August and Everything After WDW - Trip Report - Thread 2 **Updated 11/1** COMPLETE - Page 19 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Okay, I started this....got a good little ways in, and lost it. So now you get the cheap version...
We got up on our last morning, got ready, and headed out to the MK. We decided to drive so we could have more time there. We were going to park at the TTC but stupid me took the wrong way and ended up heading towards the MK resorts, so we're bad and parked at the Poly.
We made it in time to see the opening at the MK which was nice since we hadn't seen it since our first visit....
We had some nice little comments for this section, but guess what, they're gone... oh well
Here's pics...
Leaving POFQ
So we got in and the first thing we wanted to do was get a sweet cream cheese pretzel since we couldn't get one at EMH. Andy told a story about how we watched the last one be sold to the guy in front of him...but that's part of what I lost.....so there's the abridged version...
Anyway, we get over to the Lunching Pad only to find out NO pretzels yet. Come back at 9:30 they say. So we decided to hit up Buzz a couple times. We were determined to hit the spot that racked up the points. We walked right on twice which was cool.
So after that we checked on pretzels... no pretzels yet. I was getting a little pertrubed cause I was !! Then I spotted Stitch and all was well I was in the middle of this story when I lost everything, so I guess I'll go back to the orginal cut....
(I should add this really ticks me off b/c the one that bothers me the most is having to repeat myself!).... Yes I know I should save it in something else...but it's easier since we're both talking (even though you haven't heard boo from Andy yet b/c we lost it)...
Actually you have heard from me it just got edited out in the Reader's Digest version...
Okay, back to the Stitch story. So we got the usual sequence I noticed here...
Pins..
hands...and talking
hugs and laughs
So I had decided that the usual smiling photo wasn't good enough this time b/c it's all we ever do. I had concocted an idea for this photo. I had to explain it to Stitch of course...
Stitch listened very closely as you can see....
And the outcome is the photo that is now plastered up on our fridge...
LOVE IT!!!
So after fun with Stitch we checked on pretzels again... NO PRETZELS!! So we decided to ride Buzz again
This time we just goofed off as you can see by our ride photo...
I don't know if it's the fact we've rewritten this or not but I feel like we've ridden Buzz like 50 times.....
Close... not quite 50...
So still no pretzels since we continued to stalk after Buzz. So we decided to ride the Astro Orbiter b/c there was no wait there either. I'm not a big fan of this ride b/c it is verrrry high and spins a lot faster than I care for that high up in the air But Andy really likes it...
A nice photo and a stupid photo to continue the theme of the trip.
You were hoping a pretzel would fly into your mouth right?
Totally!
So our stalking continued... no pretzels yet.... so we walked into Monster's Inc. This just gets funnier and funnier everytime we see it.
Melissa tried to go through the wrong door..
I was trying to get Mike's autograph....But he wouldn't let me in. That little booger.... ba dum ching.... cause he looks like a booger.... yeah...
One thing in the show that we thought was HI-larious was this poor foreign lady on her cellphone. The guy that interacts with ya....what's his name... the purple guy. Anyway, he whips out his cellphone on the screen and "calls" her... so she ends up in the spotlight and she has no clue whats going on. She spoke English but very little, so they talked to her but the person next to her had to translate... it was just funny.
So after the comedy club we checked again on the pretzel. We're not obsessive or anything...
And LO AND BEHOLD, cue the choir of angels, they had some ready!!!
So we both got one and sat down to enjoy. Andy took pictures of me eating which I was able to turn into a gif...
And then I decided it's way funnier to look at it backwards...
EWWWW Gross!
So after finding success with the pretzels we decided to ride Stitch really quick before leaving Tomorrowland. I didn't get my seat that I always sit in... I swear I always end up in the same seat and I like my same seat. BUT, I think I found a new seat. Cause we both TOTALLY got directly spit on. I just love when he turns around after being called cute and makes his little "Awww" sound. He's so cute!
After Stitch we walked towards Fantasyland. We stopped off to ride the teacups... and were spotted by a fellow PP'er in line. And they have to forgive me b/c I can't remember now who it was. See what happens when you don't take notes?!?! I remember faces, but not names. So please help me! If you talked to us there, please remind me!!!
A self shot in line...
Then we decided to go into Toon Town. We haven't been in there since our first trip either. We just missed some dang dream FPs b/c we saw EVERYBODY coming out of there with them on. We have horrible timing. Maybe if we hadn't been so set on that dang pretzel.........
The dang pretzel was worth it. I'm thinking of going and getting some pretzels and getting a turkey baster and some cream cheese and make my own.
They wouldn't be as good. They're not from WDW. Everything tastes better at WDW
We wanted to ride Goofy's Barnstormer as our "first" for this trip... so we hopped in line..
I took this shot on the ride...
It was cute and fun. Glad we did it
We moved on around towards the HM. We knew our time was coming to a close. OH WAIT, I just remembered. We FP'd Space Mountain that morning when we got there. When we went to use our FP it was broken down....so that's when we headed out of Tomorrowland... remember that for later..
So we hit up the HM. No real ghosts spotted this trip. Next time we'll be sure to carry our EVP recorder and EMF detectors with us... (we just watched SEVEN hours of Ghost Hunters Live last night... can you tell?? )
We may or may not have ridden BTMRR. I can't remember... and I don't have a pic of it which makes me think we didn't.... but I can't be sure. note to self...take a little notebook to take notes in on the cruise!
We made our way back towards Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain before heading home.
I took this shot on the way in...
We got in line and got right up to where we'd be boarding in about 2 more trips.... and it broke down. We waited... and waited. But we only had about 30 min. to wait before we had to go b/c we wanted to eat and shop before leaving. Finally they kicked us all out and gave us FPs to come back later. What a pain. I swear, everytime we try to ride SM it's broken down.
We were STARVING by now so we went to Casey's for some lunch. We sat at "our table" where we sat in Dec. when Andy gave me my earrings I had corn dog nuggets and Andy went with the hot dog....
I made a gif here, too
Nice right?
We passed our FPs on to a couple that sat next to us. They seemed to have just arrived and seemed to be newbies b/c they had busted out the MK map and were planning their day.... even though it was like 1pm already. But anyway, it was nice to help them out. The FP was good for any attraction that accepted FPs so that gave them a head start.
After lunch we mosied through the shops. I picked up a few things... a Monorail tshirt with the please stand clear of the doors spiel on it, a magnet of mickey's head with measuring equivalents on it, and the mickey carabeener (sp?) keychain which I keep house/car keys on one side, and school/library keys on the other so I can take off the school keys easily on the weekends.
All of your purchases were good.... you wear your shirt like every weekend, you've referenced the measuring magnet quite a few times, and you use the keychain EVERY dang day!
I'm a smart shopper
So, it was now time to go... and my feet were draggin a little slower and slower with each step...
Somebody else saw our self shot and took a pic for us..
We had to go so we could get home at a decent time b/c we both had work the next day. That next day was my first workday back to work. (By the way I wore my Donald "I flunked my anger management class" shirt... it was a total hit!)
We made the drive back home and were back by 10pm. It was another successful trip I think. Granted it helped knowing we'd be back so soon. I don't know what I'll do next year having been spoiled this year by being able to go so much.
Highlights of this trip:
Hanging out so much with Brandi and Pom. We those two and are so glad we've been able to get to know them. See you in three weeks you two!! (Pom, Andy just said to get his room ready....)
Just being stupid all around was pretty fun.
And our eating and drinking around the WS night was a blast!
So.... I think I can call this TR complete. It only took me, what, 2 months? That's not too bad. I KNOW I've drug others out longer than this
So...... be on the lookout for the PTR for our next trip.... it'll be up soon
Peace!!
Loflin...out
Talk about a wild and crazy ride. Thanks for taking us along. I hope the next time we can hopefullly have a get together if we are there at the same time.
Well, another trip report down - and another one in the future!
I will be very interested to learn how you feel about cruising with Mickey!
