”Really……you are ALL named Lisa???”……… - Page 13 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

After leaving MK, we headed back to BWV………where the plan was to drop off the car and put our purchases in the room and head over to Epcot………..BUT it was HOT!!! And we had been going, going, going……………and I was HOT!!!! So I made the executive decision that we needed to take a short break and head to the pool to cool off and refresh ourselves!!!! And besides…….I was ready for an adult beverage!!
So they both agreed (Thank you!!!) and we quickly changed into our suits and headed down to the pool with adult beverages and just relaxed in the pool for about 30-45 minutes………..and I have to say I was actually surprised that we did not get in “trouble” here……….as we had our “drinks” on the pool side……..however, they were the refillable Disney mugs……….and we were only told that we couldn’t drink them “over” the pool…….we needed to make sure the drinks stayed over the cement! (I remember Tracy (eldobans) referring to a life guard telling her that she couldn’t have a drink in the pool! And I have been told that before as well)………maybe it’s a good idea to put your drink in the refillable mug all the time!!! LOL!
I felt so much better after this little break and was rip roaring and ready to go again!!! (I think they felt better too!)
Now it was time to shower and freshen up and head to Epcot for our Coral Reef ADR’s!!!
More hopefully later today (having issues with computer at work........will have to do from home!)

Feeling so MUCH better…………we left BWV and walked over to Epcot (I just love being able to enter in the back way!).
Of course, we stopped for the photopass photographer on the bridge between France and UK for photo ops (those will be added later!)!
We then had to head to Coral Reef for our ADR’s……….neither Lisa # 1 or # 3 had ever eaten here before………….Lisa # 1 is the plain Jane eater of the group………but they were both anxious to try it out!
We were sat in the upper section……….which was kind of a bummer, as I would have loved to sit down near the tanks, but oh well – we still had a great view – and we had a FABULOUS server!!! Gosh- I can’t remember her name – but she was SO AWESOME!!!!
We had quite the feast here…………..
Starting out with some YUMMY adult beverages !!!
Then some Appetizers………..
Lisa # 1 had the Caesar Salad………..
Lisa # 3 and I shared the Crab Cakes! YUM!!!!!!!!!! (oops, forgot to take a photo! guess we just dove right in!)
Then dinner was ahhhhhh…………..so yummy!!!
I had the Grilled Mahi Mahi ~ although they have changed it a bit, and it no longer has the cashews that it used to have – but it was still delish!
Lisa # 3 had the Mushroom Phyllo Crisp:
Lisa # 1 had the Grilled New York Strip:
Dinner was fabulous!!! We did pass on dessert ~ as I had other plans for that!!!
We paid our bill ~ which by the way with the TIW discount for the apps, dinner, and 4 adult beverages (someone had a 2nd ~ can’t remember who?) the total with tip was $136.44 ~ not too bad for that type of meal! (I am really beginning to like the freedom of TIW and no DDP!)
After leaving Coral Reef, we walked over to take a ride on a clam-mobile with Nemo & Friends! Such a cute ride!! Love it every time!
Then we headed straight to Spaceship Earth ~ as no visit to Epcot is complete without a ride on here! I had to laugh at Lisa #3 ~ she sat behind Lisa # 1 and I and she chose to listen to the ride in Portuguese!!! She is Portuguese or as I like to call her “Port-lish” and it was quite comical trying to “listen” to it and make out what they were saying!
Of course I was thoughtful enough to get pics of Lisa # 1 and I ~ however, apparently Lisa # 3 was too focused on her “other” language and missed the boat on that one ~ so no pics of her !
Next up was a walk around World Showcase! I had a mission here! It was a bummer that it was too late to find any characters around World Showcase (this is one of my favorite things to do ~ finding the characters in their respective countries) – but oh well – we were still having fun!
Funny little side note here: we ran into a group of girls that we having a bachelorette party ~ “touring” around the world………….lets just say ~ I don’t think that Bride-to-be will remember anything from that night!!!
So my mission was to visit Germany………………for some YUMMY caramel!!!!
Aw man – it was sooooooooooooooo hard to make a decision here!!!! I am usually a BIG fan of caramel apples while at the world (I have TMJ, and I LOVE how they will slice it for you ~ makes it so much more enjoyable ~ and I don’t “pay” for it later!) so it was REALLY hard to pass those up, but I knew I had to try something different! (Besides I will be back there very soon to grab one of those apples!)
So we ended up with:
Vanilla Cupcake with Caramel frosting!
And a brownie covered with caramel!!!
We all 3 shared each and OMG!!! I was in caramel heaven!!!!! They were quite rich – but OH SO delish!!!!
Aw man………..I am drooling again just thinking about them…………think I might be spending A LOT of time there on my next trip !!!!
After our “caramel high” we continued through the remainder of World Showcase taking in the sights while we walked ~ and then decided we needed to head back over to DHS (we got some MAJOR park hopping done on this trip!) to try to get onto TSM!
So onto the boat we went!
Arrived at DHS about 25 minutes later ~ and went straight back to TSM ~ wait time was showing 30 minutes – it was almost exactly that! And I have to admit – that was my first time ever going through the Stand by que! And apparently – I missed Mr. Potato Head ~ I was so bummed as I have NEVER seen him – they had him covered for some reason? But the wait time still went by pretty quickly as there was so much to look at/photograph along the way!
Lisa # 2 and I rode together ~ while Lisa # 3 was by herself! I believe on this round Lisa # 1 won! We got off and got right back in line ~ it was again about 30 minutes ~ but we didn’t care at this point – it was sooooooo much fun! Second time around ~ I rode with Lisa # 3 ~ man is she competitive (cuz I am so not……LOL!) and Lisa # 1 rode by herself ~ I believe I won this round!
After our TSM fun it was close to closing time, so we started heading out ~ and of course stopped in the shops along the way for some retail therapy!
Now it was time to head back to the room (which I have to say here – that if you are staying at BWV, it is much quicker to get off the boat at Swan & Dolphin and walk back to BWV!) to start packing and finish off the adult beverages in the room ~ as we were going to be leaving tomorrow evening .
Up next: Star Wars and More!
