As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So sorry that you ankle was causing you so much pain, and then to have the bandage make it worse! pixie: Your PP photos are terrific. Dinner Prime Time sounded like fun and looked so delicious!
Glad you had a great time at AK and a great meal at 50's PTC! Great pictures! Sorry about the ankle wrap!
Thanks. My ankle was being such a pain on this trip...

Yes, my ankle was my main complaint on this trip. And it only gets worse!

I figured that people must do it all the time when they are pregnant at Disney World, but from the reaction of most of the photographers and CMs, it isn't something they had seen before. That made me kind of happy...I had inadvertently come up with an original idea! Lol!

Great update! Love the hidden mickey on your baby belly. Sorry about the ankle, I know how it feels. BTDT, Disney wheelchairs are not comfortable at all. LOL Hope it gets better soon. Looking forward to more.
You got some great animal pictures. And it sounds like a fun dinner. Sorry to hear about the allergic reaction. I've decided that pregnant ladies never get a break. Everything ends up difficult to do and towards the end you just can't get comfortable. But it's all worth it.
It would be fun if Briana and Mallory could play together. As far as getting together with other mom's with little ones the same age have you looked in to ECFE? Or mom's groups in your area? I know we have a lot of that stuff that I kept getting sent from the hospital. I don't have time for it right now, but if I wasn't working I would probably go. There's also story time at the libraries. You can meet a lot of mom's there. And in a few months Briana will love it. She might even enjoy it now - depends on the kid my son was too busy for stories at that age.
Sound like you and David are having a great trip. Sorry your ankle was bothering you and you didn't feel well. I'm happy you are taking it slower. I think you will find when you do go again with Bri that the comando days are done. My last visit was my first as a parent and I really slowed down and just went at my son's pace and it was the best trip.

I love all of the belly pics, so cute! Dinner at 50s PTC sounded like a lot of fun. Sorry about the ankle wrap!
I had a lot of fun getting pics of my belly. The plan is to go back and get pics of the three of us in some of the same spots every year that we make it back, and then we'll have a timeline! Hopefully it'll be cute.

I was going to look into getting into some mom groups after the move. I hadn't thought of checking into story time at the library, but that would be awesome! Thanks for the ideas!

More please
I'm hoping to get a post up again soon. This darn move is slowing me down.
I woke up at 9AM, but my ankle was really hurting, and I knew David hadn't slept well, so I decided to let him sleep while I kept my ankle propped up and read a book.
I woke him at 10 so that we could get ready and make it to our noon reservation at Yak and Yeti in AK without having to rush.
My ankle was posing a bit of a problem for me. I couldn't use the wrap that we had purchased because of my allergy, but I couldn't walk without the wrap without limping terribly. I was messing with the wrap and noticed that a lot of the adhesive wasn't quite as sticky, so, silly me, I decided to go ahead and wrap my foot and ankle, figuring it wouldn't bother me so much since the adhesive wasn't so sticky. (More on this later...I swear I'm not stupid...it was pregnancy brain.)
We opened the door once we were ready to find rain waiting for us, but we simply pulled our umbrellas out and kept on heading for the buses, still moving slowly because of my ankle.
Usually in the mornings we take the stairs down, and in the evenings the elevators up. Well, this morning I discovered that going down stairs made my ankle want to give out. It was getting to be some pretty intense pain, and David was making noise about taking me to a doctor. Of course, I was resisting because we were at Disney World and there was no way in heck I wanted to waste my vacation sitting in a stupid E.R. and getting charged exorbitant amounts of money to be told I should stay off of it and rest it up. :
At any rate, we made it to the reservation only slightly late, even with my slow pace. We were seated upstairs, but as soon as we were seated I went in search of the restroom, because my ankle was on fire and I needed to remove that stupid wrap, and I didn't want to take off my shoes at the table where people around us were trying to eat. I awkwardly managed it in the bathroom stall, muttering under my breath about my stupidity at having put it on again in the first place. (Although, in my defense, it didn't bother me so quickly as it had the night before, or I would have removed it before we ever left the hotel room.)
My ankle actually felt a little bit better after having been wrapped up for a little while though, so I was thinking "hey, maybe the worst of it is over!"
I took a picture of the story on the menu, because I thought it was nifty. (Yes, I just used the word "nifty.")
David ordered the Crispy Honey Chicken, and I decided to order the duck. We both really enjoyed the honey chicken, but I stopped eating my duck after only a few bites. I usually really enjoy duck, but either the pregnancy was messing with my taste buds or it really wasn't all that great, so I shared David's food. And since David's meal was pretty small portions to begin with, we were both left hungry after lunch was over. We made a little bit of a dent in our hunger with the chocolate cake we had for dessert, but since we were still hungry for "real" food, the dessert seemed too sugary for us to finish.
I did take a pic of dessert for you though...it was really good, very rich...just too sugary for hungry people.
After lunch, we started to head to the buses. The rain had mostly let up, and we wanted to go to Epcot and find something yummy to eat. We were able to put our umbrellas away, though some people kept on ponchos. We're from Washington State! We don't need no stinkin' ponchos or umbrellas when all it's doing is sprinkling! (Sorry...Inside joke..only us Washingtonians get it. Just know that if you're ever in Seattle and it's sprinkling, and you pull out an umbrella, everyone will know you aren't from around there. )
Anyway, moving past my terrible jokes that only I think are funny...
We walked slowly around the World Showcase. We poked around the shops in France, and I debated buying a bottle of wine to try (AFTER Bri was born of course) but I didn't want to buy it without knowing how it tasted, and I couldn't taste it because I was pregnant, so we decided to skip it. We checked out the shops in Japan and watched a candy artist there for a while. She does some pretty amazing stuff, but I couldn't get a good angle for any pictures.
We decided to get pretzels in Germany. On the way there, I got so dizzy that I stumbled and almost fell. David got me to a bench and practically forced me to drink an entire bottle of Gatorade, and then wanted to make me drink water, too. "Um, David...I'm pregnant. If you make me drink that much at once, I'll explode." I told him that I was pretty sure it was hunger, not dehydration, and convinced him to let me get up and keep walking towards Germany.
I was bummed that they didn't have the cheese sauce for the pretzels in Germany. Just mustard. I'm sure that's more authentic or something, but the pregnant lady who ordered the pretzel loved her some creamy (crappy, fake) pretzel cheese, so it was a little sad. The mustard was alright, though, and it filled me up and made me feel better, so in the end it all worked out.
After our pretzels (and David had a beer), we backtracked to the America pavilion in hopes of seeing the Voices of Liberty. I had forgotten they weren't there, but we enjoyed the little quartet that was playing there instead, and we always enjoy the American Adventure show.
We continued on around the showcase (with every ten steps me getting asked by my worried husband if we should sit down), and explored the China pavilion pretty thouroughly.
I was so hot this day, I was pretty miserable, and I found this cute little fan in the China pavilion. I picked it up to be funny and fanned myself, and then I was standing there still fanning not really thinking about it and David started to laugh. "What?" I asked. He smiled again and said "You look like you're on cloud 9. We should buy that fan for you." So we did, and it was actually quite handy! It was really nice to just get a bit of air hitting my face. I loved that thing. And it was pretty, so I have it up on one of my bookshelves now.
After a bathroom stop, we continued back around to the International Gateway. My foot and ankle had really started bothering me again by this point. David was at a loss. He kept offering to carry me, and I kept laughing at him. I was like "Between your bad shoulder and my big fat pregnant belly, we'd both end up on the ground!" We were teasing each other about being invalids, but I could tell he was really concerned about me, so I was trying not to be too obvious about how much pain I was in.
We caught a bus to DTD from the Boardwalk. David had purchased a drawing pad that came with 2 pencils, but the pencils weren't sharpened, so now we were on a hunt for a pencil sharpener. He couldn't find any that weren't part of a $20 set of pens/pencils/markers. I wanted to leave, so I chose a Minnie Mouse one that I liked and thought maybe Briana could use at some point in the future and walked up to him and said "We can buy this, let's go." When he said no and I nearly had a complete meltdown over it, he decided it was time to go get food in me.
We went to Earl of Sandwich. I had the Hawaiian BBQ (which was AMAZING), and David ordered the 1772 Original. I was a little grumpy during dinner. Not at David, just because my ankle was hurting and I was hot and tired. David sensed my mood and just left me to my own thoughts for the duration, and that actually helped me feel better. Gosh, I sure did marry a wonderful guy.
After dinner, we headed back to the resort so that I could put my feet up. At about 9:30, I headed back down to buy some munchies. I got some chips for David and some apple slices with caramel for me. We watched t.v. until we fell asleep, but I have no idea what time that was on this day.
**Note**
For some reason I didn't really take pictures on this day. I think it was because I wasn't feeling the best. Sorry!

So sorry about your ankle. I've had problems like that in the past and I know how miserable it can be. What a trooper you were there, carrying on and making the best of it.
