The Overtakers are in Qahoots. FIRST WILD RIDE 15SEP2011-18SEP2011 - 01DEC2011 Updated - Page 14 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Glad you had a great time at DTD and Raglan Road! Great pictures!
Thanks. Believe me the food and the entertainment were worth the trek across DTD after a long day!!!

So finally it's the Big Day. Friday, 16Sep2011. Our first MNSSHP day.
We planned on not doing anything overhwhelming in the morning...since we knew we would be up late for the party.
So...we get down to the boat dock at WL. The line was huge...oh no...this might take forever. But along comes the biggest boat...and we make that first BIG boat of the day.
With Magic Kingdom our destination for the day...my first goal was to get my MNSSHP tickets at the pick-up window.
So we head through security and rush over to get in line. Fortunately there wasn't a large line yet...and we get our MNSSHP tickets. Now...just to warn you...they are just regular card media...like tickets...but they say Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on the back. The front image was the normal ticket media. Disappointed...I was hoping they would be something fabulous for my scrapbook.
But we head on through the gates...and fortunately we just missed the mad rush of the opening ceremony. We head under the tunnel and it opens into our magical Halloween decorations.
We discuss...and head right into town hall. It appears that Mickey and Minnie and the Princesses have NO wait. No need for FP.
So...we head into meet Mickey and Minnie first. The line was pretty small...and as usual I took up chatting with the CMs and people around us. We were discussing our plans for the day...and I mentioned that I really wanted to get the Boo To You parade in.
The CM tells WH and I that...once in a while...the REAL Johnny Depp is in the parade as Captain Jack Sparrow. She said even the CMs don't know...it's whenever the mood takes him. But it has happened before. One of our fellow guests goes crazy and says "Don't tell me that...I would just die". Guess she was a big Johnny Depp fan...so now we know to keep a good idea on Captain Jack tonight.
So we got our couples pictures...and then one big one with all of us!!!
So here we are in order. Mickey, WH, PW, Me, Dew, and Minnie...Minnie better watch it holding on to my Man like that....MINE MINE MINE
These characters dont' bother me...wait to see where we go next...the poor guy was tongue tied. I kind of wanted to bash him over the head...
So we head out of the meet Mickey and Minnie and head right next door in line to the Princesses.
Well...there were some cute little girls in line with their Mom and Dad in front of us...in princess dresses. Adorable...
This line was a little longer...and it seemed like we waited for a while...maybe 15-20 minutes. Then it was our turn.
First up...SCORE....Aurora...aka Sleeping Beauty. My favorite Disney Movie of all time...I prefer the Villains of course...but she'll do...
Then...DH starts...he chats with her...gets a little tongue tied...and we seem to be holding up the line...as he ogles her. What is up with that.
Finally...picture time:
Poor thing...was probably like get these people out of here...but very nice.
So...finally we move onward...to Belle.
She didn't even have to ask him to hold his arm...he was more than ready to stand next to her...
The next...Cindy...was the only one he wasn't overwhelmed by...and we breezed right through.
Can you believe it...who knew...that just getting one of the face characters was all I needed to get him interested in getting autographs.
We start walking out of there...and he says and I quote, "So...do you think we will get to see Jasmine today?".
Seriously....he's wanting to ogle Jasmine!!! No wonder...he volunteered to wait in line for Jasmine and Aladdin with DS in the spring. Well I'm on to him now buddy...he better watch out...because I will be looking for those Princes!!!!
So we head outside into the bright sunlight...and WH immediately starts heading down the street. He wants his first fix of the trip.
So we get inline...at Main Street Bakery. WH and I got Cinnamon Rolls, DH got a cheese danish and PW got her Chocolate croissant.
One daily goal achieved....WH's cinnamon roll fix!!!
So...after heading out of there...and turning over our table and seats to an impatiently waiting family. I head back towards Uptown Jewelers to turn in my entry for the Passholder's Sweepstakes. WH and PW fill there's out too...and before you know it we are heading off to Adventureland.
As we are walking along...it occurs to me...we should check out the new Enchanted Tiki Room..which is really the old Enchanted Tiki Room.
We go through the show...and I think I was the only one who truly loved it. You see...this was my absolute favorite thing when I was a little kid...and I know the whole song. In the tiki...tiki...tiki....tiki room...
Well...we head out the doors...and right over to Pirates of the Caribbean...it was cool to see...Davy Jones was gone...and now Blackbeard greeted us!!!
Next on the list...the Haunted Mansion. Now we took some time here...let me look through those photos...for the graveyard photos...and get back to ya...stay tuned...lots of cool stuff coming up.
Sounds like a great morning so far. I've heard that about Johnny Depp and the parade too, so I was looking for him last year at MNSSHP, but it was so hard to tell. They do such a great job with the make up and costumes that sometimes the regular CMs are really good look a likes!
Okay...finally 2000 pictures uploaded to Photobucket.
So it's finally done...2000 pics are uploaded. It took me forever...I know.
But now I can include some of Wolfhunt's party shots which are not to be missed...believe me....the fireworks alone.
So....we rode Pirates of the Caribbean with Blackbeard...then got off and took a minor potty break...
Oh yeah....off to the graveyard for a little tour....but one major stop before hand!!!
You see WH is a collector...of Photopass magic shots...and he was missing 2 from his collection....so here is one of them!
So...the PP person has an assistant who holds up a sign of a ghost with Mickey ears...and tada....yup.
Well...they also ask you to scream. I guess I have such a piercing scream...one of the guys walking by in line...stopped in his tracks...turned around and was like 'WHOA!!!'. So yup...I have the kind of scream that you hear in movies...
So in our picture...we are laughing...
Yup...I'm that GIRL
So...we head on in...and surprise surprise...WH didn't take any pictures of the graveyard path...but we really enjoyed it...and he must have liked it alot because he didn't take time to take out his camera but fiddled with stuff. This is the only picture I got...because I wanted to send it to my brother Dave.
Then we took a break and headed over to Columbia Harbour House for lunch.
WH had the lobster roll which he said was quite good and the rest of us got the chicken nugget meals...which were well a little dry.
Here is WH with his lobster roll:
(Taken with my Iphone)
So then we move up the hill into Fantasyland and make a necessary stop.
I don't think WH was eager for this ride...he said he was likely to get the music stuck in his head...but he had done the Tiki room...so it seemed only fair that us, The Overtakers, stop at It's a Small World.
Then we moved onto Mickey's Philharmagic with no wait. We got second row and sat down for a good show...
As we left here...we wanted to get a little sneak peek at the construction...so WH snapped some great photos of Beast's castle so far.
So...it's looking hopeful.
Then we moved on to Buzz Lightyear. While in line...a friend from WH's work...who was on his honeymoon stopped WH. We chatted throughout the line. It was neat to see them...especially since this was supposed to be their second Universal Studios day...but they'd run out of stuff to do...so came over to MK.
Here are the ride pics.
I love how focused PW is...while WH looks so surprised:
So then we head back to the front of the park...as it's 2:00. We start walking through some of the stores looking at the Halloween decor and a little kid grabs my hand. I pull my hand away...he yells at me...Mommy stop...I stop turn and look down at him...and he stands there all fish mouthed.
"Sorry little guy...but I'm not your Mommy!" He drops my hand real quick and I follow him to make sure he does find his mom who was a larger woman like myself with black hair, read shirt and jeans.
Hilarious...his expression....
So then by 2:05 we are waiting for our boat to the resort...look over and we are inline by the Johnny Depp fan. We smile and wave and she waves back.
So we head back to the resort. WH and PW trek all the way back to their DVC room...on the way other end of the Villas...for a rest and shower....and DH and I head out and get a quick dip in the pool. Nice way to cool off and relax...before we head into our room.
You see now it is time....time to change into the costumes...stay tuned for costume pics...and to see pics of the party...you won't believe all that we squeezed in...

Reason: spelling correction.
What a great time at Raglan Road, everything sounded delish - always a great time there. Fun morning at the MK - poor kid - too funny, he almost left with the wrong "mommy" Can't wait to see the costumes and hear all about the party.
