Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Ex-offenders working for Disney???

Im all for 2nd chances, lots of folks make dumb mistakes when they are young, or perhaps to feed their families. I dont want a rapist as my mousekeeper ore a pedophile with a child but I have enough humanity to realise folks change and grow.

That's true and I am certainly not defending them, but nearly all sex offenders were once the victim of a sex offender themselves. Unless the cycle is broken it just goes on and on.....it's very sad.

Re: Ex-offenders working for Disney???

We either have to as a society accept that ex-cons have to find positions somewhere, and give them the chance, or we need to start our own Australia.

If they can't find legitimate work, they certainly will commit another crime.

You do have to keep certain types of criminals away from certain positions, i.e. child molesters and character positions.

Re: Ex-offenders working for Disney???

I think that if you don't give former offenders a place to make a good wage so that they do't offend again (if theft, etc was the crime) then you have a vicious cycle. Sex offenders need not apply in my book.

Re: Ex-offenders working for Disney???

Most states prohibit sex offenders from having unsupervised contact with any children, even family members, at least while they're on parole. While offenders are on parole they also have to report their employment to the Parole Officer so that if by any chance one managed to "sneak by" and get into an unsafe position, the PO would be a second safety net and would in all likelihoood have them leave the job. PO's have an obligation not only to their parolees but to the community.

As for offenders charged with non-sex crimes, most are probably drug offenses and I would guess that many committed their crimes at a very young age. If we don't want to keep paying to jail people, we need to let them get jobs. The best way to keep them from re-offending in to make them productive members of society. And many inmates actually use their jail time to better themselves, including getting a better education so that they can get a decent job. Relegating them to landscaping and maintanence is unfair. If they are willing to put the effort into bettering themselves, they should be able to get the job that they are qualified. I have had clients who are very intelligent and once they paid the price for their offense have become very productive members of society.

Stepping off my soapbox,

Diane

As long as they are backstage cast members (landscaping, etc) I have no problem with it.

And, although it was mentioned here already: absolutely NO sex offenders!!!!!!

Re: Ex-offenders working for Disney???

I believe they deserve a second chance but if they were in there for something like child abuse or murder or something like that then maybe behind the scenes only?

I don't think they should work anywhere, period. I don't get why they give murderers second chances - the innocent person they killed isn't getting one, are they?

And this isn't against you Amy, or anyone! Just my opinion!

And what would your suggestion be for released prisoners? Should they just be put back on the street and not allowed to work anywhere for the rest of their lives? It wouldn't be long before they went right back to criminal activity to support themselves. Of course, sex offenders should not be employed in positions at WDW, or anywhere else, where they have close contact with children, but I'm pretty confident Disney is doing their best to insure that doesn't happen. As far as released murderers, that's a whole 'nother topic.

Re: Ex-offenders working for Disney???

Might I remind everyone we're talking about ALL ex-offenders, the Ted Bundy's and the Martha Stewart's.

And while I'm at it maybe I should remind everyone that Disney, as do ALL major employers, have been hiring ex-offenders for many, many years.

What is the defination of a murderer? Someone that kills another human being, right??? That would include those that did it accidentally, intentionally, through negligence, or whatever. Society has lessened the harshness of murder by calling it homicide, but it's still murder.

How many murderers are released from prison, very, very few. Less than 1% of the ex-offenders that are released are murderers. How many INTENTIONAL murderers are released from prisons each year, none that I know of, especially if they are convicted of premeditated murder. Last time I checked, intentional murder (1st degree),as well as 2nd degree, has a mandated minimum sentence of life without parole in 50 states...

Sex offenders do compromise a slightly larger percentage, and that percentage is getting higher every year. Not because we have more sex offenders, but because there are so many "classifications" of criminals that now fit into the sex offender catagory.

Child molesters are a different situation all together, especially in Florida (as well as the other 49 states). There are specific laws governing their releases, where they can be, where they can't, who they can work for, how close they can get to anywhere that has children, etc....

BTW, ex-offenders are anyone that was convicted of a crime and put into prison, placed on parole, placed on probation or suffered any consequences for the crime committed. There is not differentiation between the specific crime when you use a generic phrase like "ex-offender".

We all have opinions about this, as with anything else in life. We should respect the opinions of others, whether they agree with ours or not, just as we expect others to respect ours.

None of us are going to make any decisions, or change anything that's going on, or has been going on for a long, long time).

What I find amusing, to a certain extent, is that the intent of the reporter was to get noticed and stir the pot up a little by reporting "old news". They did it, didn't they!!!

If you have problems with an erection, the first step to solving them is to search for tips on the Internet from post, and also make an appointment with a urologist or andrologist. As already mentioned, a weak erection is a symptom of many dangerous diseases, from diabetes to cancer. The doctor will conduct the necessary examination - the choice of diagnostic method depends on the general condition of the patient, complaints, anamnesis - and will identify the cause of a weak erection. Perhaps, in addition to the therapy itself, the specialist will advise taking pills for potency. I did so when I had problems of this nature.
