As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Girl Power - - Take Two Day 4 Part 3 Updated 7/9
Day 4 Part 3
We had an ADR at LTT that night, so we caught a bus to the TTC and then took the monorail to MK. On the bus, we sat in front of two women who had just met and chatted the entire way. One was there chaperoning a high school chorus and one worked for Disney. The one who worked for Disney was explaining her job and it sounded so interesting. She worked in acquisitions and sales where old props and equipment were sold in a store to CMs. How !
So . . . Mary Devall and I had a little time before our ADR so we took a spin on the tea cups. She now likes me to help spin us faster and faster, so I spun us so fast that I felt a little queasy when the ride ended. I normally don’t drink a lot of soft drinks, but I was now looking forward to a Diet Coke at LTT! We checked in and took a seat to wait for our name to be called. I was pretty excited about this ADR because I had only eaten here at lunch years ago and had heard such great things about the character dinner. We only waited a few minutes before we were seated at a table in the middle of the right-hand dining room. Our server was Tam and he quickly brought me a Diet Coke which immediately did the trick and took away the side effects of the tea cups. Now we could enjoy our dinner!
The food started coming and it seemed to never stop . . . first the salad and then the main course of turkey, ham, flank stank, mashed potatoes and gravy, beans, mac and cheese and rolls. Mary Devall absolutely loved the ham (I’ve never been a big fan of ham but I thought it was delicious too). I thought all of the food was delicious and I cannot wait to bring DH here in October - - he is going to love it! We ended the meal with a delicious apple cobbler and ice cream.
The food alone would make a visit to LTT worthwhile, but the character interaction was icing on the cake. The characters were all playful and really took their time visiting. Mary Devall was still remembering her antics with Chip and Dale from the Garden Grille, so she was ready to play again. This time Goofy was the goof ball and Mary Devall delighted in watching him play box with a server. This was an all-around great experience!
Mary Devall was so giddy that at one point she flew out of her chair and landed right on the floor -- thankfully it was carpeted so she wasn't hurt. She just popped back up laughing and crawled back in her chair.
After our tummies were full, we went back to the race cars and took a spin around the track. After our ride, Mary Devall decided that she needed some more character interaction, so we headed back to Toon Town and the Judge’s tent. Who do we see booking it up ahead of us but Monica and Kim! We caught up with them and discovered that they were coming to see the princesses. Mary Devall then decided that she had to see the princesses too. We stood in line for a good thirty minutes, but I really enjoyed having this bonus visit with them. And they were both so sweet to Mary Devall. When it was our turn to visit with the princesses, we had a blast. I could kick myself for not having all four of us take a picture with Cinderella though - - I have no idea where my mind was!
One funny thing happened when Mary Devall approached Snow White for an autograph. Snow White looked at her and said “You sure do look familiar to me.” Uh oh, perhaps we’ve been coming to Disney a little too much!
After the princesses, Monica and Kim were going to search out a spot for Spectromagic. At first, Mary Devall wanted to go with them, but I think the lure of Fantasyland captured her attention. We said goodbye to them again (knowing this time it was for good for this trip) and took a spin on the carousel.
Next the line for Dumbo was at its shortest for the day, so we decided to go ahead and get in line. Soaring at night watching all of the twinkling lights below us made the moment even more magical! I love riding rides at night! This was the latest that we had ever been at MK and we will definitely be doing a late night visit again.
After taking our elephant for a spin, we decided to head back to the hotel. I knew that Wishes was about to begin, so I didn’t want Mary Devall to end her night being frightened by the noise. We stood in line for a little while, but soon we were sitting on the front of a ferry boat. Wishes just started as we pulled away, so we were able to see it without the popping being too loud for Mary Devall. Perfect.
Once we docked at WL and were winding our way back to the room, Mary Devall once again surprised me with a non-prompted “I had a good day today, Momma.” She was pretty tired, so she agreed to postpone our swim until the morning. Once back in the room, she snacked on one of her cookies from Artist Point and some chocolate milk. While I brushed my teeth, she crawled into bed and was asleep by the time that I crawled in beside her. It was a good day.
Next up . . . our last day

Great updates Jill! I am glad you and Mary Devall were able to catch up with us. You are really quick with that stroller cause we were really booking it through Tommorrowland! I really enjoyed our visit while waiting for the princesses. I didn't think about us all getting in a couple of pictures with the princesses until later that evening either . Must have been the excitement from finally getting to see the princesses that kept us from thinking clearly!

I agree completely! Besides, if you didn't go to Disney like you did, we wouldn't get to read your fab trip reports! I'm glad Mary Devall didn't hurt herself with her little tumble at Liberty Tree Tavern. We've seen kids so excited that they fall right out of the chair there, and I always think it's more than a little hide-the-laugh-behind-a-napkin funny. It would have served me right, if I had to feel bad about being amused by it.

Looks like LTT was a hit. Great pictures.
I will have to make a note and go to ToonTown to catch another meeting with the princesses. Again, great pictures. Mary Devall looks so happy.
Nothing caps off what we as parents think was a perfect day than having our little darlings confirm it. I bet her words were music to your ears!

Seeing as she wasn't hurt, I think it's hysterical that she got so excited she she fell off her chair, that is so cute. We're going to LTT for the first time in October and I cannot wait, thanks for the prelude!!

Just catching back up with your TR. Doing the masks at Epcot is on my list for next time, I think Antonio will really like it. Glad you had a good dinner at LTT, I can't wait to try it.
