The Overtakers are in Qahoots. FIRST WILD RIDE 15SEP2011-18SEP2011 - 01DEC2011 Updated - Page 13 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Know exactly how feel about WDW and WDW in Sep. never again from now on its late Aug to mid Nov for us
Wasn't Star tours a blast. Everytime we went by the sign said 5 min so Lucille would tell me where to meet her and send me off for another trip. Did it like 4 times and will still do it a whole bunch more
CAUTION SPOILER ALERT. IF YOU HAVEN'T RIDDEN STAR TOURS YET>>>don't ready any further.
Star Tours was awesome. WH and PW rode it on Saturday morning too...and they got a different ride...so now we are going to ride it was much as we can in January...to see if we can get all the different sequences.
They got one where a Wookie slid down the window of the speeder...so Now...I must ride it again and again!!!

I was exhausted after running all night the night before for MNSSHP. So I can't believe I missed it...now it's a goal for January. Get as many ride sequences as possible...especially the Wookie one.
We finally get to our next Destination. Downtown Disney.
First stop was the rest rooms and then we wandered into the Art of Disney store. We could all spend too much money in there if we weren't careful....so we headed out of there pretty quickly.
We stopped at the Pin store and WH and PW got some special collector pins for 2011 that they were looking for especially.
DH bought a new cell phone case for his Iphone 4G at World of Disney Store..using our AP discount. He'd broke his case a few days before and didn't want to be carrying his phone around without a protective case. He got the Big Donald duck one which was entirely appropriate.
We meandered through World of Disney for a while...and I even got PW to try on a hat/head band as you saw in our previous post.
Then....we headed back outside...and what do I see...but Maleficent...my favorite villain of all time...preserved in Legos.
So....WH got a variety of pictures for me...but I picked this one to show you guys...because there I am in front of it...to give you an idea of the sheer size of those Lego sculptures.
We meandered into the Lego store....which was very tempting too. Will someone please let Santa know...that I want the Death Star Lego set...DH says it's out of his budget!!! LOL.
So we meandered around the corner to Fresh-A-Peel.
I was dying of thirst after battling a water/pop dispenser at the Caribbean beach resort bus stop...before it finally told me it had nothing left to dispense.
So we headed inside. I got a Watermelon Sangria sample...which was awesome. But since we were on travel day and I was dosed with meds...I decided to inhale a Diet Coke while DH had a Budlight. PW and WH just watched us...they were waiting for our next stop.
So I updated my phone and updated the trip report in my notebook before we headed off for our next stop.
We walked slowly around the corner and arrived at our destination at 6pm. We had 6:30 ADRs for Raglan Road...but they were able to already seat us.
They lead us pretty close to the stage and bar...and they took DDP and so we were happy to start out our ADR dining experiences here.
3 of us ordered the Serious Steak and 1 (WH) had the Mixed Grill.
Serious Steak:
Mixed Grill:
DH ordered a Stella Artois, PW had a Lambic (Belgian Lady's beer which is awesome if you ever get the chance), and WH ordered the Stout Sam Adam's Imperial whiskey (Chocolate coffee flavor with slight citrus overtones) Thumbs up from WH.
They brought us out soda bread with Guinness Honey reduction in olive oil.
Soon...Na Finna was out to perform at 7pm. Now ladies...you must make the time to see Na Finna at Raglan Road if they are still there.
PW and I were crushing on them the whole time. It also helped that their Irish Dancer, Courtney was beautiful and kept DH and WH occupied. We all agreed though that we wouldn't want to sit close to her stage...because it looked like she could kick you in the head at any moment.
Some of the crowd was from Tipperary, Ireland...and so they joined in with the dancing and it was very fun. One of the performers was named Danny...and I just kept thing Oh Danny Boy...I'm still hot and bothered by how cute they were. There was John, Lee and I can't remember the 4th guy.
So for dessert...I had the Dunbrody Kiss...which is a definite A+ from me.
Then DH ordered the Bread Pudding with Butterscotch sauce and Creme Anglaise. Sorry people...DH and PW devoured it soo quickly I didn't get any picks. They gave it a big A+ and DH still mentions how it was the best bread pudding.
By 7:45 we'd sorted out our bills and at 7:55 the band had come back on after a break.
The best song they sang in my opinion was hilarious: The Longer you Live, the sooner you bloody well Die!!!
They sang a song for the Tipperary people and even an elderly lady came out and started dancing.
It was soo much fun and I recommend an evening here to everybody.
Then as we excited the restuarant we stopped in the gift shop and bought a "Lewis" heraldic pin for DH.
So we headed back towards the bus and stopped at Ghirardelli on the way. WH bought a tin with some very dark chocolate bars in it that he wanted to try. He was really tickled with his purchase and has said that some of them were scrumptious.
As the rest of us waited on WH...we saw a CM in cleaning uniform drawing with a tied up broom stick and some water on the pavement. Here was Donald:
And he also did a Goofy. It was neat but some people weren't watching and would walk right through the drawings...which he would have to fix. But DTD was definitely getting crowded and busy.
Goofy:
I was also tickled to see this fancy Ursula costume in one of the store windows:
I love me some Villains!!!
So then we headed out to the Bus Stop again...there was some confusion as to which bus stop to use again...which totally surprises me...because usually we can find our buses easy.
By 9:00 we were on the bus to GF and WL and listening to some Native flute music. This Native American...was very happy.
Then by 9:40 we were in our room and unpacked. Tomorrow...will be the big day of the trip. MNSSHP....stay tuned to see what we were able to fit into the party!!!
Did Cheeser get her Villain fix??? Did WH get some fabulous shots??? Did PW get her autographs???
I've resized them on Photobucket...so I'm not sure why they are showing up so large when I look at them in my post. Hopefully that will correct itself...because I know the sizing is correct on the linked photo on Photobucket.
NaFinna...was definitely great. The food was fabulous...and PW could not finish her last little tipple of Lambic...so I had to take one for the team and guzzle it down. Yum...Raspberry Lambic....made this girl a happy camper. Probably explained why I had problems finding the right stop at the bus stop. At least that is my story and I'm sticking to it...the rest of them...each had whole drinks...meds and Lambic...my excuse.
I'm definitely putting Raglan Road on our list of possible restaurants for next June. The food and entertainment both look great! I'm ready to try that Serious Steak.
