***MOUSEFEST 2007: PASSPORTER'S COMMUNITY SCHEDULE*** - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Well I know I'll be there for mega meet and hopefully some of the land meets. I like the idea of the tour at FW maybe even a meet at the movie and campfire would be good. I volunteered this year at Mega meet I was the one gaurding the door before opening. I would like to help again this year, I'd really like to plan a meet to I do that now once a month for guests coming here and we have a blast meeting new people and doing new things. So maybe I'll be doing more this year we'll see.
Registered Message Board Members Get Our Free Newsletter! When you register you'll have the option to sign up for our weekly PassPorter Newsletter. It's chock-full of feature articles; news; tips; contests; photos; and special offers in our online store.
Proposed events are now being added to the schedule. If you're interested in any of these events, please post a note in this thread ONLY for now to indicate interest. The more interest - the more likely an event is going to be added to the schedule!
And if you have any ideas or suggestions - even if you personally aren't able to host - please post your ideas here. We can always find a host later, but we need ideas NOW!
Hi there!
DH and I are looking forward to finally being able to attend MouseFest. We really wanted to go last year, but hubby's monthlong business trip to Manila kind of killed off our travel plans. At any rate, in persuing the 2006 itinerary, we thought that it was chock-full of WDW-y goodness, and we wanted to do just about everything. The only thing we wanted to see added was a Test Track meet (DH is an avowed gearhead).
We're also up for as many Adventurer's Club meets you can schedule ... Kungaloosh!
Oh yeah, and anything having to do with my beloved Haunted Mansion, count me in (could we arrange for a sleepover there??? )...
Cheers,
DoomBuggyBabe
PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World Its hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
I'd really love to be there for MouseFest! I'm hoping to make it for the land portion so that I can do some of these meets. It would be great to meet so many of you wonderful Passporters after "talking" with you for months! I'm hoping to get my oldest DD to go with me but if she can't I may try to go alone. The Adventurers Club meet sounds fun and so does the FW thing.

Someone recently suggested a meet that sounds like it would be a ton of fun! I had to report it to you all here because I love the idea so darn much! It's a lunch meet at Biergarten with a polka contest! I believe we already have a host for this event, but your input and ideas would help to shape events like this one.
If you have an idea for a meet, please send me a PM with your suggestions. Even if you're not sure it would be a good idea. I'm happy to help you work out the details if you've never planned a meet before or if you just think it's a crazy idea that needs a little co-brainstorming to bring it together.
Also, volunteers will be needed to help run other events at MouseFest. So, if you're not sure you want to plan or host a meet, but you want to help MouseFest run smoothly in some other way, please send me a PM and put the word VOLUNTEER in caps in the subject line.

Woohoo!! Nothing I love more than some MouseFest planning. We will definitely be at as many meets as possible and of course, I'll be at the MegaMouseMeet. (Anyone who was there last year will recognize me as the woman carrying a clipboard running around like a crazy person! )
I'm not sure about the polka contest - although maybe DH would like to do that.... but if that meet took place after we get there, Biergarten is certainly somewhere I'm interested in eating at and trying it for the first time with friends would be fun!
PassPorter Guide Yvonne (TinkerBelz) is now official! She's agreed to host the Biergarten Polka Meet. There's quite a bit of interest in this one, so don't wait to sign up!

Confirmed: Sue (rescuesk) has been confirmed as Co-Host for the Adventurer's Club Meet.
Please review the schedule as it reflects all of the most current updates.
Please also review the schedule often for NEW links to threads about each meet. Hosts will begin posting event details over the next few days. These threads are where you will sign up for the events and discuss event details.
I just found this link ~ figured I was too early. : not with my Passporter friends. I'm going to my first MouseFest this year. I'll be there from 12/4 to 12/11 and staying at Pop. Just booked my airline tickets and bought my AP.
I'm in for the Adventurers Club. Never been and have been wanting to go.
I'm up for the Biergarten but I don't polka. Would love to sit and chat with you all.
I'm interested in the ornament exchange if someone would give me the low-down on how it works.
I'm assuming we'll have the MVMCP meet for the parade and FW and the Osborn Lights meet.
Based on previous years MouseFest TR's I think a Liberty Tree Tavern dinner/meet before MVMCP would be cool.
I'm also interested in an evening/drinks/dinner meet at AKL. Never been & would love to experience it with friends.
Based on last years meets, I'm planning to attend a few other non-Passporter meets as well. That is why I will be there so long ~ to fit in meets: small & large, and do my touring as well.
I'll PM you Chrissi about volunteering to help where I can. I can't wait.

Lorie, the Hosts for each of the events on the schedule will be posting threads in regards to their individual meets over the next week or so. I'll include links to those threads on the schedule so there's easy to locate. Those threads will provide more info about how each event will be handled.
I got your PM about volunteering and thank you very much! I hope to see more volunteers signing up soon! (Hint, hint! )
