August and Everything After WDW - Trip Report - Thread 2 **Updated 11/1** COMPLETE - Page 14 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So we're up to Saturday, our last full day in the Disney bubble. We headed out to the AK with plans to meet Brandi later in the morning. It was an EMH morning and I think we made it like a little after EMH started. We found the special resort guest entrance over to the right, thanks to Andy. He went over and scoped it out while I had gotten in the regular folks line..
We headed straight over to EE and grabbed a couple FPs for later with Brandi. Then we went ahead and rode.... a couple times b/c there was pretty much no wait at all.
A pic of Andy getting ready to get on board.
And then another pic to illustrate ride #2
This next pic I made Andy (actually he may have suggested it but won't admit to it). But after reading all the posts about folks and their teenagers posing this way, we had to do it as much as we could this trip.
I've never felt as such a big dork as I did at that moment.
Well, you did it, and you didn't have to have your arm twisted to do it I might add....
nice right
After our second spin around the mountain it was pretty much time for the park to open so we headed over towards Africa. Along the way we spotted this.
We didn't really know what might be happening tomorrow but we were sad we'd miss it. We continued on towards Africa. I stopped to take some pics of the tree. Here's one I liked.
Once in Africa I decided to give Brandi a call before we hopped on the safari.
She didn't answer so we decided to go ahead and get in line. On our way to the line I spotted a CM with one of the CM Muppets pins I started collecting so I had to trade.
And Andy had to take a picture of it
So we get in line for the safari after a few more attempts to call Brandi. And sure enough, as we were getting down to the trucks, she calls and tells us she's there She said to go ahead and ride, she'd shop around and meet us. So we did.
A picture of Andy in line... I told you before, I kill time in line by taking pictures.
Lucky me
I decided not to take any pictures on the safari this time b/c I always take pictures and quite frankly, they all look the same. I mean, really, how many photos of an elephant's backside can one really keep?
Yeah, we have our fill
It was a good safari. Probably one of the best, right?
Yeah it was, the lion was up and roaring, the giraffe was pretty much right up at the road, and the rhino was in the path of the truck. We had to wait on him.
We had a cute little girl driver. She was hoping to see the white rhinos earlier in the ride. So when we got to the white rhino blocking the path she goes "Remember how I was searching for a white rhino??? I think I found one" Which I thought was hilarious! I don't know why. It was just the way she said it. I don't think Andy found it as humorus as I did, but I thought it was cute.
Anyway, moving on. We ended our 2 week adventure and called Brandi to let her know we had gotten off the ride. I was walking along chatting with her telling her how great the safari was and then she totally interuppted me with "hey how about you look to your right" and there she was waiting for us
We decided to head over into Dinoland to see how Dinosaur was looking.
The whole original goal of this morning was to take Mo on Dinosaur......but that plan became "no Mo".
I know! Poor Mo and her flood! We decided to ride it in honor of her I suppose But we got over there and I'm telling you, everytime Andy and I go over there there is no wait really. Like maybe 10 minutes. Today this line was wrapped all the way around in the front. We stood there for like 2 minutes and decided we were getting outta there. Time had rolled around where we could get FPs again so we decided to FP it. Oh and I just remembered, I enjoyed my first frozen chocolate covered banana on a stick while we waited. I have been saying I would get one every trip, and I finally did, and it was totally worth it !
I had to take a potty break so we headed back furthur into Dinoland. Andy had to go to, but he couldn't, remember?
Vaguely....
Remember? You said you went in there but somebody apparently didn't have a good breakfast and stank the place up so you decided you could hold it... That's so mean to tell that story. I mean, I know we've all been that person before.
Anyway, after the bathroom we spotted Pluto and Goofy so we hung out with them for a bit.
This was one good picture. Andy seemed to get a bunch of pictures of Goofy and Pluto's face and our backsides!
Goofy tried to take Brandi off somewhere, but his handler and Pluto would have none of that. We had a fun little interaction over there.
Maybe Goofy was gonna show her what he did in the bathroom
Okay that's not funny but I can't stop laughing....
He said "Gawrsh! that stinks!"
Okay, I can't type right now b/c I can't see my eyes are watering so much from laughing! Oooooh me....
Anyway...After our dog encounter we decided to ride Primeval Whirl. Not one of Brandi's favs but she endured it with us anyway
Then we went on over to EE and Andy let Brandi and I use the FPs.
I hung out and bought some of Goofy's candy....the little vitamin looking sweetart things. One time when I was a kid, I really liked the Flinestone vitamins. So I found out where my mom kept them, so I got them, and I ate the whole thing. My brother showed up and asked for some, I said "No way, they're mine" so he told on me..... and saved my life. They took me to the hospital and pumped my stomach. So needless to say, I still like vitamins.....or candy that resembles Flinestone vitamins. Those stupid vitamins looked like candy, so you can see how I would like them.
Nice side story.
After EE we went back to Dinoland and used our Dinosaur FPs. We decided for our ride photo we'd all play dead. Andy didn't quite get the memo...
I zoomed in....
I had serious business to take care of!
That picture cracks me up!
After Dinosaur we were all getting really hungry. It started to rain a bit. We had to have some Flame Tree BBQ so we all made our orders and then headed down to the shelter by the water. I have missed the yummy bbq and flame tree sauce! It was still tasty!
Andy took some photos. This is the only one I can post b/c in the other one of me and Brandi at the table I flipped him off... oops
Our final plan of attack was to find Stitch before we left. Brandi is also a lover of the blue alien. So I was afraid we'd have to throw down for him. Turns out Lilo might have to watch her back more than me
This picture CRACKS me up!! Brandi looks like she's ready to beat somebody down! Either that or she's still smelling the Goofy poo
Here's our photos. I went up first since Brandi so nicely reminded me that she lives here and can see him anytime she wants
When I got up there I pointed her out to him and told him not to believe anything she said. That she thought she liked him better than me but that was definitely not the case
Then we had a nice one of all of us!
On our way out we walked through the Island Mercantile. We spotted the Hanana Montana microphone headset thing that girl was wearing on the bus. Did we tell that story? If we didn't, please remind us so we can! Anyway, Brandi decided to don said microphone and Andy found a guitar to play along. I'm not sure if this is a band I'd go see....
edited to add that I just realized I wrote HANANA instead of Hannah Hanana That's what I'll call her now.....
After that we headed out of the park. Brandi was nice enough to drive us back to POFQ (thanks Brandi! !)
In the now deceased P.T. I feel honored to have ridden in it..
Yes, a moment of silence for Brandi's beloved Pooter Tooter as she called it.
Once back at the resort we relaxed for a bit, I think we took a quick nap, and then decided to just go ahead and get ready and head out to Epcot. The plan for the night was to spend our last night with Brandi and Pom in our favorite, the World Showcase.

This picture is AWESOME! Lilo peeved me off that day, I remember. She's just lucky I didn't punch her in the face...LOL! Especially after the Goofy poo incident. (Mel, I TOLD you that poop is just plain funny)
Hanana Craptana, ladies and gentlemen....Thank you, we'll NOT be here all week!

R.I.P. sweet Pooter Tooter....
I want you two to know how much I needed this. I was laughing so hard that Pom was making fun of my snorting! Ah, good times...can't wait 'til November!!

I just realized I wrote HANANA instead of Hannah Hanana That's what I'll call her now.....
Maybe you accidentally called her Hanana becasue of the yummy frozen chocolate covered banana... you think?? p.s. I am TOTALLY getting one of those!! Sounds delicious
I love that dinosaur photo! too funny...I feel like you about taking safari photos...each time it becomes less and less. Next time it might be nil considering i got better photos of the animals off my balcolny this time than i did on that safari ride!
I will have to say that flintstone vitamin story was too funny. I used to eat those too...i ate the red and purple ones they were my favs. I used also sneek and drink pepto bismol apparently when i was around 3 years old. I thought it tasted extra yummy*L* weird!
I love all your character photos...i never know what to say to them...I"m usually like " i like your clothes today" *LOL* weird and off the wall.....you guys always get such candid photos which is great!
cant wait for the next installment!
I have to remember not to have a drink in my hand (or mouth) whilst reading yourTR....I laughed so hard I started to cry! My DS asked what was funny and all I could say was, "Goofy poo"! Love it and can't wait to hear more.
What a great day at AK...love the picture on Dinosaur - you and Brandi so playing the part and Andy...well Andy just did not look like he went along with the program unless he was playing the "frightened to death in their seat" person...
Love the pictures of Lilo, Stitch, you and Brandi...too cute.
