The Third Time’s the Charm! Fourth (Third) Annual Mom and Me Trip--Updated twice on 10/21--now COMPLETE - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I just know this is going to be an awesome trip!!! BWI is going to be great, I'm sure, judging by how much Mel liked it . . . . . . And if you need someone for "live updates", I'm available . . . . Don't keep us hanging to long, P-Sha!
Great start Sharon!! Hope to see you and DM down at WDW over the weekend!!!
I'll keep my eyes peeled for you two!

Your mom sounds fun! And you get your beauty from her - you look so much alike!
I can't wait to read all about your "sweet" successful trip from the BWI! It is a beautiful resort - I am sure you will it!
Now - about this international thing.....................WOW - which one you going to? I am guessing Euro.
You know why your mom likes you best..........cause you take her to Disney!
Ann, you made me blush! Thanks for your kind words. Yes, we're going to Disneyland Paris next year.

Sorry for the long gap! DM and I are going to do Adventures by Disney London/Paris and Disneyland Paris next year.

I hope it was worth the wait. And if you hop on a plane, read on to find out where you'll find us, Lorie.

I'll be sure to take lots of pictures (big shocker, I know ). And I'll be texting Eileen, Jill and Karen, so they'll probably post a few live updates.

We're both really excited, so I'm sure we'll have a blast. And I guess I'll send texts to you instead of Eileen, since she should be working on her TR instead of texting.

Well, I have no problem being Eileen's back-up . . . . It will benefit us as well if you don't text her. . . . . Maybe we'll actually get an update!!!!!!!!

Mable’s Sweet Tip: A spoonful of sugar is good. A spoonful of Hershey’s syrup is better.
The best thing about frequent trips to WDW is the fact that whatever you don’t get to do, you’ll find time for it next time. So the focus for us this trip is the Food & Wine Festival (with a little MNSSHP thrown in), because the other stuff can wait. So understandably, we’ll be spending a lot of our time at Epcot.
September 26 We’ll check in and get settled a bit before heading to Epcot. We’ll be at the PassPorter meet in Italy at 8:30. After Illuminations, we’ll spend the rest of EMH at Epcot, enjoying WS and the F&WF offerings. We’re supposed to get an awful rainstorm tonight that’s going to last through tomorrow, but we’re hoping it won’t cause us any issues.
September 27 I’m getting an early start while DM sleeps in. I plan to be at DHS when it opens for EMH and get in a few drops on TOT. Once DM joins me, we’ll stick around long enough to get on TSM (depending on FPs). I’m sure DM will love TSM. Then we’ll head over to Epcot and the F&WF. We’re hoping to attend the PassPorter meet at the Adventurer’s Club for its final night. I’m also hoping to get to meet our own resident CM Jyl (jpod523) and find out how she’s liking the CP.
September 28 We’ve got breakfast at the Cape May Café. After breakfast, we’ll head to whichever park strikes our fancy (probably DHS or Epcot, but MK is also a possibility). We’ll take a break in the afternoon and get ready to attend MNSSHP. We’ve got an ADR at LTT before the party, at almost the same time as tinkz (Amy) and her family, so we’ll be sure to see them. We’re also planning to meet up during the party with the Crissys (scdisneyfan and djcrysi). Perhaps I should warn them to keep a close eye on their candy.
September 29 I’ll be getting up early again to hit AK for EMH. DM will join me when she’s ready and we’ll spend the day here until we get hungry enough to head back to Epcot for more F&WF. We’ll probably spend the rest of the day at Epcot, unless we get the urge to do something else.
September 30 Epcot’s got EMH, so I might be able to convince DM to get up early for Soarin’ (her favorite ride). Not sure if we’ll stay at Epcot or go to another park. I guess it depends on what we want to eat. Whatever we do, we’ll have to return to the BWI for our DME pickup around 3:00.
After so many trips, I’ve found this is the perfect way for me to do Disney. Morning EMHs are my favorite and allow me to get my commando touring fix. I also have come to enjoy just letting go and heading wherever the mood strikes, so my trips have a combination of super-commando and super-no-plan-o (sorry, I’m feeling a bit giddy. I wonder why? )
I know I said DM needs this vacation, but I do too. Since returning from my trip in June, work has been really busy. I felt like I was going at top speed all summer, and didn’t have time to really enjoy it. I think the thing I’ve spent the most time thinking about is what FB I’ll have first. I’m 90% sure it’s going to be a Gran Marnier slush. I think we’ll pick one up on the way to the Illuminations meet. We’ll share it, and then get an Italian margarita to share for after the meet! Or maybe not. I’ve also been dying for a Kaki Gori lately, so perhaps I’ll have to get all three.
Up Next: Our Sweet Farewell

Great plans. I like your style, a little commando style, a little laid back. Please have an extra FB for me since I've never had one (I know can you believe it?) More please.
Yea!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you are going to do another TR. I love them so .
I had the Grey Goose Lemon slushy, and the Gran Marnier at the same time! I prefered the Grey Goose..It was yummy. My dear brother finished off my Gran Marnier. I hope you have lots to share about the F&WF goodies!
