As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

Moving on with the current of the years.

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I also felt really bad for Christine. I mean she said some bad thing but she wasn't as horrible as Aaryn, GM and Amanda from last year and even they didn't get that many boos. That obnoxious man yelling boo over and over again was a bit much.
I'm thinking Christine regrets not listening to Donny 3 weeks ago, when he told her the pecking order. Serves her right for sticking with the boys.
She def. should have listened to Donny....a lot of mistakes were made on everyone's part

As much as I dislike Christine, I have to admit I felt a little bad for her reception when she left the house. She didn't deserve as big a cheer as say, Nicole, but she didn't really need that one obnoxious guy yelling "Boo! Boo!" even after the crowd had quieted. Watch - Frankie, who according to many here has made horrible comments about rape and such, will still get a huge applause when he comes out of the house.
I also think it was really obnoxious of the guys to keep Victoria over Christine to final 5. (Why am I defending Christine so much? Ew. IDK.) She was part of their alliance and went along with them the whole time. I could totally understand them getting her out in 5th place, but it was really insulting for them to choose to keep Victoria over an alliance member.
What do you guys think of this Rewind twist? It sounds like if Frankie has anything to say about it, the button will NOT be pushed.
I don't know what to make of the rewind twist, i didn't read anything about how it works, lol so I don't have an opinion but if it helps to get frankie out then i am all for it, lmao!!
Is it just me, or was last night's episode possibly the most worthless of the season? So we sa Frankie get HoH then immediately they all pressed the Rewind button, so we know that nothing that actually happens this week is going to matter because it will all be re-done. Then we had to sit through 20 minutes of a proposal/party of people who were on this show years ago. Good times. I know a lot of people like Jeff & Jordan, but honestly, give them their own show if they are that big of a deal. I thought I was tuning in to watch BB16, not BBpast.
On the plus side, Directv and CBS seem to have resolved their conflict at some point this weekend so I was able to watch Serena win the US Open AND BB.

Agreed, definitely J&J over Brenchel...then again, we already had to be subjected to Rachel this season, so they shouldn't have made us watch J&J too!
You're totally right about Victoria. Although, with all the sunshine that Derrick blows up everyone's ***, and with her being so gullible, I can see why she feels that way. Is it true? Not remotely, but I can see why she might think it is.

I know I am in the minority over here but YES!!!! I am so glad Frankie set the rewind and now Derrick will have a chance to be HoH. I think he needs to take Frankie saying that he could possibly go up just bc he hasn't been on the block at all seriously...and get him out.
Sorry but Derrick is the one who deserves to win. Nicole was spot on by saying he was like Dan, and he was correct to get her out with that statement.

Oh, and PS....I cried like a baby about J&J. LOVE them!
I don't really see why Derrick deserves to win over Frankie or even Caleb. Frankie has done just as much manipulating as Derrick and won a bunch of comps, and Caleb has won when he HAD to. Remember way back when the bomb squad basically decided he wasn't in their alliance anymore and were going to get rid of him, and yet Caleb is final 5. I don't like any of these people left, so it won't really bother me who wins/loses. I just think that if Frankie or Caleb make it to the final 2 they deserve to win over Derrick. Technically, he can't really prove that he's done much more than Victoria. He's tried to be so sneaky and subtle with his manipulations and not ever "have to get blood on his hands" (blech!), that whoever is against him could kind of make the case that they (the alliance) just carried Derrick along too.
I think Frankie will get MAJOR points for winning the Battle of the Block by himself when he was guaranteed going home otherwise, if he makes it to final 2. The biggest thing Frankie has against him is that they know he doesn't "need" the money, but it frustrates me when they let that affect their decision on the winner. It should be about the best game, not what is happening in their personal life.

One thing I always try to keep in mind is how much stuff WE see, but they don't see. Remember how shocked they were when Christine got booed? And how deer-in-headlights they always seem when Julie reveals something about someone in the house to someone else after they get kicked out? That's what I think is going to come back to bite Derrick. He may have been the master behind a lot of stuff, and WE know that because we heard him in the DR, but all of these people are pretty conceited and I think they will have a hard time believing someone manipulated them that much without really having to do anything himself. Dan in a previous season did it too, but he did crazy stuff out in the open (like making all that stuff up about whats-her-name being dead to him for no reason and everything but getting people to believe him that she did something). Then again, they all do actually like Derrick, so they could always vote because of that. I hope not though.
