As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Oh rain rain go away! I'm gla to hear you "duh" day turned out nice. Sometimes those are the best days just go with the flow. I haven't been to CRT since it was actually King Stefan's so maybe I should try to get back there. Evan is not too into princess and at 2 meal credits I doubt we will be heading there anytime soon.

You all are doing pretty good at getting pool time in before the rain sets in for the rest of the day. Sounds like a very magical Cinderella at CRT! Love the pictures of the kids with royalty. I actually found the selections at AKL CL's lounge much more to my liking than BC's CL, but we got the free upgrade at BC, so I wasn't complaining.
I've been tempted to eat at CRT, as we ate there on my first trip to WDW (when that was the ONLY park!). I may or may not have a coffee mug from there that my dad may have 'borrowed.' (Tacky, no?!) But I just can't justify the cost for bad food and bad service, with so many other options. Now, if my kids were little like yours? We'd be there in a flash!!
Love the rainbow! Must've been some of that derrière-derived pixie dust!!
This morning we had our same routine going, however since we were going to Epcot with normal opening times, we went down to the lounge a little later than normal…………….EPIC fail. The room was so crowded you could hardly move around. We got the kids set up first at the little kid table with some other little ones, then went off to get some grub for us. I thought we were going to have to stand around and eat, but we did see a table clear so Arnaud and I went and sat down and had the normal routine of oatmeal, yogurt, bagels, muffins and fruit…………oh and of course coffee.
Outside we went to bright sunny skies; however I almost had wished it was raining because the air was so thick I felt like I was dripping wet already. We got to the IG a little early I guess so we let the kids run loose until they let us through. Once inside we had a nice walk through an empty WS and headed right for the Character Spot. I know this is an unusual choice, but I like to meet our friends and get that out of the way first.
I can’t wait to see the new area when it’s finished because I for one have always hated the look of the old joint, and this set up, even though I know is temporary, really is tragic looking as well. Aside from that we had a great time meeting Mickey, Pluto and Minnie.
We went off to Soarin next and Josie did want us to get the riders swap pass so she could ride with us both. But once her and I got off the ride, Andre was really itching to do some stuff, so she was nice enough to say let’s just move on. Which we did, to LWTL. My kids just adore this ride and I see taking the Behind the Seeds tour will be in our near future!! We made our way to Nemo and TT, which both was great, except Josie had a mad melt down when she didn’t get a chance to talk to Crush. She just assumes whenever there is a microphone, she is to be on it. I had to have a “talk” with her and after some time, we got her back and moved over to check out Bruce and some tanks!!!
We hadn’t made any plans for lunch or dinner today so this morning we thought we would ask the CL peeps if maybe we could get a lunch ADR for CR. Sure enough we snagged an 11:30 and were super stoked as we have never even tried this place before. So off we went to check in.
We were lucky and got a table right in front of the tanks and immediately I got the glare from Arnaud…………why have we never eaten here before???? Whopsie dude, so sorry. We had a hard time deciding what to get because we wanted everything, but finally made up our mind on quite a few apps, a shared plate for lunch and what the heck…………..it’s our anniversary so add a bottle of wine to that as well. I hear all you gals and guys talk up this Conundrum so much, we went in that direction, and now I love you all more than I did before because it is flippin fabulous and we get it all the time now here at home, the red one too!!!!
Josie surprised me when she said she wanted to try the grilled mahi. I didn’t waste any time getting that ordered for her, when it came out I did allow her to put some ketchup on her plate, but after a few bites she turned to me and said that the fish tastes better without the ketchup!!!! YIPPIE!!!! This lunch, anniversary celebration was amazing and I think CR might be going on the to-do-must-do list from now on.
We headed over to see Tinks butterfly house and boy was I happy we were in there on a humid day, apparently the butterflies love the humidity and man did we see sooo many, in action too!!
Alter our amaze-balls lunch and visit with the fairies we let the kids run around in the play areas they set up for F&GF before we went back to the BC, which then we went straight down to the pool to enjoy some fun in the……………uhmmmm, the weird, blazing, bright ball of light in the sky, that is the sun I think???? I have started to forget what it looked like.

Love the not so matchy, but matchy outfits today. Great morning so far! Score on the CR ressie. Glad you all enjoyed it. I enjoyed the food that last time we were there, but the service lacked a bit - very slow! Yay for sun even if you had to suffer with the humidity!

Man, the rain didn't seem like it was going to give you a break. I have to agree with you about the servers and food at CRT. Big disappointment last year for Hope's birthday breakfast, but she didn't seem to notice, and that's what matters most. So happy you were able to try CR because as you know, that is one of my favorite restaurants EVER. And it was even better since you got a prime seat right up front. The kids must have loved that.
