The Two Week "Mini" Disney Vacation - Page 15 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

You need to call them when Jess and I are at the world!!! You can say, Hi! Is this Sparky/Jess? Wouldn't it be a riot if it was actually us!!!??!! I am telling you my Epcot days, so you can call!
Here they are...wed.9/14 evening/night, Fri 9/16 night (open till 12), and Sun 9/18 morning. You know I am going to answer any ringing phone there and ask "Is this Coop??"
Here is the link in here with the phone booth #'s, there are 3 of them!
Oh, and btw...Space Mountain is my fave ride EVER!!! I actually like RnRC the best, but SM beats it due to nostalgia. When I was 11 and my Gram (who was 56 at the time) took me to WDW. I wanted to ride SM, and she on the other hand did not like a lot of rides...from the teacups (I don't blame her) all the way to like Dumbo, she was just not a ride person. She loved IaSM, the shows, but most of all the landscape at the world. Swear to god, in 2005 when we went we had more flower and landscape pics out of the 400 something she took, than people! Anyhow, I digress, she didn't want me going on alone, so she bit the bullet and went on. She screamed her head off the whole time and her eyes had tears, she didn't cry, but I think she wanted to. It's one of my most fave memories! Because it's funny, but mostly because I know how hard (now) it was for her to get on that ride, but she did it for me! Awww.... I miss my Gram!

I will DEFINITELY call on those days! That would be a hoot if it was you or Jess! I could call one and Chuck could call the other so you can answer one and Jess the other - we could have a 4 way call! hahaha
What a great Gram story! She really loved you - esp to ride on SM! My rollercoaster story is this. I was in Cedar Point with my mother, two sisters and mother's boyfriend. I was approx 10 years old and the four of them were going to ride the Mine Ride (an old wooden rollercoaster). I was going to sit out. Didn't want to ride and since we were 5 people, someone had to either sit out or ride alone. So mother's boyfriend asked me to "hold his spot" while he went to get something to drink. Before you know it - I was at the front of the line and he was on the bench waving to us! So I haven't ridden a rollercoaster since. I'm working up to ride BTMRR this year. I think I can do this.
Nothing new on the Disney front, except I'm making more lists! Surprised? Nah- DH told me that it was a great way to de-stress at work. Lists are of what we have, what we need and what we want to do.
On the homefront - DH finished his play - with a bang (quite literally). He broke two ribs! On Friday night (when I was there with my BFF) he really got hit during a fight scene. The kid was supposed to duck Chuck's swing and then come up punching and he came up with his head in Chuck's side! Chuck is a trooper though - it never showed in the performance and he did 3 more performances over the weekend. He wouldn't let me take him to the ER that night. (I do have connections). So this am - he went in to work and got xrays and the Dr. he works with checked out his spleen, etc. and all is good.
Anyhow - that is the START to my busy busy week!

Ugh...that is awful Coop. No wonder you don't want to ride them. I would try BTMMR, it's not as fast as a regular roller coaster with no BIG ups and downs. My DH is going to try it for the first time this year. You can do it!!!
I think it helped with Gram that she knew what it was but had no idea bc you can't see in from the outside, so she didn't really know. Ya know? LOL
Alas, the phone 4 way would not work with Jess as she doesn't come in till the 19th and we leave on the 20th.

Well what do you know?!? I have an ADR at Cape May for 5:15 and then will be heading to Epcot. Not sure if I will make it to R&C by 7, but can probably be there 7ish.
Lol, Coop, you should totally call on one of my Epcot days. They're all listed on my PTR! (I am feeling too lazy to look them up right now.) It would be so cool! I guess we could always cheat and I could text you "I am at the red phone booths."

Mmmm....those things would make anyone better. I told Coop to tell you that I said "break a leg" not "break a rib!"
Sorry about the broken ribs, Chuck, but sounds like you have some good ideas on how to cure them. And you can never have enough lists! Luke laughs at my writing and rewriting of them.

Oh no! So sorry about the broken ribs! Hopefully they feel better soon. I'm going to have to check Walmart for the Eeyore tank on Thursday. I need to pick up a few more plain colors too, while they are on sale. Sounds like everything else is going well. As for the Owner's Locker debate--I have had one for a couple of years now and I love the service they provide. It allows us to travel a lot lighter than we would otherwise. For awhile I was even keeping an entire set of vacation clothing in mine so all I needed was my hand bag getting on the plane.
