WIZARDS, REAL AND AMAZING, CHRISTMAS PARTIES AND CANDLELIGHT- PTR - Page 15 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Totally the right decision. You have no way of knowing if A) he really is her child and not an identity thief or stalker, B) You also don't know if Carol would want to establish any contact at all. Her family may not know she gave up a child for adoption.
What an uncomfortable position to put you in!
Thanks, Dot! Those are all of the things that I was thinking!
October 6, 2017-Enjoying an amazing dinner at Victoria & Albert's with PP's Dot and Drew
My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
Well, I got pretty much the fastpasses that I wanted this morning!! I have to say though, the first one I tried to book was Frozen Ever After on the second day and there was nothing available until the evening. But it's okay!! I just booked it for another day!! Overall, I am very pleased with the way things worked out and I think our entire trip has come together nicely!!
. These are our final plans for our trip!! Day 1-December 3rd. Sea World!!!!
Our flight should arrive in Orlando around 12:30 PM. We are going to ditch our stuff at Portofino Bay and head over to Sea World. We figure we should get to the resort by 2 PM and hopefully to Sea World by 3 PM. The park is definitely open until 10 PM so that will give us around 7 hours to tour it!
This may sound crazy to you guys, but we really just want to see the Christmas decorations and enjoy some of the evening festivities. I just bought tickets online to Sea World and also reserved tickets to the Christmas shows. It cost us an extra 29 bucks each but it sounds like it is worth it!! This includes:
Christmas Show Seating Package 10 P.M. Close – Early
Valid for one time reserved seating at our most popular Christmas shows. Must arrive 15 minutes prior to show time to receive your reserved seating to each Christmas Show. Shows included in this package are:
* Clyde and Seamore's Countdown to Christmas - 6:00
* O Wondrous Night - 7:00
* Shamu Christmas Miracles - 8:00
* Winter Wonderland on Ice - 8:30
That sounds like a perfect line up for us with a few hours to enjoy the park first!!
We will probably just grab food on the run today. We honestly don't care that much about rides here. We haven't been to Sea World in a number of years and we are very much looking forward to enjoying this park!!
Our total purchase for the day came out to 227.51.
Plans look good and glad you had pretty good luck with the FPs!

It makes perfect sense to me, especially with that package for the shows - those are great shows outside of the Christmas season, so I can imagine they're even better for the holidays!

It's been three and a half years since we have been to Universal Studios. We were last there in July 2013. We saw the original Harry Potter stuff and were very impressed with it and we just can't wait to see what else is there now!
It looks like there is also a new King Kong ride and we haven't experienced the Transformers attraction.
Honestly, I also can't wait to ride MIB again and The Mummy!!! I love this Universal so much more than the one in California. There are tons more attractions here and I love the layout!!
We plan to spend the entire day enjoying both theme parks today. We got Park to Park tickets and they are both open until 8 PM. For the evening, we plan to see Mannheim Steamroller!!! We absolutely adore this group and we will get there whatever time is necessary to see the show. There are no ticket sales for this event. It is a free concert and you can bet your bottom, I will camp out if necessary to see them!!
It is also almost as important to me to get a Butter Beer!!! I love this delicious concoction of Harry Potter lore and have never quite been able to conjure it up properly at home!! I am pretty sure it's just cream soda and butterscotch but I swear they put a spell on it or something!! Can't wait to have one or two!!
Other than that , we will see where the day takes us! We will definitely want to check out the newer Harry Potter stuff and definitely take the Hogwart's Express in between the parks!! I hope it's like the Chunnel!!
For lunch today I think we will try Cowfish on City Walk. We both love burgers and we both love sushi plus I just like the name of it!! The menu looks very interesting. This will be our big meal today and we will just get some snacks for the concert.
After Mannheim Steamroller, we will head back to Portofino Bay and chill out for the rest of the evening. I am so hoping that the Christmas decorations are cool as I would love to stroll around and get pictures!!
We also love staying on site here. Besides the convenience of it, you get some nice resort perks. The ones we will surely use are:
SKIP THE REGULAR LINES FOR FREE with Universal Express Unlimited ride access
Priority seating at select restaurants throughout the resort
Early Park Admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter one hour before the theme park opens
Complimentary transportation to both theme parks and CityWalk®
Water Taxis
Shuttle Buses
Resort-wide charging privileges with room key
Complimentary delivery of merchandise purchased throughout the resort to your hotel
Complimentary scheduled transportation to Sea World
We just love the whole atmosphere and accessibility of everything as well. IMHO, all of the onsite resorts are beautiful and unique and the walking paths are lovely!!
Next: Day 3-December 5th. More Universal!!!
.

Sounds like great plans for Universal. I've been there four times but not since 2009 as so much has changed since then. I need to return, but won't be this trip unfortunately, so hoping on my next one.
