Me, Muffin and WDW for Xmas stuff!! PTR - Page 13 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So! I have been trying so hard to be really healthy lately and have lost five pounds,so far since we've been home. Muffin is doing his own plan and has also lost five pounds. I think he just has a goal to eat better, but I am determined to lose ten more pounds by this trip! I have always been a walker, but have recently added some jogging into the mix. My son has challenged me to do not one, but two 5K's with him this fall and I am not one to shy away from a good challenge!. I am currently using the couch to 5K plan and told him that I will be ready in six weeks! I sure hope I can keep my word!! Anyway! I wanted to be accountable for myself so I thought I would post my ambitious goal here and let you guys know how it is going!!
Our plans for Day 2-December 1st
We are planning a breakfast at Boma this morning and then we will head to AK. I am hoping to spend more time here this trip as we really only had a half day here in July. I absolutely love this park when the weather is cool and I just hope it doesn't rain all week! We missed so much of this beautiful park during the summer trip. So!
Our touring plan is to hopefully get there at rope drop. Then we'll head to Kilimanjaro Safari's. We would love to just stroll around for a bit and then head over to Triceratops Top Spin and Primeval Whirl. We were unable to do these attractions or enjoy much of Dinoland this summer between Logan being too small and the heat. We would love to do the Cretaceous Trail and then get a FP for Dinosaur! Our other plans for FP's are for EE and Festival of the Lion King.
We are planning on staying until around 2PM and then heading back to AKL to enjoy the resort for a bit. I would love to do some shopping at Zawadi Marketplace and see what activities are going on in the lobby!! We have a 3:00PM late lunch/dinner ADR at Sanaa. This is another restaurant we have not been to and are really excited about!!! Then we'll just have some chill time before heading back out for the evening.
Tonight is our MVMCP night!! We can't wait to get our hot cocoa and cookies and see the snow on Main Street. We plan to get to MK around 6:00PM. We don't really care what attractions we get to ride tonight and want to just enjoy the party. We love the Christmas Parade, Holiday Wishes and the Castle at night with icicles!! We also love the characters dressed in their Christmas finery!! We don't really have an agenda, so we may stay for the whole party, we may not. We are really looking forward to this event!!
Congrats on your weight loss so far and good luck with attaining your goal of 10 more pounds by your trip! It is not easy, that's for sure. Lately, I have been using the "My fitness pal" app which is very helpful keeping track of calories and exercise. i was very diligent for 4 or 5 months and got back to where I wanted to be, but sometimes I get lax and "forget" to track what I'm eating.
Love your plans for this day! Boma and Sanaa in the same day! And then the Christmas party! Very jealous!

Thanks, Donna!!. I just figured out my Fitbit has a calorie counter on it!! I love that little thing!! It is a great motivator for me to get to 10,000 steps a day. I miss Boma so much and I can't wait to try out Sanaa!!

I that tree too, Cam!! I can't wait to try Sanaa and we are so excited about MVMCP!!
This morning, we plan to head to Epcot again whenever we get up. That being said, I still think we will get there pretty early. Sleeping in for us, especially at WDW, means 7:30ish!
We will tour a lot of Future World that we also didn't get to on our last trip. We are planning on seeing the Circle of Life movie and maybe grabbing a bite to eat at Sunshine Seasons if we haven't already at the Mara. We also plan on doing Ellen's Energy Adventure and Journey Into Imagination!. I know these are hokey, but we missed them in a weird way last time around. We also love the pavilions!! We will certainly check the lines out for both Soarin' and Test Track, but we are not counting on either one of these attractions today. We will then head over to World Showcase and really spend some time in the countries. We are going to wing lunch and we'll eat something light, maybe even just a snack, somewhere over there.
After lunch, we are planning on heading over to Hollywood Studios and spending the rest of the day there. We would love to see the Beauty and the Beast stage show and Indiana Jones this time around. We are going to try to get FP's for TSMM, Star Tours and ToT and, for dinner, this is where we keep wavering. We can't decide whether or not to just eat at the Brown Derby again, since we love it there OR just get a drink there and eat at 50's PTC OR do the Fantasmic! Dinner Package OR just totally wing it!! OR!! Maybe we'll get a nice lunch at Epcot and just snack at HS!! We have an ADR at The Brown Derby for dinner for now, but I'm not sold on it at this point. I am open to suggestions!!
Since this park closes at 8:00PM tonight, we are going to see how we feel. If we have enough energy, we may head over to MK, which is open until midnight. If we have had enough for the day, we will just head back to AKL and relax!
Next: Our plans for Day 4-December 3rd

congrats on the weight loss. keep up the great work. can't wait to hear about the 5K. I'd love to see how the training of couch to 5K goes as I have been thinking about that myself.
