Another August Adventure with a shot of Testosterone...TR Completed 2/19 - Page 19 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

You all had an amazing time at 1900 Park Fare, especially with the Lady Tremaine interaction. The cake was perfect! Great way to finish the day with some rides at MK.

What a great dinner at PF...I think lady Tremaine and the step sisters are hysterical and my favs, for sure. So glad th GF Bakery came through with an awesome Olaf/Stitch cake and nice bonus that it was yummy, too. Nice to see you could match up Monsters FP with the rainstorm and stay relatively dry. Overall, fab evening at MK and Jaz snagged some amazing shots of the the FW over the castle!

Great start to the day at TL. Glad your headache subsided quickly for you. I deal with headaches and migraines too, so I definitely feel for you and know how it can ruin your day!
Dinner at PF looked like a lot of fun! The cake turned out really cute!!!

I always love seeing lady Tremaine, I think that some of my best character interaction memories are with her. It is why we end up visiting 1900 PF almost every year (add that I love the mashed potatoes there) and it is one of our favorites.

Again, for such a short visit to MK you did so much. Wonderful castle photos and I think Jasmine did a beautiful job with the firworks shots.
It was a fun dinner and I really loved how the cake came out, it was delicious as well.

Do you remember the cost of the cake? We'll be celebrating lots of birthdays in October so I'm thinking a cake might be a good idea.
I think the cake was about $90. We usually are there for Angel's birthday, we don't do a cake each trip since sometimes it is just us so it is just too much cake, but with a nice group this year it was definitely worth it and fun and the girls loved it.

The cake did not make it , shoving it into the hot locker turned it into a mess and in the end not worth bringing it back to the resort (as we were changing resorts the next day as well) but mess and all we all took another snack of the cake before we threw it out (and we brought the white chocolate Olaf and Stitch back to the resort for later).

It really ended up being such a perfect day. Dinner was fun, cake delicious and the MK is always a perfect way to end an evening.

I agree about the Monsters Inc. FP, I really did not think we would need it but with the rain everyone ended up there so it came in very handy.

I was happy that I caught the headache early. I usually get a window of a few minutes where if I catch it and take pills I can alleviate the worst of it, so I am glad I was at the resort so as soon as I felt it I could take a pill.
In October I got hit with one and by the time I got off the ride and got something to drink to take my meds it was too late. It took almost 8 hours for it to subside.

Sorry, to hear about the cake! I guess the cake in the locker with heat doesn't go rather well! Reminds, me of the time I got a large Mickey white chocolate in my room at the GF for my birthday. I basically nibbled on it through the course of my trip and brought the rest home. It was wrapped and left it in my bedroom and had a really hot day. I didn't have the a/c on and when I came home from work it was a big gooey mess. It was wrapped up, so it was contained. Wish I had thought about storing it in the fridge. Oh, well and too late now!

I had a feeling, the way you told the story, that Olaf & Stitch might not survive the locker in their cake form. Glad you all were able to grab a snack before tossing it.

I had a bad feeling about the cake from the beginning, but in the end it served its purpose, it was delicious and the girls were so happy and excited about it so it was all worthwhile.

It was a great evening, I was not too upset about the cake as even if it had survived the locker not sure if it would have survied the commute to the new resort tomorrow.

The little snack before tossing did make me feel a little less guilty about throwing the cake away (even melted and all it was still quite tasty )
Dinner at 1900 PF looked like great fun! Jasmine's photos of Wishes were very good. Sound like you guys had lots of fun that evening at MK. I'm like you - I have to see Wishes once every trip
Looking forward to your upcoming days at BCV......
I had some time this afternoon to update. I feel like I am so far behind. Don't have my notes in the office but think from the pictures I can remember most of the day so here it gos.
Day 6 - August 12th
Today we got up early and finished any left over packing as today we were moving to the Beach Club. While the kids were excited it is always sad to say goodbye to AKL as we love our "home". We had called Bell services and they came and got all our bags together and set up for the resort transfer and soon we were saying goodbye to our rooms and heading down to the lobby.
We posed for some last minute photos before heading out.
We headed out towards the buses and had maybe a 5 minute wait before a Hollywood Studio bus was pulling up. We made it to the studios around 9:30 or so. It took Jasmine a moment to realize that she did not have to do the TSMM sprint anymore (I think she might of actually missed it.....lol).
We had our first FP for ToT, Jasmine was going to enjoy VOTLM alone, but I was able to switch my FP to hers, figuring I would ride with the kids later on standby as there was no way Angel would settle for just one ride on one of her favorite rides.
With the switch made, Angel, Alexa, Leeor and Hugo made their way to Sunset Blvd. and Jasmine and I headed over to Animation Courtyard. We had some time until out Fast Pass opened so we stopped to take some pictures, with Olaf joining in on the fun.
Now Olaf was having a ball, he sure got himself in many of our pictures that day.
It was soon time to head in for our FP for VOTLM, not that a FP was needed but soon we headed in and enjoyed the show. The rest of the group was going to meet us at out next FP which was TSMM but we had some time so Jasmine and I decided to go and visit with Woddy and Buzz. Everyone on this trip really had fun with the characters.
When we finished our meet & greet we went outside and the group was waiting for us outside. They had a great time on ToT.
But Angel was pretty excited because she finally conquored her last attraction at WDW. RnRC was one of the two attractions that she had never ridden. MS - Orange Side was the other and she had conquored that the other day but she was still undecided about RnRC.
I figued having Alexa would prompt her to ride but after their ride on T0T she said the line was a bit long so they decided to ride the SRL. Angel said she would so she went through the queue with them and I guess they figured if she decided she did not want to ride she would just wait for them but she rode it....and had a blast.
Here is the picture of her first ride....she looks like she is holding on for dear life. They rode several times today and you will definitely see the progression of her enjoyment level.
Our FP time for TSMM was open so we headed over and we all had a great time. This is one of Jasmine's favorites and the boys and Alexa really enjoyed it as well. We were hoping that we could get on again later but the line was always super long.
We had some time until our FP on Star Tours so we headed in that direction and stopped for a bathroom break and some photos on the way.
They were not getting that surprised look in their face real good....Jasmine and I said that our photo came out much better
Angel and Alexa did get into character for their next photo however.
After our visit with the Jedi we were going to split up. Olaf decided to pose once we got off the attraction.
Jasmine and the boys were going to head over to the ESPN ZOne for lunch and maybe minature golf and the girls and I were going to enjoy lunch at the Sci-Fi and then head over to the resort for a bit at the pool.
Ok it was hot today....really, really hot. I guess the idea of walking to the BW or playing golf just did not sound too promising because as we were being seated in the Sci-Fi I got a text from Jasmine that said they had decided to see if they could get a walk up and they did at 50s PT. I told them enjoy lunch and we would see them when we were all finished.
Alexa was really exicted for this ADR as she thought it looked so cool and she was not dissappointed.
I wasn't going to eat much as we had dinner later tonight at MM but I ended up having a burger and a shake. The chef came over to discuss allergies and Angel was very happy that the chef said she could make Angel a shake as well so that made her happy. The girls wanted to share a burger and onion rings so that is what they did.
I had recieved a text from Jasmine that they were heading to One Man's Dream so once the girls and I finished up we headed out.
Up Next: Singing in the Rain and Leeor takes a voyage
