What a Wonderful World!!! PTR updated 11/26/2014 - Page 17 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Three updates!!! You've gotten three updates in, and I've only gotten one finished...and I was back before you were! Lol! I had to laugh at that picture of Andre and Josie sleeping in bed together. It reminded me so much of my brother and I when we were little. He would beat the crap out of me in the middle of the night.
And so cool that you met Kelly Slater. When we were on our honeymoon, Bethany Hamilton was on our hotel shuttle bus. And I'm really wanting to know what it felt like to go on that Aqua Dunk. Not a huge fan of drops, and it sounds like that's what shocked Arnaud a bit. Although it didn't really seem to bother him too much since he kept going back for more.
all caught up. Sounds like a great day before the cruise - surfing and catching up with family. Your departure and first day on board sound just wonderful. you can tell how tired the kids are watching the movie - always the sign of a good day.
Great first night! How fun to swim and then relax and watch a movie on deck. I don't blame you for not swimming and trying out the Aqua Dunk, but glad that Arnaud got to enjoy it!
Maybe I missed this earlier in your report, but what deck was your cabin on? I'm curious about the noise level for rooms on deck 8 with the pool right above it.

All caught up, what a great first day! I love that you had the whole deck to yourselves, that's pretty rare unless you're up super early in the morning.
Ok this morning was exciting for many reasons. First, we were pulling into CC. Second, tonight was formal night, and lastly……….this will be the last day we see land for 6 straight days!!!!! So bathing suits and lotion on, we hit up Cabana’s for breakfast. I loved being just one floor down from there, so it was always a quick little walk. We filled up and were ready to hit the beach.
It was a gorgeous day in paradise that is for sure, so we took the walk to the first family beach and set up camp. The kids ran straight to the water for a little fun, but I had to round them up quickly because the characters were starting to come out and boy did we make out timing wise. It was like ping pong………back and forth to the 2 areas where we met, in a matter of minutes……….Goofy, Mickey and Minnie, Pluto and then Donald and Daisy. Whew, with that done now we were really off to go play.
Soon Arnaud took off with Josie to go snorkeling, poor Andre wasn’t old enough yet, so him and I played in the water and the sand and then took a little shade break from the heat where he cuddled up with me. I will never get tired of those moments!!!
Once the other half came back from snorkeling, we were all a bit hungry for lunch and I could hear the BBQ calling for us. We made our way over to Cookies and grabbed a table and then I hit up the buffet line for all kinds of good eats for the family. Josie went into FULL detail of her snorkeling adventure. She saw a real sunken pirate ship!!! Like no mom, FOR REAL!!! Lunch was great and hit the spot. I knew were close to that little splash area, so we headed there next.
Note to self, and anyone interested. I know when I’m at the beach I just take off without my flips on…………however I ALWAYS forget how hot the walkways are down there and then you wind up playing this little dancey walk, jig, trying to find shaded areas to walk because your feet are burning. Getting to the splash area fast was quite the feat. As usual, Andre was having the time off his life here. So we sat in the shade and watched the 2 goof balls have a great time.
Soon Josie wanted to snorkel again, so back to our spot we went for those 2 to have some more fun finding any and all sea creatures. I wish I had taken video of Josie explaining everything she saw, that girl is so animated with her storytelling, and she cracks me up.
So now we are all just swimming around and kinda making our way over to that play area in the water, not the Pelican Plunge, but that smaller area. Josie was taking off like crazy and Andre started to get cranky the further out we were getting. Soon enough he turned into a full on crank and was just screaming his head off………..for what??? Who knows, but I pulled him in and said TIME OUT! No one on this beach wants to listen to a screaming kid, for no real reason. So out of the water I took him and walked him all the way back to our spot to give him a good old time out. He eventually calmed down and soon Arnaud and Josie came back. It was close to 2pm by now and all ashore this day was 2;45, so we decided to say bye to CC for now and head back to the boat.
As we were walking up the path the tram and pulled in and I thought since Andre was obviously getting tired it might be a good idea to take that back to the ship.
A few more last minute pics of the island and back on the boat we went. Once in the room I decided to just shower the kids up and let them chill in the room watching a movie while Arnaud and I got all jazzy. This was a wise decision because Andre passed out on the couch so we let him sleep until the last minute to get him ready. At first he wasn’t too happy about getting all fancy, but then when he saw daddy, he was game.
We made our way down to the atrium to get some formal shots, which I will go back and post once I load them. Then off to dinner at Cariocas.
After dinner we dropped the kids off at the club for a little bit while we decided to hit up Keys and have an anniversary cocktail. I can’t remember for the life of me what type of martini Arnaud ordered me……..but it was STRONG!!!!! Not so tasty either, but I drank it and we listened to the piano player. Then all of a sudden I hear her start playing “What a Wonderful World” then she wished us a Happy 10th wedding anniversary. Shucks…………..my man made me cry then asked me to dance!!!! It was so sweet and makes me love him more every day.
I knew I had to be cut off at this point, the wine from dinner and then that martini, I think I was in a happy place, let’s keep it there. So we went to get the kids from the club and I wound up finding a superhero named Andre!!!!
We walked around the boat for a bit with the kids and ran into some friends. We found our way back to the room and got ready for bed. Nothing but ocean for the next 6 days!!!!!! Relaxation begins NOW!!

Great day!! Can't wait for the pics of all 4 of you dressed up, as you all look pretty spiffy!! Love Andre's bow tie!
And how sweet of Arnaud to request a song for an anniversary dance. Melting!
What a great evening! Pool all to yourselves, and lounging to watch a movie! Sounds good to me!
It was a PERFECT decision!!

Yeah, he got many more rides in on that thing...........my experience on it will come in the next update

Weird, right?? Maybe I was scammed, but I wouldn't think so ...........who knows.

The room was great, it was the showers I had issues with and the buttons never working for me

How exciting to do a transatlantic cruise to celebrate your 10 year anniversary!! So happy belated anniversary. My DH and I's anniversary is May 15th and we just celebrated 15 years! Cool that you are also celebrating your 40th! I turned 40 in January and while I wanted to celebrate it in WDW and couldn't I will be celebrating in WDW in October. I hope you celebrated like crazy girl!!!!
Looks like the cruise started off great! Everything just looks amazing and the kids look like they were having the time of their lives!
Can't wait for more!!!!
Thank you so much and congrats and Happy Birthday to you as well. I kinda celebrated a bit much in this last update I just posted.............eh, we had fun and I could still function, so that's a plus!!

Fun night!
I found that the pool was always pretty quite at night, I think lots of people were off doing things and the kids would be in the clubs, we do things backwards all the time, so in this case...........we scored!!!

I hear you on the bunk bed situation - we've told them Lukas was too young the last time but next time he gets top bunk.
And I don't know why it's so awesome but it's just so different on a cruise - it feel so special!
Sorry my friend, you have to do it at least once!!! Pool time at night was always fun to me as a kid, so I made sure to squeeze it in. You will LOVE the Magic!!!

Well we didn't really "meet" him.........just kinda gawked at him as he was passing us by

We were on Deck 8 and I was worried about the noise, but it was a non issue. I think maybe an inside cabin would hear that noise more, since we were on the outside of the ship, not too much movement of deck chairs in that location.

I laugh at that super early comment because ya know what's coming up in the days ahead...........changing time zones
I love the photos of the kids in the water. So cute that Josie loved the snorkeling and was so excited about her "discoveries". You all look gorgeous gussied up for dinner. Andre with his bow tie--adorable! Nice romantic moment at Keys and great photos around the ship. I'm ready for 6 sea days now!
What a fun day at Castaway Cay - although I couldn't help but think how weird it was to then go into the formal night, as usually that tends to follow a day at sea, certainly all the cruises we've been on. We absolutely adored Keys and spent a fair bit of time there.
Sounds like an awesome day. I mean, how could it not be when you're at CC? And what a sweet moment that Arnaud made happen. It's the little things in life.
Ah! CC! Can't wait to get back there. Sounds like you had an awesome day there - up until Andre's incident, but sounds like he just needed a nap!
You all look so good on formal night! Arnaud is sure a keeper!
And I'm so glad you loved the ship so much - we're trying it out next year!

CC looked like a lot of fun!!!
You guys looked snazzy in your formal attire.
Glad you got to get away and have an anniversary cocktail just the two of you!
Can't wait for more adventures!!!
Looked like a gorgeous day on CC! That clear, blue water... love it!! You all looked so wonderful on formal night! What a beautiful family! The bands that the kids are wearing look just like Magic Bands in the pictures. Is that what they're using in the kids' clubs now?
