Eight Days a Week - The Bakelin Invasion **Updated 7/8 - COMPLETE** - Page 14 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Thank you Kelly!!! I mean, I know I put back on like 10 pounds after our Weight Watchers lowest point...but still, I'm under 120......I haven't worn that shirt since then though
After being pregnant and wearing maternity clothes I'm very carfeul about all tops that make it look like you might be and that's getting hard as it seems like there's a lot of those type of tops out. Some people just never learn when to just shut their mouth. Only if I'm wearing a shirt that says something like 'Bun in the Oven' would it be ok to comment.
What a great morning at DHS. I think it would have been funny if Andy would have ordered a beer and turned around to smile at them. Can't wait to hear about the tea. It's becoming one of my favorite things to do at Disney.

Two updates in one day again! I know you're impressed
While we were getting ready for tea I checked my email on my phone. I had gotten an email from the dean of my grad school clearing me for graduation I was soooo happy! It felt real now! It was time to celebrate for real!
We wandered around a little and took some pictures outside our building before leaving for tea since we had some time.
Stupid photos:
Apparently these two were showing some brotha love....
This was "Andy's Room" after all
We stopped by the giftshop and played some Connect Four.... it had been awhile and I had to remember how to play How SAD!
We caught the bus to the MK and took a leisurely stroll to the CR, reminiscing of our stay there last November. We decided we'd just walk over there and catch the monorail to the GF. I'd rather walk over there than hike up the hill with the masses trying to catch the monorail.
Once at the GF we checked in and had a few minutes to wait before they opened.
We were seated not too long after they opened and I decided it was time to celebrate the great news!
I made Andy get one, too and he liked it!
Tea was good as usual!
I had the Russian Earl Grey and Andy had his old favorite, Nobo Whole Fruit. We both had the Buckingham Palace. I dream of those little tea sandwiches....especially the grilled pear one..... Then we enjoyed our scones and cream and jam....lovely! And we both opted for pastries instead of strawberries and cream. We stayed there for about an hour and 15 minutes and it was nice to just sit back, relax, and enjoy. I love doing tea!
Afterwards we meandered around the GF.
I wanted to pick up some more of the H2O products as I was out of the ones Andy gave me for Christmas. I knew the GF carried the same ones as the DCL and that is my new MUST HAVE. I picked up a shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a lotion for myself as well as my former assistant who is my close friend at work. She's an older black lady (not old, she's the same age as my mom) and I LOVE HER! And she loves herself some of "that Disney boat butter" as she calls it So I got her a big ole thing of it I've got to get her another bottle on this upcoming trip, too!
After dropping around $60 on beauty supplies we headed down to the dock. We decided it would be nice and relaxing to take the boat over to the MK. And that it was! There was one family on it and they got off at the next stop, the Poly. We had our own private boat! The driver even make a joke about that!
We stopped to have a pic made at the front of the MK...
And then we entered into the craziness. It was around 4 and there were still lots of folks around and today was verrry warm. We decided to hop on the train and ride around to relax some more.
We got off in ToonTown and stopped to see what sorts of characters were out in the meet and greet area, but it wasn't anybody we wanted to see. We instead made our way to Philharmagic to escape the heat. Yet again, Philharmagic got me all verklempt.
Everything was nuts in the MK so we chose to do things that not a lot of folks were doing. We hopped on the TTA and took a ride around, continuing our relaxing theme. Andy overhead some guy tell his kid that when he was a teenager he brought girls on the TTA to make out with them Nice dude.....nice.
After the TTA we decided it was time to admit our shame..... we had never done the COP and it was time. We loved it and it's a must do now! We discussed if the narrator was the narrator from A Christmas Story and thank goodness for the iPhone, I was able to look it up and sure enough, it was! Good call Andy Loflin!
After COP we decided it was too nuts to stay here so we caught the monorail over to Epcot so we could continue our relaxing theme. On the way out of the MK we caught part of the new parade.
We arrived at Epcot..
And headed straight back to the UK. A couple of beers and a BI show later, we were fully relaxed
I made the decision we needed to go see Tigger again (I love me some Tigger), so we did.
These next two pics are my fav!
We went back out, grabbed another beer, and caught another BI show...
After the show we were getting pretty hungry so we decided to stop off in The Land for dinner. Since it was pretty much time for Illuminations it felt like we had The Land all to ourself. We split the ham on focaccia sandwich and I think I grabbed a Butterfinger since dessert was included. I think I remember the CM laughing about a girl getting her chocolate
Probably because I had had a couple of Harp in the UK I hit my misty mode.... Something about being in there, almost all alone, with the fabulous Land music playing that I listen to and daydream to at work on Live 365, made me all sappy about how great it was to be there Gotta love it
After we ate we decided we should just go on back to the MK. It was open till midnight, so why not?! We caught the monorail back over there and I enjoyed my Butterfinger on the monorail.
We hit up BTMRR first and pretty much walked on....yes it was a good idea to come back!
or was it??
After BTMRR we took a ride through the Haunted Mansion. On the way back to Main Street we passed a HM CM who asked if we were celebrating anything and Andy told him about my news of being cleared for grad graduation so he wrote on the "I'm Celebrating" button for me so my button said "I'm Celebrating my Masters" How cool!!!!
We grabbed a spot for Spectro and unfortunately it was next to a lady who thought she knew it all and had to tell everybody where they could and could not sit Andy had gone to Casey's to get us some corndog nuggets so I was left there with her by myself. Goodie. I sat down and she goes "They're probably going to block that off so you'll have to move". I knew they wouldn't so I just said "Oh well, if I have to move I'll move". It wasn't like I was in front of her, or up in her way. She just HAD to butt in her opinion. She continued telling people that tried to sit next to me "they're going to block that off" and sadly for them, they listened. Andy finally came back and I told him all about her annoying-ness. We just laughed and enjoyed our corndog nuggets from our never blocked off so we sat there the whole time spot.
Pics from Spectro:
Is that supposed to be a Spectro Hidden Mickey?
And my Donald
After Spectro we headed out and caught a bus back to the ASMo. It had been a long day so we were in the bed in no time.
What a great day and some great scores on Toy Story "Insania"...it does make me laugh when you see these families dragging children by their hands with the kids feet dangling off the floor as they run to get themselves some FP's....
Me I do the only smart thing...I leisurely walk down towards the hat with DD8 just taking in everything as DD16 hikes it over to TSMM to get us some FP's - I mean there has to be some benefit to having the offspring right
The tea sounded fablulous...and definitely the start to a nice relaxing day. I could almost picture your spot for Spectro...and I can also just picture your face as the lady tried telling you to move...(like if she was so concerned then maybe she should move )
