Eight Days a Week - The Bakelin Invasion **Updated 7/8 - COMPLETE** - Page 15 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Glad to see you back, Melissa! And I can assure you, you don't look pregnant! Maybe your Disney stomach was showing? Anyway, even in that loose top, you don't look preggers, so not sure what that CM was thinking. Oh, and congrats on your Masters! Definitely a reason to celebrate. And now after reading about your tea, I'm hungry! Can't wait for more!

You guys know how to get the most out of a Disney day!! Awesome scores on TSMM. What was the highest for the week?? Or is that in an upcoming post. What a great way to celebrate at GF Tea. Something, sadly, I can't see doing as my DH doesn't like tea...or cooked fruit...or scones

We were headed back to DHS this morning for some more Insania. We knew there was a chance of rain today and it ended up being the only rainy day we had which was okay. We got ready and were at the park in line for opening. This is what I posted on my WordPress blog about that morning:
So the insania is just plain insane. The CMs actually line up, like leading the frontline into battle, to lead all the crazies to Toy Story. The look of panic on peoples’ faces as they run is just hilarious. Here’s a pic to show the stupid crazy line, and yes, we’re in it, but at least we walked here and didn’t act like insane fools.
The line wasn't as bad as it looked b/c again, it wasn't wrapped around inside. We just wanted to get up to the building before the bottom fell out. The skies were darkening and I was keeping an eye on the radar on the Weather Channel app on my iPhone. It was getting close. We FP'd as well before getting in line btw. Forgot to mention that.....
So anyway, we got in and took our spin around....and this time I WHOOPED Andy! And made the top 3 board! Granted it was just 30 minutes or so after opening but what can ya do? I'll take it!!
I flipped out, screamed and cheered of course.....I think this was the ride that some lady who thought she did all great with her 50,000 or so points asked what we got and I busted out with my 197,000!! She didn't have anything to say after that
We got out of Insania and I told Andy I had to hit the restroom so I went back to the one beside the Narnia thing while Andy waited near Insania. I didn't think he knew which bathroom I had gone to and when I came out the bottom had fallen out of the sky. It was thundering, lightening, and pouring. My first thought was CRAP...I've got my phone but he turned his off on purpose so work won't call him.....and he has the umbrella....and I'm stuck here at the bathroom BUT, I guess I was ye of little faith b/c within minutes Andy popped around the corner with the umbrella We stood under the cover of the bathroom area and waited it out. Apparently I attracted a crowd of "over the shoulder watchers" when I checked the radar again on my phone
Once it let up we hit the Commissary for a quick breakfast since we were hungry and we decided to wait out the drizzle that remained. We both had some danish pastries and watched the Lost clips on the TV in there.
After we ate it was still raining some so we popped the umbrella and trekked over to Animation and once we got in there it was pouring again. We walked back to where the Animation area is and on the way I was yapping about something to Andy not paying attention and he goes "Hey look who it is" and it was STITCH! ALL BY HIMSELF (well except his handler of course ) I again screamed and cheered LOL which caused the few folks in there to jump a little...... It was really only us, the characters (Stitch, Minnie, Donald, and Sorcerer Mickey, and their handlers.) It was a definite cool experience.
Since we were the only ones in there Andy decided to tell Stitch about my tattoo......
He was all happy "That's me" he was saying
Miss Minnie congratulated on my Masters (I was wearing my pin).....
And this pic was right after Donald stuck my whole head in his mouth I have a pic of that but it ain't pretty
And then lo and behold there was no line for Mickey!!!!! We've NEVER been in there when there wasn't a chaotic line...
We told him that, too!
After fun with the characters we headed through the area some more and this lady spotted me with my camera so she struck a pose which cracked me up!
We made our way over to the TOT in between showers. The rain let up long enough for us to stand in line.
When we came out we used our Toy Story FP really quick, alas my top score was gone After that we decided to head back before it poured again. We made it to the bus stop when the bottom fell out again. Andy laughed and took this pic with my iPhone...
He liked that I was standing in the only dry spot in the area
We watched folks get off the bus in the pouring rain, no umbrella, etc.....they knew it was raining c'mon.....and then within minutes they were back on the bus to go back Again I attracted attention with the radar on my phone
Back at the ASMo we grabbed a beer from the pool bar and some lunch from the foodcourt...
Looks like he was tired of me taking his pic....this was like the 4th one at the table
After we ate we headed back to the room and took a nap. The plan for the evening was dinner at Nine Dragons with the Bakers, if the stupid rain would hold off.........
