Mousesavers' Newsletter "secret link" - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I also need the March 2009 Mousesavers newsletter if anyone would be willing to forward that to me. I just signed up today but missed the newsletter by 3 days.
Thanks!

Just a word of caution, unless you want to have lots and lots of spam in your inbox, it's best not to post your email address in a public forum. Instead, post a request that people Private Message you something you need.
If you just signed up, you should be in luck -- I don't believe she has sent out the latest newsletter yet. I'd expect it in the next day or so.

I agree, Eileen!
The newest letter should be coming from Mary within a few days. Remember, she does ask that we not share the link with others as the deals are meant for members only.
Members only being the newsletter subscribers? I subscribed today. Did I miss March 2009 newsletter? If so, would someone be kind enough to send it to me? PM for my e-mail. THANKS!
yet another request for the March 15 2009 MouseSavers Newsletter
I stumbled upon MouseSavers the other day and like many others, was a little late to get the newsletter in time before my April 17th trip. OK, technically I should be able to get it a day before I leave, but that is cutting it a bit close and I would prefer to have my Undercover Tourist tickets mailed. The discount will really help out so if anyone would be kind enough to Private Message me for my email address to forward the newsletter, I would be very greatful and will halp out another in April or May.
Thank you for signing up for the FREE MouseSavers Newsletter!
This is an automatically generated notice to let you know your registration has been completed.
You will receive the next issue on the 15th of the month. If you signed up on the 15th, I am sorry, but you will not receive this month's issue.
MouseSavers.com is a tiny operation. For that reason, I am unable to provide back issues or resend lost/missed issues of the newsletter.
Should you ever wish to unsubscribe, you can opt out at any time by clicking on the "unsubscribe/change profile" link that appears at the bottom of each newsletter.
Is the undercover tourist link in the newsletter different from the one on the main page at mousesavers.com?
Yes, the link on mousesavers.com takes you to the undercover tourist site, which seems to have better pricing than purchasing direct through Disneyworld. To compare, you need to pretend you are buying on disneyworld.com to see the taxes and shipping fee.
Anyway, the newsletter is supposed to have a special link for newsletter members that will provide a better discount. I don't know how much better this discount is and I will be purchasing soon (tomorrow?) because I should probably leave 15 days for shipping and my trip is on 17-April.
I JUUSSSTT missed getting the newsletter by a day. I am planning a vacation to DisneyWorld, and would love to be able to claim any discount possible. Would someone mind sending me a link? Please Private Message me for email. Thank you soooo much....every penny counts these days!

OK, here is my assessment. Most people visit Disney a few times (or less) in their lifetime. Infrequent travelers tend to discover Mousesavers before the one month cycle but don't really know what mousesavers is or if it is even valuable. As they get closer to their trip they realize ther are some useful things on this site. They discover you cannot get really big discounts on tickets and see the value of Undercover Tourists. Reading comments about them on the net gets one to trust the site and realizes an additional discount can be found by subscribing to the newsletter. But its too late because they are now past the one month mark. So I purchased my 7D no expire tickets for four without the special secret discount.
On the 15th, the newsletter came out. Not sure there was anything in there that I will use and I know I wont be needing monthly info on it for quite some time.
I respect the fact that folks would not forward the newsletter even after I signed up as that is the agreement. I will also abide by the agreement, but will provide some information that I was unable to get that should help many.
After getting the secret link, I decided to configure the same ticits I just purchased without the discount. It would have saved me a whopping $10 total for my entire order. This is less than a one percent discount.
So, go to Undercover Travel and purchase your tickets. They are easy, fast and discounted. Don't worry about the mousesavers newsletter. How do I opt out of future mailings?
Hopefully this helped a whole bunch of people. Or at least one.
Need secret link from mousesavers.com newsletter for undercover tourist
Hi! I subscribed to the Mousesavers newsletter 2 months ago and now I need to purchase tickets to Disney World. Unfortunately, the newsletter must have gone to my spam as I have never received it. Does anyone have a newsletter that they could forward to me or just provide me with the "secret link" to Undercover Tourist?
Thanks for the help!
Barbara [/EMAIL]
Note from a Guide:
Please Private Message this new member with the link.
And please remember that we do not recommend posting email addresses in the general forums -- it opens you up to a world of spam and junk mail.
Eileen

I just joined mousesavers.com two days ago. I can't get the newsletter with the secret link until next month because I joined after the 15th on the month. Can someone please email me the last newsletter. Thanks
