PTR....Universal Adventures of Dreams and an Expanding world part 2 - Page 13 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Yay, I love Southwest credits! Southwest is the best! I just wish the credits lasted longer than one year from the original purchase date.
I do too. I am really hoping I can get a few more and justify an early quick trip somehwere late winter (Jan-March)

Thanks. I use a Canon 50D. I shoot in manual. the best shots need to be on a tripod with long exposures. The ones from out town, I propped the camera on my car roof trying ot steady it and shot them each for about 4 seconds or so...give or take.
The ones from my parents I did use a tripod and a remote shutter release to keep less movement..again about 4 second shots or so.
This is our last full day at Disney. Boo Hoo! But I have another full day planned. At this point in time the park of choice for the day is Epcot.
I think we will spend the whole day here, unless we decide there is something we have missed at another park.
We will be having lunch at Via Napoli at 12:45.
I am excited to finally try this place out. I have heard mixed reviews...but I think we'll like it. I'm sure it will be much more food than we need. I have even thought about just paying out of pocket to just get a pizza for both of us to share, but most likely I will use the plan.
I hope to explore some and get any last rides done.
Once we tire we will head back to AoA and freshen up and change our clothes. We have another new dinner to try this evening...Spirit of Aloha at 8 PM. Again I hear mixed reviews on this one, but I thought it was time to give it a try and see what we think about it. I hear so many talk about the wonderful bread....I'm not sure I will like it though, as I hear it's a coconut bread. I'm not much of a fan of coconut at all. But I will give it a try to see if it's something I might like. I hope the show keeps Claire's interest. I have read some find it boring, while others just love every bit of it. Claire does like to see shows of different types, so this may be a hit with her. After the show we will make our way back to AoA and get our last nights rest on property..(unless I can somehow think of a way to stay longer. )....

I'll be interested to hear your review of the Spirit of Aloha show, as that's one we've never seen. I didn't know there was coconut bread... I love coconut!!
Thanks.. Most likely things will not completely happn as planned, but this gives me a guideline at least.

Yesterday was our 10 year anniversary. We didn't do anything special really. Very anti climatic. I know so many people who go all out...not my husband. It was just another day. We did go out to dinner to a favorite spot and Claire joined us. And when we got home, he headed out to the barn because his buddy was over and didn't come in till 11. It was fine though as I did some catching up on the computer then! :thumbsup2 10 years ago yesterday...and 50 pounds lighter!
Day 13 ~ Nov. 14 It's time to go home. Boy that is so sad. But we still have half a day left. Our flight doesn't leave till 5:55 PM, so we won't have to catch ME till around 3.
Speaking of flights, that flight lowered in cost again today. Not much, but I made the adjustment, and it was booked with points, so I got points refunded to may account and those don't have to be used by Claire, which is nice.
I currently have 7 day tickets with my package, so we could go to a park this day. But I am thinking that maybe it would be best to just hang out and let Claire get a last dose of swimming and relax. We could also go to DTD if we wanted to. But the bus system going to and from is always so slow. I am really thinking that we just might stay put at AoA and not go anywhere. I still have time to decided and I may just make my ticket a 6 day one and save a few bucks.
It really is going to be a long 13 days and Claire will be so tired, and I am sure I will be too at that point. If we could walk to a park, then I might think differently, but at AoA we will be relying on bus systems to get us anywhere.
We will check in our bags in the morning, but keep a carry on with essentials in it.
So around 3 we will head off to the airport.
I'm sure security will be a mad house at that time. It was last year at least when I left late in the day. We'll probably try to grab a bite to eat to take on the plane.
Hopefully we have an uneventful flight, and I am hoping Claire falls asleep too.
We arrive back at around 8:05 PM. My sister is going to pick us up.
I now need to decide if I want to drive another 2 1/2 hours home (I know Skip will be anxious to see us) or spend the night and go back in the morning. Ideally I will drive home and get to bed, let Claire sleep in and take her for a half day of school the next day. But I am wondering how tired I will be and if I really should spend the night at my sisters again and just drive home Thursday morning. She actually invited us to stay the whole weekend, but there is no way we would do that.
It might be something I decide that night. I know I'll want to get home, but I don't want to be falling asleep while driving either.
And then the depression will set in. The after Disney blues. I'm sure it will take a few days to get caught up on sleep and back to lifes routines. And at that point, I won't have a clue when I'll be back again. I have been very fortunate the last 2 years to have traveled so much, but I am not sure what 2013 holds for us, if anything. That is the most depressing part about a trip ending.....for us, we usually don't know when we'll go again.
But I will be reliving all the fun (and I sure a few not so fun times) with a Trip report...that I guess will take me a year to complete, going by the current rate it is taking me to write my most recent one.
Well even if it does take you a year to write, that's OK. We'll all be here to read it. And Since I won't be heading to the world until the earliest 2014 I'll need some Disney fix in 2013.

I know...with no future plans right now...at least I can relive the trip and pretend I am there each day!
