You'll find out over the next couple of updates and there were some moments that scared the you know what out of me! But, it's not real and I'm here to have a great time! This is not for everyone and a first time experience for me.

Glad you enjoyed it as I think it's important to give some good info about the event in my TR! I think you'll enjoy the journey as it unfolds.

This isn't for those who don't like being scared! Universal does a great job with the theming and all the intricate details of this event to make it as realistic as possible!

I enjoyed my dinner quite a lot as it had been a while since I had sushi which I really enjoy! It was pretty crowded for the event. It's a separate ticketed event just like MNSSHP or MVMCP. You just go on the Universal site to purchase a ticket for the night you choose.

It certainly is the way to do it as you'll get to experience all the haunted houses and a majority of everything else going on for HHN. It's not cheap and you'll find out if I think it was worth it.

After the nearly 21 hour day yesterday, this one seems to be following its' lead! I knew when booking this that my tour wouldn't end until midnight or so but then again I wasn't planning on staying out so late on my first night! Tough to figure these things out, when you plan events so far in advance! Enjoying the evening so far and it will only get better!

How Do They Tolerate It in Here?



Thursday, October 5th (Part IV)
After our guide Jarrarie finished his spiel on the tour by giving us a lot of great information, the rain stopped! There would be no more rain for the rest of the evening, if I recall! Then we began to walk to our first haunted house of the night. It wasn’t far away and relatively close to the park entrance and the scare zone I had gone through earlier prior to arriving at La Bamba Café. This haunted house is “Saw.” Much of it based on the movie series. The movies starred among others Cary Elwes and New Kids On The Block member Donnie Wahlberg, older brother of Mark. Below is a brief synopsis of it.

Haunted House #1-Saw: “The traps are set. All that’s missing is you. The Jigsaw Killer has come to torment you with his twisted take on poetic justice.”

Once we arrived at the house, Jarrarie gave us an overview of the Saw House with lots of dramatics! This is what makes a great guide and I knew right then and there he would be and makes the experience of this tour that much better! He checked us in at the R.I.P Tour entrance with a cast member and began our first adventure of the evening!



I didn’t know what to expect and it was scary at times with lots of great theming, very loud and lighting effects to enhance the experience. There are lots of horror characters with some being real and others done with animatronics. At times, it was difficult to tell which ones were actual people and those who were not! None of this is real, so not to worry!

When you walk through these haunted houses you must keep moving to keep the flow of it going. There are cast members inside making sure you don’t stop along the way to hold up the line, which is good. Makes the experience better! With all the noise, lighting effects and all the action going on it’s quite a job for the cast members inside and how do they tolerate it in here? Several times in this house I got a few scares with things and characters jumping out at you! You never know when it will happen! Although, a shock I was enjoying it and having a great time!

It usually took about five minutes or so to walk through each house, depending on the size of it and the flow of the line.

Here is a YouTube walk through clip of the “Saw” haunted house. These are condensed videos of the haunted house tours and shows the best of them. I think this is the best way to go with these as there will be nine videos overall. Most are about two minutes in length. Even if you’re not into horror they’re worth a view to give you an idea what these houses are like, as I couldn’t take photos (even though some people in the video were doing so). I want to provide as much detail as possible with this experience and my TR as always and make it more enjoyable for everyone.

Although, none of this is real, it may be too much for some and viewer discretion is advised! In some houses, there were tame simulated macabre acts with a bit of gore but nothing that graphic. Once again, none of this is real and this is my disclaimer! It can be a bit loud in this video (and the rest) but not nearly as much as being there! I’m guessing this and the other videos were done with a Go Pro camera which give a great POV tour and experience of these houses!

Once, we all exited the house we met Jarrarie outside and he asked our opinion of the first house. Most of us enjoyed it but some in our group had the heck scared out of them, but still wanted to experience more! Judging by the size of the lines for standby, I’m convinced the R.I.P. Tour is the way to experience Halloween Horror Nights.

Next up wasn’t another house but two attractions to ride. First up was Transformers-The Ride 3D, which I rode earlier in the day. We went through a V.I.P. entrance and Jarrarie put us into groups of four. We got on the ride immediately. This is a good ride and a simulator, but not overwhelmed by it. It’s extremely loud!



After this ride we walked over to the Revenge of the Mummy ride, which is one of my favorite attractions in Universal Orlando. Just prior to the attraction was a scare zone. This is "The Purge" based on the movie series of the same name. The first movie in the series starred Ethan Hawke.

Once again, we bypassed the regular line for this attraction and were on the ride immediately once again. It’s an indoor coaster and so much more going on and quite varied and probably why I enjoy it so much! Jarrarie grouped us again and once we exited the attraction we met him in the V.I. P. area here and then downstairs to outside.



Now, we had our first break of the night. We went to a V.I.P. bar/lounge and conveniently located to the left of the ride entrance to The Mummy. I was feeling special! It was quite nice and themed well for the event. They had a cash bar and a few snacks as well and I indulged in both. I may have had a glass of wine. We spent about twenty minutes here.

After, talking with some of those in my group and enjoying some snacks and a glass of wine we gathered outside to meet Jarrarie. He left to go outside before us but I did get to spend some time talking to him in the V.I.P. bar.

We gathered outside and Jarrarie informed us we would be visiting a string of four haunted houses on this part of the tour. I’m not sure exactly what time it was at this point but guessing around 8:45 pm. My R.I.P. Tour experience was just beginning with eight more haunted houses to visit, a few scare zones, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure show and a few more beverage stops!

The first two houses fall into two different categories. One of them may have been my favorite one and the other was certainly my least favorite and did nothing for me.! These two houses were close to The Mummy attraction, so not much walking involved.

First up was Dead Waters. Here’s the description: “Enter a pestilent swamp that oozes evil, the hellish realm of the Voodoo Queen. If you fail to escape, you’re in for a gut-wrenching sacrifice.”

I enjoyed this house immensely and loved the theming. I loved the realism of walking through this in an old Louisiana bayou mansion with steep rickety floors that were constantly making creaky sounds with every step you took. The scare factor was quite high on this one with a lot of horror characters and other things jumping out at you unexpectedly!

After our group exited the house, Jarrarie brought us over to the next house, which was “The Fallen.” My experience with this house was rather disappointing and it did absolutely nothing for me! I guess there was bound to be one as I enjoyed the first two houses.

Here’s the synopsis of The Fallen house: “You’re about to be caught in the crossfire of the eternal war of light versus dark. No one is safe.” I didn’t like the theming or the characters, nor did I find it scary! It seemed more satantic than anything else!

After exiting the house, our group gathered outside and we took a quick rest break before continuing to the next two houses. One of them was another favorite and the other I enjoyed as well but it could have been a little bit better. With only three houses visited and six more to go, I’m enjoying this so far and taking the R.I.P. Tour has been a big help with no waiting! We shall see as the evening goes onward!

We all talked for a bit outside and the consensus, was how much we loved the Dead Waters house and thought very little of The Fallen house. After this brief break, it was on to visit more houses! At the time, I’m guessing it was about 9:15 pm or so.

Wow, the tour sounds perfect for you. It's so not my sort of thing - to the point where I'm not going to watch the videos, as I think they'll scare the living daylights out of me! It does sound like there's a lot packed into it and it's good value for money though.
