Girls Trip to the World! TR COMPLETED 11/9 Wedding Pictrues Posted - Page 16 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Just getting caught up again! What a great time you guys are having! Love all the pictures and the great eats that you've had! Sorry that you fell again!
We really did have some great meals! The TS meals were usually the highlight of each day! In addition to the great food, it's so nice to sit and relax and enjoy the surroundings.
We got to France about 7:10 and couldn’t resist getting a crepe to share!
Then we browsed in a few shops.
And got our last CM picture:
Then we went into Impressions of France.
This is such a beautiful show! The views are just breathtaking and the music is outstanding! The feeling I get flying over the beautiful countryside is comparable to Soarin’! In fact, I’m going to say that I like this just as much as Soarin’! And it’s 18 minutes long! After the show we spent some time in the gift shop and I bought some coasters.
Then it was 8:00 and we checked in for our ADRs at Les Chefs de France.
We were seated about 8:15. Our server was Noemie. She was so cute and very friendly! Kate and I chose the Prix Fix meal. Kate got lobster bisque, short ribs and the puff pastry dessert. I got French onion soup, salmon and chocolate mousse cake, and Liz got duck confit and the crème brule.
Everything was so good! And again, so much food! We were all very stuffed! Uncomfortably stuffed! I think having the soup first really filled me up.
We finished about 9:30, after watching fireworks from Illuminations from our seats.
A picture with Noemie:
Then we were off for a leisurely stroll around WS and to the exit. It was a great evening at Epcot!
On previous evenings, we’d brought our sweaters with us just in case the restaurant was chilly. And we never really needed them for the restaurants, just the bus ride back to the resort. On this night, we decided not to bring the sweaters, mainly because we’d left earlier and didn’t feel like carrying them all the while we walked around Epcot. So, tonight as we boarded the bus, we remembered a tip that a gentleman had told us the night before – sit in the very back of the bus because it’s warmer back there. So when we boarded the bus, that’s where we headed and it was true! It is much warmer in the back of the bus! The motor is directly behind the back seats, and it was nice and toasty all the way back to POR.
When we got back to POR it was time to pack. And it was then that I discovered our photopass card was missing! I usually take a picture of it, but I neglected to do that this trip. We figured that the last photo we had taken was in Epcot by a CM named Louis from Marseille, France. I’m guessing he did not give the card back to us. I remembered hearing that they are able to find lost photos so we weren’t too worried. We decided we’d stop in the MK photo shop tomorrow morning and hopefully they could help us.
I worked on my TR notes and we set the wakeup call for 5:45. Then to bed at 12:10.
The weather today was hot, but overcast.
The best thing today was sleeping in and relaxing at the POFQ pool
The worst thing today was being too full after the meal at Chefs de France
The funniest thing today was Sergio
Today we tried chocolate caramel fudge in Germany
And the result was delicious!
The most magical moment today was Impressions de France
Did not wear the pedometer today, so I don’t know how far we walked.
I have to admit, reading your TR made me go out and get a pedometer. I'm not really a desk jockey, so I'm not worried about my fitness. But we're surprising the kids this trip - in the past, we've had time to get in shape. DH thinks I'm over-thinking how tired the kids will be, and I mentioned your 8+ miles a day. He's still skeptical, so I got a pedometer! It's not just to prove it to him, I'm just really curious.
I should put it on my DS, though, since he never walks in a straight line. He probably walks a third again as much as the rest of us...
More great pictures from France! And another great meal! I hope you were able to get the Photopass card back!
I know - I was a little concerned about finding our photos at first, but I remembered people on PP saying that the CMs in the photo shops could retrieve them if you were able to give them some clues as to where you'd had your last few pictures taken, so I was a bit more optimistic then.
Wonderful photos from France--I love Impressions de France and the meal looked outstanding!
It's interesting how you get the same almost weightless "Soarin" feeling as you're flying through the various scenes. And the music is so beautiful. The Camille Saint-Saens organ symphony at the end is one of my favorites! I could listen to that forever.

It is amazing how many miles you put on each day. And make sure you put it on before you go to the main building for breakfast items, or walk to the bus stop. Those little treks add up!
Dinner at Les Chefs looks so delicious! I remember feeling extremely full from our lunch there a couple of summers ago. Great nighttime shots, too! Thank goodness we've already seen PP photos so we know you were able to retrieve them.
What a wonderful evening in France! How annoying about the Photopass card, but obviously it turned out OK in the end, as we've already seen a lot of your Photopass pics.

Can't wait to hear the rest! Sounds like a nice evening in Epcot and a great meal at France!
I just love walking around in Epcot after everyone has already left! It was interesting though, how many people passed us going the other way as we were going through UK and Canada. It took a minute before I realized they were heading toward the International Gateway exit.

I always seem to be going against the crowd, lol. I don't use the gateway either!
I was up at 5:45 and got showered and dressed. I woke the girls up and while they showered and dressed I finished my last minute packing. We were out the door by 7:00. We stopped at airline check-in to check our luggage, and get our boarding passes. Then we left our carry-ons with baggage storage. And off to the bus stop to MK for our breakfast at CP. Oops, I forgot I wanted to stop in at the desk to tell them we did not get a print-out of our charges on our door this morning. The girls went on to the stop and I made a detour to the front desk. After talking to the CM about it, I rushed back outside; hoping the bus for MK was not at the stop. As I was walking toward the stop, I wasn’t paying attention to the curb, and tripped and fell again! That makes three times in the last few days! As I was picking myself up off the pavement, a nice woman came over and asked if I was alright. I told her yes, and thanked her. Then limped off to the bus stop and saw that Liz was coming to check on me as well. Again, the girls were concerned, but it was really just a combination of me going too fast and not watching where I was going. When I sat on the bench at the bus stop, I realized that I’d scraped my knee and it was bleeding. Luckily I had some antibacterial wipes in my backpack and they worked well to clean it up. All better!
We waited about 7 minutes for a bus and were on our way to MK. On the bus Katie told us that she’d had a dream that we went to the photo shop and they were able to find all of our photopass photos. Hopefully, this would prove to be true!
We arrived about 7:45 and went to the photo shop to check on our photopass card, but they were not open yet.
So, we strolled down Main Street taking pictures and stopping for a photopass picture. They'd just hung the Halloween decorations the night before!
At 8:10 we checked in at Crystal Palace, then took some more photos while we waited.
We were seated about 10 minutes later. Piglet was at our table within a few minutes.
Our server was Rob, and after he got our drink orders and explained about what was available at the buffet we made our first trip up to the line. Unfortunately, we were so hungry and the food looked so good, that I forgot all about taking pictures of our plates the first time around. Soon Tigger came around and we all got our photos with him.
Then we all made a second trip to the buffet. Pictures this time!
A little while later, as we were finishing up (after my third trip for some Pooh Peach Cobbler – yum!) Pooh and Eeyore came by.
It was a delicious meal and we got some great character pictures.
And after paying the check and taking a bathroom break we were ready for our morning at MK!
