As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

* shock, gasp--elizabeth, i'm having the big one * i so proud that your packing. our news was talking about the snow 2-3" in LA and TX. how very weird. pack some of those colder temps to bring with you. its 19 here this morning dbf, aka polar bear man, almost put on long sleeves
i checked 3 different weather sites and got 3 different views of our time in disney. one has rain everyday, one rain one day and 70/60 temps and the last has several rain days and 70/50 temps. so i guess i'll stay with packing everything and the kitchen sink
We have been for 16 Mardi Gras straight, and seriously, I can only remember 4 or 5 rain days in all that time. So that is not something I am accustomed to dealing with. I am hoping if its going to rain, it at least cools us off some! lol

still trying for Tony's on Dec 7, but so far no luck. looks like CS for us. however, he did mention that he would like to try Fulton's so I got lunch there on the 9th, followed by dinner at Raglan Rd.
any one have any thoughts on Fulton's? I've read the reviews on All Ears and all that.i just wondered if any one has actually eaten there.
I haven't eaten there personally, but it looks really neat!!

Ditto on the rain. I didn't want to jinx myself by saying we bring heat and no rain, but it's usually true.
well, thought i'd post some updates. yvonne was the first to arrive with me shortly on her heels and i mean by about 15 minutes, literally! ha ha ha...i happened to have the day off yesterday and though i was on call all day, i took a chance to surprise her on her arrival. Sam was in on it, i told him friday night i might be able to drive over. so.....yep, she was surprised! we were chatting on the phone as i was on I-4 about 2 exits from WDW...she had no clue. they were just pulling in to OKW to drop folks off, then headed to SSR. I made it just after they had checked in and were heading over to their room...squeals of delight!
we headed over to epcot, the mitchell's on the ssr bus, and me in my car in case i had to leave to drive to work. while i waited for their bus to arrive at epcot, i took the opportunity to grab a photo:
after procuring their new AP's and tables in wonderland cards, we were on our way. oh, yeah, after posing for quite a few photopass shots....i'll only share one here....
off to sunshine seasons for lunch then a trip on soarin':
off to test track with a hilarious ride. they change the new cars at the exhibit frequently and we looked around for a few minutes (yah-von, kassie and myself eyeing the new cadillac suv, sam of course looking at the red truck!). Kassie snapped this for me:
after the great time on test track, we were off to mexico. ok, this is where yah-von and i always seem to find trouble. can i ask you all a question? is there REALLY anything educational on the "three amigos" attraction or is it fun? ok, that's what WE thought. anyway, i digress. having heard so much about the yummy new tequillaria, and having been unable to get to it before now (although, sharon, ben, maria and myself had given it an effort at food and wine) yah-von and i thought we'd give the margaritas a try:
she had the blood orange one, i opted for passionfruit. oh, that'd be kassie trying to get a sip of her mom's beverage....well, can i tell you, these beverages are pretty potent. now i am not a big drinker of tequilla and neither is yah-von. ha ha ha...so we were pretty happy as we boarded the "tres amigos" attraction.
singing and hilarity ensued....
...and dang it all if we didn't get "the look" AGAIN from the "lady" in front of us in the boat....omg...that is all we needed to continue our wild peels of laughter. after all, as i say, i did not know this was an educational ride that we needed to pay close attention to. what say the rest of you?????
