***PassPorter's December Gathering 2009: Event Schedule***UPDATED 11/9/09***Ornament Exchange Info Added!!! - Page 17 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Since I am going to be there ONLY on the 12th, I thought maybe some people might want to meet us too.
That was our thinking. I'm not keeping up with which park for which day - to be honest, I'm making my plans around what pops up and with Wendy only there for one night and having said she wants to see the Osborne Lights that night, I figured we'd extend the invite to everyone else - it would be rude not to....
I'm confused. I thought that Karen and gang were hosting one on the 13th. Maybe they decided not to since they haven't posted in awhile. Chrissi isn't updating either so maybe we're all waiting on something. I thought the 12th was our Epcot day. Well anyways, glad that you're going to be there Miss Wendy.
We'd still love to host a meet, but certainly don't want to impede anyone else either. We were waiting until we had official word on the parks of the day. Is that still going to happen, or will it just be based on consensus from this forum? In any case, I'd like to at least listen to the Candlelight Processional (may not wait for a seat, but watching from in front of the American Adventure with a cup of hot cocoa is fine with me! ) Given how tight the schedule is, I'd probably do that on the designated Epcot night. So, if that's Saturday, then my gang will host another DHS meet (might turn it into Toy Story or general EMH meet) on Sunday. If the official DHS night switches to Saturday, then we can have our meet be the dessert to Cheryl and Wendy's meet!
My very lose plans at this point:
--Arrive Thursday, Dec 10th about 11AM - parks for the day open (if they have a DVC member holiday event like last year, I'd love to go to that)
--Friday, Dec 11th, Magic Kingdom all day and for MVMCP (Sha, Heather, and I are going to try to do the Ultimate Magic Kingdom touring plan, but anyone's welcome to join for a portion)
--Saturday, Dec 12th, Morning EMH at DHS and afternoon and evening at Epcot (assuming it's the park of the day)
--Sunday, Dec 13th, Morning at Animal Kingdom, Evening at DHS (again assuming those are the parks for the day)
--Monday, Dec 14th, open (probably want to go back to Epcot) leaving about 5:30PM
Not that I think anyone cares where I'll be 24/7, but thought it might be helpful for what we were thinking about meets! Sorry I've been bad about keeping up to date here, but I thought we were waiting until things became more official!

I love that idea my husband and I did this last year and it was really wonderful!

That's exactly the view I've been taking as well. The only reason we mentioned the Osborne Lights is simply because we know that's what we're going to be doing that night, as it's Wendy's only night with us and that was her request. Outside of that and a few other loose plans (the Christmas Party on the Friday night), I'm waiting to see what the official line-up is too...
DH and I want to go to the Candlelight Processional while we are down in December. We have never been before. Until we make plans for that, we will make no other plans. Then again there is the issue of "we are not planners". I have a hard time committing to anything so far out. I have a lot going on between now and December with a trip coming up in a few weeks, a trip to Block Island in October and a teacher conference in November in Washington DC! However, all of the ideas that people have talked about sound like lots of fun.

Thanks for the update Karen and Kathy. My guess is that we're waiting til Sept. when the hours come out before ironing out our plans. (even though I want to plan everything ) And Karen, I'm interested in everyone's plans. I'm getting to Disney on Monday for "me" time and by Friday it's all (or mostly) about PP's.
As far as the CP, I stood outside for part of it in 2007. I could see and hear just fine. I even got a few nice pictures. So that may fit into my plans again as well - we'll see.
As you can tell, I'm very OCD and I've been waiting to plan this trip since Mousefest '07. I know. I need to do this trip every year instead of every other year. I'm working on it. (not the OCD part but the part about getting to WDW in December every year but don't tell my DH)

I'm guessing that she's looking for mental health help vs. trip planning help but I could be wrong.

Or maybe a little of both
Need a cruise for 2010 & a tree-house villa for 2011.......
It has been over 100 here for 2 weeks, May need some cool down help too!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish I could send you both some relief from the heat. I never understood how the blasted heat could effect a person until we experienced it. We had upper 90's with heat index of 109-113. That's stupid hot for us. I had a headache the whole week/week and a half and was grumpy. The heat broke Thursday. Today was 80 with 39% humidity. Kept the windows open last night and today. The temp at night is in the upper 50's. Nice!
