The Neverland Gang Is Back...And I Don't Wanna Grow Up!! - Page 15 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So glad to see the update Dawn and any excuse is fine by me What a great morning at MK, looks like everyone had a great time on the tour and what fun you had on SplM. Love when you are totally soaked before you even hit the AC inside the ride. Love the of your Jason dancing and so glad he love the slide. the photos of the boys coming down the slide were great. Sounds like a yummy dinner at Le Cellier and Illuminations is a great way to cap off the evening. Sorry about your friendly spiders joining you for the walk back to the BC, they are just so creepy. Movie night sounds like a great way to enjoy your last evening.
I love your update Dawn! Yay for Jason trying out the big slide at SAB. Looks like a wonderful day at MK & WS! Great pictures! Your tour looked like so much fun(and yes I would love to be a Disney Dork enjoying that tour too). More please!
Disney is the best place to be a Dork. Even our teenager is a dork when he's there. I think it's something they put in the water that makes everyone feel like they can do whatever makes them happy and not worry about the level of dorkiness.

I am trying to get "the picture" of SE. I just LOVE it at night with all the colors. I swear the kid could sleep anywhere.

How cool that they do something for Bonfire Night - mind you, over here it's usually an excuse for lots of fireworks. Strange for Disney to miss out on the opportunity! It's also called Guy Fawkes Day and it's our celebration of when Guy Fawkes nearly blew up our Parliament, where our government is housed - I know, odd, but then we're an odd nation.... It's on November 5 by the way....
Ooookay! So you celebrate when Parliment was almost blown up...Cool! I knew you'd be able to lend us a hand on that one. Thanks Cheryl!!

Oh yeah, he's definitely got the music in him. Can't keep the wiggle out of him.

I have yet to try it... I'm adding it to the list. Your kiddos are sooo cute. The sleeping shot brings back tons of memories. I can remember hauling my not-so-lightweight DD up the huge hill at AKL and then what seemed like 5 miles to our room. Thank goodness she's old enough to wake up and do it herself!
Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip!
We really liked the tour. But like I said, I'm a Disney dork and was all over the interactive part of it. If you do that, you're sure to have a ton of fun. Isn't it amazing how the weight of a sleeping child seems to double from that when they are awake??
And we've got to plan our Disney Coffee soon!!!

Can't wait to try the Cheddar Cheese Soup & Filet Mignon!!! YUM!! And the movie on the beach......sounds like so much fun!! Can't wait to read more!!! Hurry back!!!
We've got a couple of really good dancin' videos. I'm going to put them all on one CD and pull it out on their first dates!! Evil, I know. The soup was fabulous and Craig's filet was much better than my prime rib so that is a good combo!

The big slide was a surprise to me, but I was glad Jason tried it. Tyler is our daredevil and will try anything. He gets it from me.

And can I tell you, that video of Jason dancing is my new favorite thing. When he does that little break dance kinda move with his arm, I just completely lose it! It's awesome! Looks like a great meal at Le Cellier (love the terrified children shot ). Thanks for the warning about the spiders - I am usually not paying attention when I take that path! Don't take so long for you next update, mmmkay?
You like the robot, huh? He's got some Thriller moves to that he breaks out every once in a while. He did at my friend's 40th surprise and stole the show. Women I've never met were dancing with him, guys at the bar were high-fiving him. Tyler is really more of the 'break dancer' (and I use that term very loosely ) a lot more 'floor time' for him. I'll try to get another post up before oh......August.

Sounded like a fun tour at MK. I will have to remember that one, the girls would have a blast. Glad Jason braved the big slide. What a trooper!
LeCellier looked delish as it always does in everyone's pics. Glad you got to try it.
I am going to the next PTO meeting and sitting on my hands and have instructed my friends if I look like I feel the need to put my two cents in, which is a HUGE problem I have, to basically tackle me or duct tape my mouth.

I'm a POLY lover and you are making me very interested in the BC. Maybe when my DD gets more into EPCOT it would be a good choice.
Excited to hear more!! Loving it.
We LOVE LOVE the Poly and stayed there twice before. My DH said he wouldn't leave it and was very hesitant to stay at the BC. But, I had always wanted to be able to just walk to Epcot. (I think it's sooo cool ) and now he says he'll never stay anywher BUT the BC. If you stay there, I am sure you wouldn't be disappointed.

We just had to sneak away from the tour for that picture. Tyler was too into the next clue that I couldn't get him away. I think you'd love the tour. The really nice part is that it is all 'on stage' and doesn't take away any of the magic for the kids. If anything, I think it adds more magic.

We had a couple of soaking wet trips on SplM and we loved it!! I think movie night on the beach was a highlight. I had read so much about the non-park special moments and I'm glad we had a really nice one on the beach. Yeah...not a fan of the eight legged ones. I am so afraid of them that my brother wouldn't even tease me about them growing up.

Dawn, you sound like Luke; he has been working for years on SE at all times of night and day. Whenever he sees it lit or colored, he is busy shooting it from various angles. It does make a gorgeous picture.
Dawn, I don't blame you at all for being the only adult getting into the flying on the tour and making a fool of yourself, since I knw I would do the same exact thing. At least you got into it which makes the tour more magical. GladI'm not the o ly one who feels like a Disney Dork. When Skyler is a little bit older will have to take him on the tour as he loves Peter Pan and it looks like so much great fun. I think your boys need to meet my 13 year old brother. The 3 of them would probably tear up a dance floor together.

I actually laughed out loud at you flying around with the kids on the tour because I would totally do that too! You are so funny!
The tour sounded great and a great time!
I remember you sending me a lot of texts this day...one of the kids on the slides and then le cellier and then illuminations i think right??? loved it!
I'm so glad you liked Le Cellier....too bad you didnt have the filet LOL maybe when you and I go right?????
I do love the chedder cheese soup!
I just remembered how much i adore EPCOT at night. I love SE at night...love the pics...it really sounded like an overall great disney day!

One of these days I'll get the perfect shot. And I guess I'll just have to keep going back until I get it. I think I'm going to get a travel tri-pod for the next trip.

I say if you aren't going to get into it, don't bother. It makes it so much more fun for you and your kids if the whole family gets into it. I would definitely do it with Skyler, especially if he is a Peter Pan fan!

Yeah...I know this new job is a great move for you and all (blah blah blah) but I liked it better when you were in touch more . (selfish...but I'll admit it) If you thought the flying was funny I wish I had pics of us literally crawling through Tomorrowland and spinning through Fantasyland. It was like a giant game of Mother May I.
I think I did send you a bunch that day
Yeah!!! Girls trip!!!! Tell Eric to get that ring on your finger so we can start planning a Disney Bachelorette trip. And yes, I'm goin' with the filet on that trip
I've got Tyler and Jason trained already to kill spiders for me. They protect me. My heros.
Some of our plans for the weekend got bumped, so I'm hoping to get an update up this weekend. (fingers crossed )
Ok, I must admit I've been slacking in the reading dept. Shame on me. But I'm all caught up now.
I loved your costumes fo MNSSHP!! You really know what you're doing there.
I absolutely love how your kids smile in the pictures. My youngest does those weird looking smiles too.
I'm enjoying every bit of your TR.
Okay...the slacker is finally back with an update...Thanks to those who've hung in there with me.
This morning we actually got up in time to make the MK opening ceremony. I have never seen this and it was something I was determined to do on this trip. Unfortunately, the bus situation at the BC didn’t cooperate. We waited and waited while we watched our chances of seeing the opening ceremony slip away. Oh well…something to strive for on the next trip. Although we missed the ceremony, we did get to MK pretty early and had time before we needed to make our way to the Poly for our traditional breakfast with Lilo & Stitch. There were a lot more Christmas decorations up and we stopped for a Photopass pic…
before heading to Tomorrowland for a ride on Buzz before breakfast.
We defeated Zurg, and then bailed our boys out of intergalactic jail…
(okay, I’ll admit we hesitated for just a moment )
Then we hopped a monorail over to our hotel from last year’s trip, the Poly, to have breakfast with friends. We got a great table near the window and the chef came right out to discuss the boys breakfasts. Tyler is pretty easy and will eat a plate full of eggs any day of the week. But, Jason is a bit tougher. Breakfasts are hard for him because so many breakfast foods have egg in them. But, the chef asked what he liked to eat and when I told him that his favorite all week had been the fruit loops in the lounge, he hunted them down and brought out a heaping bowl for Jason. Big smiles all around!! He came out to check on us and told Jason they were from his personal stock of fruit loops and that he would bring Jason as much as he wanted. He was wonderful!! I of course had my share of Mickey waffles and lots of coffee and fruit juice.
The boys joined in the parade and then waited for visits from all of the characters.
I had to get in with Stitch and he was very cuddly and sweet.
But, Pluto stole the show. He crawled around on the ground and wrestled with the boys. They were laughing and enjoying themselves so much with him. What a great character interaction!!
After breakfast we decided to walk around the Poly a bit where I grabbed this photo that I had wanted last year and for some reason didn’t get in the 10 days we were there…
Then we walked the grounds past our longhouse from last year, Tokelau, for a little reminiscing and then out to the point looking over the Seven Seas Lagoon before heading to the TTC and MK.
We let the boys choose and they chose the Ferry for this trip over. We got a great spot by the railing and had a nice ride over.
We got our stroller and made our way to the hub to get a good spot for Move-it, Shake-it, Celebrate-it.
I just knew the little dancers in the family would love this based a lot in part on PSha’s reports of it. We had a great spot…
And the stilt walker near us was Fabulous!!
The boys had a little Goofy time…
And then got into the dancing too!
(Well, not exactly sure you’d call it dancing, but there was definitely some booty shakin’ going on. )
We didn’t have a lot of time here today so we told the boys to pick one last thing they wanted to do here before we headed to AK for a pretty early dinner at Yak & Yeti. Jason chose the TTA and Tyler Tom Sawyer Island. He’d never been there and I had told him it was a great place to explore and climb and pretend. Three things he LOVES to do. He has the most amazing imagination and can tell you a story that, if you didn’t know any better, you would think actually happened. We were closest to Tomorrowland so we rode TTA first.
Then on our way to TSI we stopped to watch the castle show. The boys really enjoyed it, as did Craig and I.
Jason loves when “Miss Leficent” gets defeated!
Then it was onto some new discoveries on TSI. We explored caves, climbed a windmill…
walked over a barrel bridge and a suspension bridge…
and protected the fort from enemies…
until we escaped through the tunnel out of the fort. Next time we are planning on spending a lot more time here. On our way back over to Frontierland we got stopped on our raft by the Princess Tiana Showboat show. We had a great spot for it without even trying. We were so close to the ferry when it passed by.
Back in Frontierland, we picked up our stroller, and took one more stroll over the river walk on our way back to Main Street. I got a little misty as we walked back out under the train station knowing that was our last visit to MK for this trip. Then we were on our way to AK for dinner…
Up next Delicious dinner and a movie on the beach.
Such great pictures from this day! I think I'll have to do park openings for myself as my two buddies love their sleeping in. Your boys always look like they are having so much fun. I especially like the pics of them "enjoying" Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It. Stefanie would have so much fun dancing with your boys. Can't wait for more!
