Disney's Beach Club and Villas Resort (Disney Deluxe/Deluxe Villas Resort) Reviews and Ratings - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We stayed here for the first time in May and were very pleased. We booked a standard room but were happy to get a room overlooking the lake. We did not have a full balcony it was a standing room only balcony. I thought the staff was friendly and helpful. I had a birthday button on the day we arrived and almost every CM we passed greeted me by name and said happy birthday--cool! SAB was amazing--truly lived up to expectations. We loved being able to walk to Epcot, however we found the bus service to MK and AK to be slow. I liked the food options in and around the BC, although I felt that C/S breakfast options were limited if that's important to you.
What can I say about the Beach Club? We stayed there the second part of our trip and were surprised to be upgraded from a standard view room to Concierge Pool View. Aside from that the resort is gorgeous. The theming is wonderful, mousekeeping is immaculate and the convenience of location is beyond words. Just a short walk to Epcot and boatride to the Boardwalk and Hollywood Studios. You could walk everywhere if you have the energy. I can't say enough about this resort and will certainly stay there again.
The Beach Club is a wonderful resort in a fantastic location!
When I made my reservation, I requested a ground floor room close to the lobby, as my mother was traveling with me.
We received a corner room, ground floor, close to the lobby - very easy to find!
The rooms are beautiful! The bed is the most comfortable one I have ever slept on!
The pool is amazing! The sand bottom is the best!
The food choices are many! We love Beaches and Cream, but thoroughly enjoy eating at Cape May too! Between the Boardwalk area and the Yacht Club being so close, you have so many different options for food.
Being able to walk to Epcot is wonderful! But having the option of a boat ride is nice too! And even though it is the long route.....we have even walked through Epcot to take the monorail to the MK. We just allowed plenty of time and enjoyed the walk along the way!
I am a huge fan of the beach. This resort is beautifully themed!

This really is a great resort! In fact it is our new favorite! It is so close to Epcot, it might as well be in the park itself. All of the CMs were very friendly. And the atmosphere was really top notch. The pool is tons of fun if you like swimming. And you can't go wrong with a burger at Beaches and Cream.
We stayed at the beach club last January and we love it!! Although we payed alot of money for a family or five, it was money well spent.. I loved the whole surrounding. When we first walked in, we could smell the saltiness of the ocean (everybody loves that smell). The cast members were so nice. When we walked in the door after hitting the parks, we were greeted by name everytime. That just made it so magical. The kids activitys were very fun. Me being 11 years old at the time, was not happy when mom told me to take my bros over and do the kids activitys in the lobby, but when I got over there I met 2 kids my age!! I heard the actual kids club is fantastic, but since it was a family vacation, we decided to stick together. The cape may cafe clam bake was really good. Lots of seafood, but still some things for kids. The gift shop was great and had lots of selection. My only complaint about the gift shop is A) you had to pass through the little grab and go place to access it. B) there was a giant airvent on the ceiling right outside of it. And let me say, it was cold!! (Dont say I didn't warn you). Overall, great place to stay. Polls are great, rooms are great, food is great, staff is great. All is good there!!
We stayed at the BC for 3 nights in Feb 2010 and loved it! The resort is just beautiful! And the lobby always smelled so great! Maybe it was the huge, beautiful, fresh flower arrangements?
The rooms are huge! DS loved sleeping on the little bed the couch turns in to. So the room could comfortably accomodate 5 people. There was a lot of storage between the TV stand, dresser, closet and shelf under the sink.
Our view was terrible and we only had a small balcony, but we got a really cheap CM rate, so I can't complain. If I was paying regular price I'd definitely pay extra for a view and full balcony.
We easily refilled our mugs at the Marketplace and Hurricane Hanna's by the pool. The food and frozen adult beverages at Hurricane Hanna's were great. Our meal at Beaches & Cream was great. And we loved being able to grab snacks at the Marketplace. We didn't eat there this time, but we loved the clam bake at Cape May too.
The staff was all warm and welcoming, every time you entered the lobby.
And of course the pool area was great! Loved the slide, the sand, the lazy river part, the waterfalls, all of it!
Another nice perk was having a photopass station right in the lobby, the CM said there were only a few stations in resorts like that. There was a photographer every night either taking pics out on the boardwalk or in the lobby.
I would definitely love to stay here again sometime.

This is a great resort. Love the fact that it is so close to EPCOT and the Studios, as well as the Boardwalk. The pool is the best on property!! Beautiful, relaxing rooms and grounds.

We visited WDW in May11-18, 2010, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was the third time we stayed at The Beach Club Resort, the two times before (May,2009 and October,2009) were absolutely wonderful. This trip, May 2010, we had no problems anywhere else in Walt Disney World. We have been to WDW 12 times in 9 years, and this time is the only time we had a problem; but it has unfortunately ruined WDW for good. The blame lies squarely on TBCR shoulders. From day one; with belligerent staff, late check in due to them trying to give us a severely trashed room, day two, they lost our cc information, and tried to blame my husband (was probably still on trashed room after they changed us to another room). My angry husband spoke to a wonderful manager, who reimbursed us 1 &1/2 days we spent for hotel. Day three was great, day 4, after laundry and a swim, and handwashing my gorgeous designer suit; we came back to the room two hours later, suit was gone! While my family went to see Chubby Checker, I had to talk to third BCR manager, who reimbursed me what she believed the depreciated value of my year olf suit was worth. Right here, this ended my vacation: I came to TBCR for two things: to swim in SAB; and walk to Epcot. It seemed that while I was there, there wasn't any one piece swimsuits in a size 6, even better: a 4. So, from day three out of eight, I couldn't swim. THEN, housekeeping suddenly stopped giving us ANY service (including toilet paper ,soap, and towels). After two days, and seeing my family use the pool bathroom, we talked to a third manager. This man was impatient, disgusted, and finally blew us off with "I have a hotel that's at 40% capacity: do you know how much work that is? I have more guests to worry about than you!" we were speechless. The man then made a snide comment to my husband that he was sorry it wasn't more "profitable" for him. At that, I declared i would write a letter to his superior, and he laughed and said, "go ahead!". From that point on, I was frequently in tears , my husband in a deep dangerous rage, and my son was having panic attacks about leaving his stuff "unguarded" in our room. The same manager went out of his way to bully and taunt us, particularly my husband. It was indicated to me by this man that maybe"there never was a suit", which had me in tears again, giving descriptions to a lovely lady manager who worked at the Yacht Club. The horrid manager even made it a point to see us off on the DME in a way that looked like he was applauding triumphantly. Since being home, I've written no less than five letters to Disney's Executive Offices,..all the way to the very top. At first, I received a verbal apology,..but when I politely asked for reimbursment for the ruined hotel days that weren't reimbursed (or, give us the same days at another Deluxe as a show of good faith: after all, that would cost them nothing, and they'd still get a profit from park tickets and foods, etc.) Well! WDW thought that gave them free license to treat us like absolute criminals: as if we were asking for freebies instead of reimbursement for a hotel stay that was RUINED everyday *but* one, by BCR Staff! So, I have revoked ALL my recommendations; and called and alerted both credit card and travel agent. Interestingly enough, they both interrupted the long stream of abuses we suffered to say the same thing" WDW treatment of you was DISGUSTING!" Since WDW didn't do the right thing, my credit company WILL; and I never want to go back again. The worst part of all of this was to see that, after 9 years, 12 visits, $60,000., and bringing nine more families on board with our loyalty; WDW DID NOT CARE. The last call was from the head of guest communications: she had told me two weeks ago she was going to call back within the same day, or following Monday, latest. When she didn't call, we waited a week, and I emailed her. She then called with the same smug, taunting attitude expressed by that one awful manager at BCR: she told me that she spent the week rounding up the BCR managers as a united front that they were satisfied that I was reimbursed enough. Then, she told me in the same saccharin ironic tone, that they'd LOVE to have me come back. I said, "You mean you'd love for my ten thousand dollars a year to come back", and she replied, "Yup!". Very nice behavior from a company that has received every vacation dollar we had, brought new Disney fans spending THEIR thousands, and I never had a single complaint til this trip. I am devastated, even if the credit card company gets the hotel money back. I wrote two more letters: one to WDW President, who so far keeps delegating my letters to that last odious woman. And I also wrote a letter to the very highest authority in everything Disney. I expressed that I can't believe that he could know and approve of this new treatment of guests. However, when I posted this story on a DVC site, I was astonished to hear that some had worse tales to tell; and they also were treated like criminals for having a complaint. And they are locked in for 50 years! This is just disgusting
The conference let me stay at the Beach Club for only $110 a night ! I could see Illuminations fireworks from my window. The short walk to EPCOT was the best part.
I took my three grandson's, 9, 8 and 7, to WDW last December. We stayed in the Beach Club Villias. Facility was nice and access to Epcot was great. Restaurant choices are very weak. Breakfast from the Market Place is almost a waste of time. It takes to long, food gets cold by the time you pay for it and trying to eat in a Sun Room not set up for dinning is very weak. Thr room was clean but use worn. Main lobby does not have enought seating for the number of people using it. This resort is not one of my favorites.
We found the resort great! Near back entrance and I can not describe how we enjoyed SAB.
However the room was noisy...we heard the TV next room and everyone walking in the corridor. People talking seemed to be right besides me. This was a con.
Plus the CL is small, one could say cozy...but in the morning when everyone was there it was too crowded! We´ve brekfast in the couch once! Another day we pick up the food and take the plate to our room...no space available!!!! OK this is not CL fault....but I was expecting a view from the lounge....
We stayed at BCV starting the nov 25-dec3 2010. This was my first time staying here. And now I do not want to stay anywhere else. I loved that it was so close to Epcot...and DHS. Loved it so much we are going back this year the same time as last, but adding a day. So we can swim more. Oh and the pool WOW!
I love the BC ! It is beautiful, fun, and kid friendly. As soon as you walk into the lobby you feel relaxed and ready for magic. We had a waterview room looking out at the Baordwalk(4619) it was perfect. We were upgraded when we got there we paid for gardenview. The walk to Epcot is short and convenient, especially for the fireworks. If you like Epcot you should pick this hotel.
