As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Today Josie wanted to get her “8 items” together to go into the suitcase. Not sure when to tell her that not all of those things will be coming….maybe most of them, but I think the tissue box we can do without
She also grouped together some jewelry she would like to take with her too. Here she is as Vanna White showcasing those fine items.
I’m starting to go through a bit of panic mode about now. Going out on errands with Josie is such a breeze these days, and is always a lot of fun. However now being the sole person to watch over her without a sidekick with me has gotten me nervous. I have traveled often by myself, and then of course lots of times with just Arnaud and I, but ever since we had kids, we have always gone together and for whatever reason I’m just freaking. I am not a total idiot, I can take care of one kid on my own, but this is BIG and I’m just panicky. I’m also feeling guilt too. Like will this take away from our BIG family trip in Sept?? Will she be excited for that too?? I’m overthinking I think?? I should just calm down, yes….OK, just chill out right??
I need to move on………..So since we have been talking a bit about fashion and comfort while in Disney, I think I’ll share 2 more items that I have found with you’s guys.
Since stretch denim has been around (and since I have had kids) I really hate wearing regular denim jeans. For whatever reason I have never found a pair of stretch denim capris though. The ones I do have are fine, but they are regular denim and they aren’t as comfy as they don’t give as much. Well last week at my good old standard Old Navy, they have new stretch denim capris. They are called the Rock Star and they are FABULOUS!!!!! Nice and light, stretchy and cheap! I am super happy with wearing them all day. No need for me to model a pic for you as I’m sure you will see them quite a bit in my trip pics. I’m sure I’ll be wearing them more than once. Yes, I have said it…..I do tend to wear my jeans a few times before washing. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Or wait, am I??? Great, now I sound skanky. OK, well, I do……..but I swear I bathe daily at least.
My 2nd new item I love has to do with makeup. I pay for a photo CD and I’d like to look somewhat nice, so in the heat I LOVE the Bare Minerals Matte powder for your face. It covers just enough, has an SPF in it and best of all it’s a nice matte finish. I feel as if I have nothing on my face, and to me, that is the best!! OK, so there is some of my new finds that I love.
Tonight I just went crazy in the kitchen making the biggest dish of tuna casserole ever. Arnaud informed me he plans on having it for breakfast………….gag, I sure hope he is kidding. Josie and I made our blueberry muffins for the boys and I’ll make the soup tomorrow. Sunday will be just relaxing with the boys and getting last minute stuff taken care of. I hope it’s a nice day, I want to run around on the beach with my baby boy. I’ll sure miss him, but guess what I won’t miss????..................................NO DIAPER CHANGING FOR 4 WHOLE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!
Oh Linny!
I think I may freak out too if I were in your shoes, but then I'd tell myself what you did and just chill out.
Josie is too precious with her jewelry all lined up.
tuna? for breakfast? gag is right!
No diaper sfor 4 days will be awesome - icing on the cake!
I love the pics of Josie with all her jewels! You two are going to have a great time-- and this trip will make your next one even BETTER because you'll have gotten to do some of the things the "stinky boys" might not be interested in.
You are definitely not alone in your skankiness - - but you do need to take some deeeeeeep breaths. You and Josie will be fine on your own!! And I'm sure on the family trip, she'll be excited to show the stinky boys some of the things she did on this trip!
Have a great trip, Linny!
Ok, now we're off on a cruise this afternoon for a week - I am taking one pair of jeans and that's it. They'll be washed when I get home, but I quite often wear my jeans for a week - anything else I tend to wash after a day, but not my jeans. Why? Because a) they're comfortable and b) they're quite a pig to dry, so that's my excuse!
OK, first a couple of deep breaths. Ahhh, that's better I'm sure if I were in your shoes I'd be freaking out about going solo with one of my girls too, but I have faith that you will be just fine! I bet you're going to come home wondering what the heck you were worried about in the first place.
Sign me up for the skank club too then, I'll admit to wearing my jeans quite a few times between washings, you're not alone sister! I'll have to check out those Rock Star capris, I love me some ON jeans!
I Bare Minerals, but I've never tried the Matte. I'll have to check it out before the summer gets here.
I too would be a bit nervous about a trip with a kid and no DH, but I'm sure it will be fine. And what kid wouldn't be excited about a Disney trip. I'm sure Josie won't mind having to go again in Sept. Such a burden she'll have to bear.
And you aren't the only one who wears your jeans twice. Or the only one who only likes strech denim either. My fav!!!
Good luck getting everything done. And enjoy your time with the boys. What I wouldn't give for 4 whole days without diapers.

So nice to know that you bathe every day. (just kidding) You're not alone in wearing jeans more than once. You'll be fine with Josie. A few years ago, I took just my son with me to WDW and it was great. It's a real chance to get to know each other better as people, not just as Mommy and daughter, if you know what I mean. It won't be long now!
I think that Josie and my daughter Lexi would get along great. Lexi has a messenger bag she likes to take everywhere, and she always wants to pack a box of tissues in it. It also looks like they share the same love for jewelery.
I will add myself to the list of skanks that wear jeans more than once before washing. They wear out so much faster if you wash them after every time you wear them.
I am sure once you are in WDW all your worries about traveling alone with Josie will fade and you will just be able to enjoy your time with her.
