As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Girl Power at the World! Shop \'til you drop!
It's difficult to keep up with the timeline! I started this post on Thursday before Lynn began this new thread, but never got a chance to post it, so sorry for the jumping back & forth everyone!
Friday May 13th- Tina, Tara, Lynn & I went to see my & his buddies at Crystal Palace. Oh, and eat breakfast too! Go to Tara's TR for the details. I don't want to be redundant!
Okay, after Tina & Tara left for MGM, Lynn & I had a little time to kill before meeting up with Maureen,Sandy & Sue, so we had a photographer take our picture in front of the castle and posed to add Tinkerbell later. I'll try to download them from the photopass site...shhhh!(Lynn posted it!)
Next we headed to Fantasyland via the castle.
First we rode Pooh with about a 3 minute wait. My pics rarely come out well, while on this ride,so I just sat back and enjoyed it.
I'd never ridden Cinderella's Golden Carousel, so Lynn was sweet enough to join me! I scoped out Cindy's horse, but a little girl came up to it as I got there and I wasn't about to take that away from her, so I motioned to mom that it was all theirs.
This is my attempt to take a self portrait of Lynn & me, but as you can see my horse wasn't cooperating!
I thought we'd set up Snow White as our meeting spot, but it was Small World, hey they both are abbreviated as SW!
Sue already told you about our morning. We had a blast on BTMRR! Maureen was my riding buddy and I always ask for the last car because it rocks! Good thing there wasn't much of a wait for it. Lynn rode solo in a car between Sue & Sandy and Mo & me. She wanted to get funny pics of us! Boy did she succeed! I hope you post them Lynn!(she posted a few)
Sandy felt it was time to head back to the GF for a rest & Sue went to meet up with her Aunt & Uncle. I'm pretty sure we rode Splash after they left. Then we headed to Casey's for some grub. I was stingy and ate an entire hotdog by myself, but I did share my fries!
We headed back to the GF, missing Terri's phone call saying she was on her way to the MK Luckily Sue was still there and they caught up with each other.
I took a 2 hour nap When I awoke, I felt invigorated and asked Terri if she wanted to join me for a dip in the pool. Seems as though everyone forgot about this, huh?! I took my waterproof camera, but don't think I ended up taking any pictures.
Lynn had been at the quiet pool and joined Terri & I in the main pool for a bit. The breeze from the lagoon was a tad to chilly, so we headed back to the quiet pool, which had comfy padding on the lounge chairs. We swam a bit and then lounged in the hot tub for a few more minutes. Sue joined us shortly thereafter and soaked her feet. She had been exploring the GF grounds. We finally decided it was time to head back up to get dolled up for our dinner. CG was also a first for me,so I was very much looking forward to it.
We got major attention and turned quite a few heads(if I do say so myself) with our coordinating outfits.
The CG attendant goofed around saying that he was also a part of our group, because he was in black except for his tie, which he proceeded to turn to the back so it would be unnoticed!
Seeing the view from the observation deck made it a must to return and see Wishes from this vantage point! We even got to see a bit of the Electric Water Parade.
You all have heard of the AC adventures, which we will be reliving in December!
I don't know about these ladies in the medical profession(Tara & Sue), but after returning to the room at 3am, I was out cold until 9:30 a.m, in fact the LAST one to get up! I usually wake up at 5:15a.m for work, but my internal clock knew better than to wake me up early while I'm on vacation!
I joined Maureen, Lynn and Sandy for an early start to our day at DTD. I'm a major shopper, so I was the last one to be done with my shopping at WOD. Plus the fact that the ATM was acting up and wouldn't give me my money!!!
Sandy & I rested outside of Once upon a Toy, while Mo & Lynn did some damage there. While we waited for them we experienced a mentally challenged teen sitting by us singing along to, I think it was a song from the Lion King, at the top of his lungs. We both though that was the epitome of Disney Magic and I for one got goosebumps and at this innocent and carefree expression of Disney love. Wish we all could forget what people might think and be this carefree all of the time. Except I don't think you'd want to hear me sing at the top of my lungs!
Then we thought, by eating at EOS at noon, we'd have room for icecream at GHirardelli's at 2p.m I had a Frenchy again. Maybe next time I'll try something new and Sandy & I shared a smoothie. Boy was that ever good!
We had a fun meet and I got to meet Dawn!
After DTD, we headed back to the resort to freshen up for our dinner at Narcoossee's.

Re: Girl Power at the World! Shop \'til you drop!
After DTD, we headed back to the resort to freshen up for our dinner at Narcoossee's
Back at the Grand Flo, as we called her, before heading to the room I wanted to check on the merchandise at the Sandy Cove gift shop. I collect shot glasses from the resorts and I needed to add GF to the collection! It was a good thing that I didn't find one however, because we'd all be receiving a wonderful giftbag from Lynn and included was a GF shotglass!
I had admired a pullover that Lynn had purchased on E-bay for a ridiculously low price and there on display was the same pullover. And it was marked down!!! When do you ever see markdowns at Disney? Sadly they didn't have my size.
I was also looking for a shirt that I had purchased on a previous visit to the store. The manager happened to be there and when I described the shirt she said those were on final clearance and could be found at Summer Lace, the fancy women's wear store across the lobby!
During this exchange, Maureen called me and I relayed the news . She said she'd head down and join me to check the merchandise out. Terri found us as well and we headed to the store. Normally I wouldn't even have walked into this store, because you can tell that the merchandise is very expensive. The CM there directed us to a back room, where sure enough we found the shirt I'd been looking for. It was on sale for $9.99! This also happens to be the infamous "Sparkling Turrets" shirt. It is a navy blue short-sleeved top with a drawing of the Grand Floridian outlined in glitter. If you are clueless as to the Turrets quote, stayed tuned for our next installment!
It was my first time at Narcoossee's and it didn't dissapoint at all.
It started with our host, who's name, sadly,I can't remember. He escorted us to our table and asked "THE QUESTION" [Insert Beethoven's Fifth Symphony here]
"So, how do you ladies know eachother?"
By now the other ladies knew that I had laminated Passporter's Pass-a-longs for the trip(located in your handy Passporter books!). I whipped one out for him. He found our gathering very unique!
At one point I saw him pass by with a small packet of crayons to give to a child and upon his return I asked jokingly "Where are mine?" Wouldn't you know that as we were leaving he sees me and proceeds to give me my very own pack of crayons!
I had a delicious Langostino& Crab Cake appetizer
and the Butternut Squash soup with lump crab &cream. Yummmm!!!
A server or was she a hostess, not ours, came by and offered to take our picture. She didn't realize she'd be passed 5 cameras!
Here's the one I took
No one had room for dessert.
So we headed off to our next adventure....an evening with The Bagman,Jan,the gang, but uh-oh what happened to Dawn & Sandy!
