Is Belle a Disney Character? September 2015 PTR - Page 13 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

It was a fantastic time, and I will do a mini-TR on it, but not until after I go with Mom!!

It’s so exciting! I really wanted to give Mom that exciting feeling, which is why I had them sent to her. She didn’t seem as excited over the Magicbands as she did the luggage tags though But I love her anyway!
Sorry for a lack of update since my mini-weekend trip! Things have been crazy busy at work with switching over to some new software, so I’ve had my hands full lately. I was also completely EXHAUSTED from the parks, and jumped right back into my 5am workouts and nutrition meal plans, and was in bed by 8pm every night. Woof! If you want to follow along on my weight loss journey, my small blog is #TheRevolution #MyRevolution -- I try to update once a week.
I am now finally rejuvenated though, and can tell you that we have THE BEST WEEKEND EVER at Disney together. I’ve got notes from each day, but have decided that I’m not going to write my mini-TR, until after I go to Disney with Mom, and get my notes all together from that. I’ll have all my Memory Maker photos by then too, so the mini-TR will seem more “complete”
I will tell you that we are planning a trip of the 4 of us (Chryselle, her boys Keegan and Jacob, and I) for hopefully next year, if not early in 2017.
Back on track with what’s been going on Disney-wise!
I talk to Mom every morning before work. Towards the end of last week, she was telling me she was getting out some dresses to wear to our Signature Dinners! I was pretty sure there were 3, but she decided to confirm that on the spreadsheet I sent her! YAY DISNEY SPREADSHEET!!! She happened to already have 3 dresses picked out, so she was ready to go! It’s my understanding she’s started packing some other things too.
Meanwhile, I have not packed a single thing yet! I have ideas in my mind, like my workout clothes because they were SO COMFORTABLE when I wore them for the weekend getaway, or my poncho because the forecast says it’s an 80% chance of rain everyday thus far (I know, two weeks away so things could change a lot between now and then!). I’m planning on packing Monday, as I have Labor Day off and I don’t think Josh or my roommate Robin will be home. Then it will be a short 4 day work week until packing the car for Disney again!
On the changing ADRs front (what, you didn’t think I changed anything? That was just silly of you ) I was taking a look at all the menus of our restaurants, and noticed that at 1900 Park Fare, they no longer serve the Lobster Eggs Benedict, and that it has been changed to just a regular Eggs Benedict. I was not ok with this
The other thing I noticed was that nowhere in my plans, was a restaurant where I could have a burger and fries. Let me just be real – This trip is somewhat of a “reward” at the end of a couple diet challenges I’m doing. Am I going to completely splurge and go wild with food? No. I actually plan on eating somewhat healthy for the majority of the trip (ie. Getting a strawberry/banana smoothie from Pop every morning to take back to my room and mix my protein powder into, having coconut oil in my coffee, and trying to have minimal gluten and dairy products). But I do want to have SOME of my favorite things, and burgers and fries is one of them.
So I dropped 1900 PF and tried to get Sci-Fi instead. Well it wasn’t available. But 50’s Prime Time was. So I grabbed that for lunch on Friday, and dropped it from dinner on Tuesday. I was able to snag Sci-Fi for dinner on Tuesday, so all is well and I will have a Build-Your-Own-Angus Chuck Burger with Cheddar Cheese, American Cheese, Mushrooms, Bacon, Onion Rings, and Barbecue Sauce

You sound like you are doing awesome on your program Mel!! That being said, I do the same thing. On vacation, I eat what I want. I don't pig out or overindulge, but if I want a Dole Whip, I get a Dole Whip!! Enjoy that burger!! It sounds delicious!!

I actually think that Dole Whips might be on the "better for you" side of the scale! I'm really enjoying the program and intend to make it a lifetime change

Thank you, I definitely need the luck! I've been a terrible procrastinator lately!!
Today, Mom and I are doing a single digit dance as we are just 9 days away!
I was going through my Facebook profile and came across when I was just 8 days away from the mini-trip with Chryselle. To think that it will be 8 days again tomorrow is completely un-real to me. I must say that I am grateful that I am able to go twice in such a short period of time, even if the time before was only a weekend.
I'm looking forward to going shopping this weekend for more park clothes (aka workout clothes) and some comfortable jean capris or shorts. I'm also considering a new bathing suit, as you can't have too many of those when you live in Florida anyway. Hopefully they will be on sale for the end of the summer!
Nothing else new to report. I've been trying to switch our BOG breakfast to lunch, but with no luck yet. I have a feeling it might happen as the date approaches though. Going for lunch will just work better with our nutrition schedule. If/when that change happens, you can be sure that I will post it Unless of course I'm already in Disney!
