As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sure you had that wine AFTER the popcorn incident . . . cause it sure sounds like something that would happen in my house . . . in fact I wonder if that is why the microwave quit working. Glad everyone is having fun!
Jill.. I am loivng reading your TR. I can relate to the burnt popcorn. I was working nightshift one night at the hospital and we made some popcorn and it set the smoke alarm off. We had the fire department there and the alarm went off in the whole hospital. Now no more popcorn is allowed to be popped in the hospital.
Ok Jill My DS(5) and I were watching a Disney video yesterday. Disney Parks--Where the Magic Begins. I was watching the WDW section about TofT and I promise you are on that ride in the video. Your wearing a green tank top. Is that you, or do you have a twin? Its really a fast clip, but it was enough of a resemblance to catch my attention. Just curious if you had moved up from being Passporter famous to being Disney video famous. That would be so cool!! Love your trip reports. Especially this one since we just bought into BLT DVC and will be staying there for the first time in Sept. JOY!!

Although I would LOVE for that to be me, I doubt that it is. I just started riding ToT again a couple of years ago and I don't think I have a green tank top! Can we just say it's me though???
Sounds like a great night at the MK, even though you had to say goodbye to friends How cute that the girls got celebration buttons for making new friends.
Love the pictures of Space Mountain, I have often wondered what we all must look like in "mid-ride" being that you are in the dark and cannot see anything in front of you (neverless yourself), I am glad that they added the pictures there.
Popcorn and wine sounds like the perfect meal (without sprinklers coming on off course ).
IAn so loving your TR Jill, with Karen's additions too. Looks loike you are having a wonderful time with so many PPer Friends. I'm so sorry to hear about that horrific ride on KS, and I'm so sorry to hear MD was so shooken up by it. Glad to hear she's ok now from it. That is unbeliaviable that The CM & Manager didn't take Thom's name and contact info to follow up to make sure everyone was ok. I know bruises hurt like crazy, but glad it wasn't worse. Your girls are just the cutest, but ai will say seeing the pictures of Maddie with the Map and her eyes over her ice cream at RR in Sharon's TR are the cutest(and the picture of Maddie with her ice Cream at RR reminds me of an episode of Full House and Michelle with her ow-scream). Looking foward to more please.
Thom had to work today, so he was gone by 7 a.m. and even managed to throw a load of laundry in before he left. Mary Devall had a date later in the day with Karen, Sharon and Zack for the Wildlife Discovery Tour (that had been the surprise that was revealed to her the day before), but she also had been invited to breakfast by them at Donald’s this morning.
When I woke her up at 8 a.m. and asked if she wanted to go to breakfast, at first she said and sat up. As she started to get out of bed, she thought better of it and said “Actually . . . ” and threw herself back down. I sent Karen a quick text telling her that Mary Devall was going to sleep in.
We all slept hard until 10 a.m. when my phone rang. It was Thom, but he quickly signed off when he realized that we were all still sleeping. We all gradually woke up and got ready for the day.
Before we headed for the bus stop, we stopped to throw our laundry in the dryer. Poor Maddie fell down as soon as we left the building and got a boo boo on her knee (she hadn’t wanted her stroller this morning). She cried for a little bit, but was better once I told her that we would get a band aid at AK. Not only did she get a Band Aid at the First Aid Center, but she got a spritz of Bactene which thrilled her to no end. “I was so brave, wasn’t I, Mommy?”
We were soon meeting up with Karen, Sharon and Zack. While Mary Devall and Zack went to ride PW, the rest of us went to KRR to wait for them. They had a fun ride, but ended up not getting back in time for us to ride KRR before their tour. Maddie had a little photo op while we were waiting.
While they took off for their tour, Maddie and I decided to take the short walk to Y&Y CS for our lunch. I ordered sweet and sour chicken for me and chicken bites for her, but I also stopped for a Yak Attack at the outside bar before we found a table. I really enjoyed sitting out there with her just eating and talking about anything and everything. I gave her a choice of things to do and she asked for “characters.”
On our way to Camp Minnie-Mickey, we stopped by the Baby Center to buy some baby wipes. While I was buying them, Maddie discovered The Fox and the Hound on the television and I had a time getting her out of there!
When we finally made it to Camp Minnie-Mickey, we saw every character that they had. Maddie had a blast. We started with Thumper and his girlfriend,
Thom called to let us know that he was on his way over (with Maddie’s stroller) while we were in one of the lines and he located us right before we saw Minnie. He was in great spirits because he had a successful door morning.
After Maddie had taken a few pictures with Minnie, her character handler suggested that she sign Maddie’s Minnie fannie pack with a Sharpie. Maddie was thrilled.
