The "I-can't-think-of-a-cool-catchy-title-for-this-PTR" PTR - Page 13 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I love MVMCP, I hope you guys enjoy it too! I love Christmas and all the decorations. I am a little sad that it was so cold last Dec when we were there, that I didn't really get to enjoy the atmosphere as much as I would have liked.
5 days and you will be in the bubble!
Hey the Disney store has some really cute Mickey christmas shirts and sweatshirts out right now. Perfect for let's say a christmas card photo taken right in front of the castle. Have to throw on a nice red scarf too.....love scarfs, who cares if it's going to be 80 degrees.
We loved MVMCP! I hope you guys do too. What's not to love right?
I so badly want to do a KP mission too, that seems like so much fun, next year!!
Arnaud's favorite part of Rockin Rollercoaster is the launch, he love's watching people's faces in the cars as well as watching the poeple's faces in line watching the people shoot off. I have yet to experience this nonsense
Just catching back up! Love your plans for AK and Epcot! I'm hoping to do the Behind the Seeds tour next June, so I'll be anxious to hear what you all think about it. I'm hoping it will keep Stefanie's attention for the 1 hour.
I'm so excited for you!!! Your countdown says "1 week until Back to the Beach Club".....:the wave:
Great plans!! We really love LTT and hope to get back there again someday!
It says less than that now!! We leave in 5 days!!!

Your Epcot day sounds great, I'd love to do the Behind the Seeds Tour someday MVMCP is going to be a blast! Sure, a little strange to be celebrating Christmas already, but fun none the least! I'm a little worried about the crowds too, you'll have to let me know how they are since will be at the party the day after yours.
Oh, I emailed special diets about the cookies at the party and they said that the Main Street Bakery will have allergy friendly snacks on hand. It said they would have prepackaged cookies by Divvies and French Meadow. Maybe one of those will be safe for the boys.
The costumes are finally done. I finished them yesterday at about 11:30pm because they needed them for a town Halloween party today. I'll post pictures after tomorrow.

And I forgot to mention after your Sunday plans post that the Daylight Savings time change is overnight Saturday, so you'll all get an extra hour of sleep! That should make getting up for CMC much easier. I just love getting an extra hour of vacation! When I was working the overnight shift I always had an extra hour of work, which was not so nice.
I am hoping the crowds stay low. Although, the only other parties we've been to have bee MNSSHP 'on' Halloween which I imagine are the busiest of all of the Halloween parties, so maybe the crowds won't seem big to us anyway.

Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love all the decorations. I think I'm looking forward to the castle lights the most.

OK, this time next week...................YEAH!!!
I'll have to stop in the Disney store tomorrow. I have a great green scarf...maybe I'll ge me a red t-shirt and wear that. I Love scarves too! We had so much fun doing the KP missions. We did two of them which is good so we've got some new ones to try this time.
This time next week we'll be coming back from our ride on Splash (with goggles)

Believe me when I tell you that the 1 hour timeframe made it doable for us. Jason has the attention span of a flea. But if there are ladybugs involved, we should be able to get him focused...at least for that part.

Today will be our second DHS day…the first for Zach…so we want to make sure he gets on TSMM, RcRC and Tot, which are three of his favorites. So, again we will try to aim for getting there as close to RD as possible. And if the boys haven’t done Jedi yet, we can try for today. Of course I’ll try to drag everyone back to AA for another picture for our collection. And maybe we’ll try the backlot tour today. Haven’t done that in ages and ages. Also, the boys are excited to see Lightening McQueen in the new LMA show, so we’ll try to make that as well.
We have lunch plans today at 50’s Prime Time. I just love the meatloaf there and the chocolate shakes are fabulous!! Plus the little TVs help with keeping ansty little boys occupied during the meal.
Later on we plan on hitting Epcot for evening EMH…sticking mostly to the FW rides…and seeing Illuminations. Then of course we’ll take that wonderful walk back to our hotel. I’m excited for Zach to walk to Epcot for the first time.
On the to-do list front, I did get a couple of thing crossed off today. I booked Craig's rental car for when he goes to get Zach. It's so great that he only has to walk over to the Dolphin to pick it up. I pre-ordered our photo pass CD and I also placed our Garden Grocer order. I need to make sure I've got some things I'm sure Jason can eat for breakfast and snack on in the room. I also emailed the BC and asked for a special room cleaning which they will do for medical conditions such as asthma.
I also finally finished the boys Halloween costumes and we attended the town party today. Thank goodness we did, because school has been cancelled tomorrow because of the SNOW!! Well, actually becasue of the downed trees and powerlines and the traffic lights that are out all over town. They can't run the bus routes so, a snow day on Halloween! Who would have thought?? Yeah, we drove home yesterday from getting new luggage at the mall in a blizzard!! Anyway, it actually works for me because the boys will go to my mother's and then after work I can maybe get my toiletries shopping done and maybe a mani-pedi.
Trivia:
- Storm-a-long Bay holds 750,000 gallons of water making it the largest sand bottom pool in the world. (And we can’t wait to swim there)
This snow is crazy! I'm just glad it came this weekend instead of holding off for flying out on Friday. Never thought I'd have to worry about snow problems for a trip at this time of year. You really checked a lot off the list!
50's PT is definitely on my list of places to eat. We're going to hit DHS next time, because I think Meri is ready for ToT... she's mastered BTMRR and Splash Mtn, and I think she'll be able to handle ToT by the time we go back... lol! So that said, we'll hit Sci Fi for lunch and 50's PT for dinner!
I'm really excited to read your TR - you guys have some great things going on during your trip! And if Jason gets antsy during the Behind the Seeds tour, text me, and I'll just continually text him photos of Meri doing random silly things or whatever. That'll keep him amused, if nothing else. LOL! Seriously, though, I can't wait for your review so I can see how he does. If he can do it, I'll attempt it with Meri, because mom would LOVE it!
Can't believe you have a snow day on Halloween AND that you're leaving in just a few short days!!!
