning, watch the NASCAR race in the afternoon, and maybe even take a walk as the weather as been very nice here this weekend. We also need to report a couple of plants and clean out Luke's Mustang. I'll probably run to Target for a few items as well.
Drove from WV home today via Amish country in central Ohio. Memo to self: don't go to Amish country on a Saturday, esp a beautiful, crisp one...it's worse than WDW! Unloaded the trailer, restocked some groceries and started some tie dyes.
Tomorrow will be finish the tie dyes and unpack from more than 3 weeks away from home. I'm happy to say that our souvenirs this time fit into one of the purchased Disney shopping bags which made DH very happy.
Through it all will be gritted teeth and lots of avoidance until my mother and 19yo DD leave on Monday. I leave 2 weeks from Wed for the next show, so LOTS to do between now and then!

Planned on doing some shopping, getting the laundry done, and putting away a good portion of the foot-high pile of papers I've piled on the desk. Got the papers down by about 3 inches. Spent most of the day watching baseball games with Mom - the only thing she likes to watch! And the Cubs won!
