Me, Muffin, Katie, Megan, the Adlers and Various Resorts!, - Page 17 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Thank you for sharing such a lovely brunch with us Tara! I would love to splurge and do that one day!
It is totally worth it!!

They were both amazing and the Minnie Van is so fun!!

With the amount they charge for this I think the wine view lounge is the way to go. The other classes of reservations don't give you the privacy you get with this as you're thrown in with the masses and don't have reserved seating, which would be a hassle considering the price tag. Great food offerings and all the little things like the private bar, cheese cart and great servers make this special. Will have to do this one day, even though so expensive, but not as expensive as Victoria & Albert's.
Your Cali brunch looked amazing as well and glad the four of you enjoyed it so much! I loved this when I did this last year and a great way to start my MK day. The buffet was amazing with all the choices, mimosas and of course the bloody Mary bar, which I took advantage of for a custom one. They were so good. Glad you also enjoyed using the Minnie Vans for the first time. Are these available now from all the resorts? I thought they were just from certain resorts.
They were both favbulous meals and experiences!! The Minnie Van was available at all of the resorts we stayed at and went to!!
It's just as well I wasn't hungry before reading these couple of updates!
Honestly, you didn't know about the entrance between the UK and Canada? I'm really surprised, only because that's where the Millennium Village was in 1999-2000 that highlighted a number of nations - from memory, Ireland, Brazil and Sweden were amongst them? Since then, they've kept the building for special occasions.
We decided to give the Party for the Senses a miss, as we felt the prices got stupidly expensive. Remind me, are the drinks included? By the way, loved the cow photos!
It sounds like a wonderful brunch at the California Grill, but then again, I'd expect nothing less. We're looking to try out the new Minnie van services in January.
Both experiences were amazing, Cheryl!! I really didn't know about that entrance but that is one of the things i love going back!!

When I last left off, we were waiting for our Minnie. An to pick us up at the Contemporary to take us to AK. Our ride arrived and we met another awesome CM, Steven!! He told us the funniest story on the way there about when he first moved to Florida and was all excited about seeing an alligator on his very first day here. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an armadillo!
He got us safely to our destination in what seemed like no time at all!!
We walked around Discovery Island and did It’s Tough to Be a Bug:
Then we strolled around some more just enjoying this beautiful park:
Then we made our way to Pandora for FP+ on Na’vi River Journey:
The Adlers loved this ride and I was so glad that we were able to switch things up!! We walked around Pandora some more and realized how thirsty we were so we stoped at Satuli Canteen for a drink.
Great shots of the kangaroos!
I always liked It's tough to be a bug, but no one in my family likes it, so we always skip it.
You got some cool photos in Nav'i River Journey too! The couple that I took turned out blurry.
Sounds like a fun day so far! Is the Minnie Van service through Lyft and, if so, do they charge the same as if it was any Lyft service outside of Disney (if that makes any sense)? The vans are so cute! Glad the Adlers enjoyed the Navi River Journey ride so much.
Great time at AK so far and I always enjoyed ITTBAB, but it's over before you know it. Pandora looks amazing glad you all enjoyed NRJ. Love the theming! Funny story from your driver!

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
The Party for the Senses does look like an incredible event. Neat analogy to Cinderella. The Minnie vans are just adorable. Brunch at Cali Grill looked like another success in dining!
What a great start to your day! Brunch looks amazing, and you’re off to a great start at AK!!
It was and we were!!

It was so fun!! The Minnie Van service is through Lyft and they charge a flat 20 bucks no matter where you go on property! The drivers are all CM's and the two that we had were so much fun to interact with!!

We had such a great time here and the gorillas were so active and funny!! We made our over to KS for our next FP+.
Next we went to see FOTLK:
We all loved the show and when we were done, it was just about time for our dinner at Tiffins. The thing is, we realized that after our huge brunch and huge dinne4 last night, none of us were that hungry. I went up to the podium at Tiffins and asked if we could trade our meal for a light one and a some drinks at the Nomad Lounge. The hostess said that it would be no problem at all. We had the dinner package with ROL booked and we were able to just make our last FP+s for the day for the show, so this worked out great!!
We went onto the Nomad Lounge and ordered some drinks and some appetizers to split which worked out perfectly!! We got a cheese tray and a charcuterie tray and we each got a nice adult beverage. However, it took so long for our stuff to come out that I didn’t take any photos of it. We ate it all so I will say it was very good!! I do have a few pictures from the meal:
Finally, we went to our last FP+ of the day to see ROL!
This show was beautiful and we loved the story!! It was very cool how live performers, floats and projections all came together as well!! We will definitely make a point of seeing this next year and we are so glad we finally got a chance to see ROL!!
We headed towards the park exit and stopped for a PP picture on the way out:
We took the bus back to the Boardwalk and again went right to bed.
