As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I received a CJ in the mail from Karen yesterday. I have to say, I'm really confused though....I missed several that I was expecting to do, somewhere in the middle of things that make you say "Oooh" and the magical nights in the MK followed by the current one of Favorite Princess. Where are the ones in between. And, is this Karen's mailing for Oct 20 which is a week from now? Or am I suppose to be mailing on the 20th? Like I mentioned, I'm just really confused ...Can someone provide us with an update?
I'm lost, too. I don't have a CJ right now (but I'm NOT complaining, I'm *NOT*!!!) Thing is, though, once I do get one (or more), I won't have time to work on anything until Thanksgiving the way my schedule is running. Is it possible to let the dust settle, let everyone have some time to get caught up and resume in January? Also...does ANYONE know where my CJ is? I've PMed, but no one seems to know. It was unique, handmade, and I failed to photograph it before mailing it out.

Yikes...twins4me is scaring me...the one in the middle of things that make you say "ooh" and magical nights should be mine - which was Disney Laughter. Mine too was handmade - basically red and black with ribbons - if anyone has it, I'd appreciate knowing so it's not lost in the mail somewhere!
And, Dawn, don't worry - I don't have anything to send to you any time soon...I haven't seen these for a while!

As far as I can tell from the ones that I've never received from smilechaser, Dawn's and Mandy's books are either with smilechaser or AnnF. In July/August, I let Ann know that I hadn't received 2 mailings from smilechaser. Ann PM'd her and asked that she pass the CJ's on to her even if they weren't finished. I don't know if that happened or not. I've PM'd both AnnF and smilechaser again this month but neither have responded. Any ideas on what to do next?

I still have Karen's & Liz's (smilechaser) and I know Trish now has the next two for me... Which I looked on the list and that would be YOURS and Mandy's is probably the one she's working on or finishing. You could PM Trish and ask her (twins4me)... she's on & off sporadicly, but I'm pretty sure that's the one she's been waiting to send off to me!!!

Dawn, I just checked my emails from Trish that I haven't cleared (procrastination/laziness) and it seems that the one she had waiting to send me in Sept. was WDW @ NIGHT that it wasn't yours. I emailed her to let me know which 2 she has... if I hear anything, I will post!

Bridget - Don't feel bad about holding up the CJ's. At least you are responding to the posts and PM's and letting everyone know what's going on. I know what you mean about not feeling creative when you finally have some downtime - I feel I've been in a slump myself for a while now. I was hoping that scrapping would help me forget about some of my stressors but lately it's seeming to cause stress. Hopefully soon we'll hear from AnnF or smilechaser that the CJ's are mailed and ready to be worked on agian.

Ladies...
Here's my anxiously awaited update. The CJ I have, finished, and ready to send to Bridget (Grumpytiggernomore) when she's ready is Peggy's (Pooh). The one I just received from Karen is Melissa's (StarsClds). Unfortunately, I have not seen Mandy's or Dawn's. I'm guessing that Karen has not seen them either, as these are probably the two she is waiting to get from Liz. I'm hoping that these two pop up and back into circulation.
Sounds like we had a vote to wait until after the holidays to start back up....but it sounds like we at least need to get current before thinking about taking a break. I'm all for the good of the group....just let me know what to send and what to hold and when were starting up again.

Then, she can send them out as she gets them done and try to get back on track for a January re-start?
Works for me. Bridget, I'll hold Peggy's until after this weekend when I work on Melissa's. I'll send them both to you at the same time. Maybe toward the end of the week (the week of October 22nd). Then you'll be back from F&WF, with lots of new pictures and new creative energies!
