I Don’t Wanna Grow Up – 30th Birthday Trip x2, August 7-11, 2010 - Page 13 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Just got caught up, Kelly. Dylan looks adorable with his new haircut--how grown-up he's getting! So nice that you and Mike will have a trip together before you're a family of four!
I love your little baby bump! Not much of a difference between the two pregnancies, but you always hear people saying that you really pop out with the second one...you still look so tiny!
It looks like Dylan can see so much better with that haircut! I wish I knew how to do that myself, it would save a ton of money and time if I could just cut Hope's bangs! I'm trying to get her to grow the back out, so putting her in the car to get her bangs cut for like 3 minutes is just a pain in the butt! He looks adorable though.
Thanks for saying I still look tiny!! That makes me feel SO much better! Overall, I think it has been about the same as with Dylan - I almost look bigger with Dylan. I think I even noticed I was wearing my wedding ring on a necklace - haven't had to do that yet with this one.
I've cut his bangs and around his ears, but when an overall cut is needed I'm just not fast enough. I cut Mike's hair at home, so spending some $$ on Dylan every once in a while is worth it! We've gotten his haircut at MK every trip he's been on - you should take Hope there on your next trip!

Hi Laurie! I was so happy to see a comment from you! He is definitely getting big!

You look wonderful by the way, and you remind me of when I was pregnant with Skyler being little. Goodluck with both your Doctors appointments. Great trivia. How sweet of Cam to send you the barcode for the SWW Shirt for you to try getting Mike. I hope you're able to get it for him. How awesome Dylan is getting his own Big Boy Bed and Room. Yay for Dylan again. Sounds like it was a great weekend for you.
Thanks Becki! Maybe I'll post some pics of Dylan's new room once it's done.

So I heard back from AKL IPO about the SWW shirt and this is the response I got:
"I have arranged with the Store manager at Tattooine Traders to call me on Saturday to arrange the purchase of the Tee Shirt. They will only sell them during the actual Star Wars Weekends. She will send it to the resort and we will hold it until you arrive to be put in the room. "
I LOVE the AKL IPO!!!! And thanks so much to Cam for sending me the SKU # and I'm glad that there is still one weekend left for the SW activities! Now I just hope I can keep this secret until we arrive!!!
Way to go IPO!! (whatever that is ) for making Disney magic for you and Mike! Dylan looks absolutely adorable, and very happy, after his haircut. See, I told you haircuts would get better with time. And you look adorable and in no way 'big' yet that is When I was pregnant with Tyler, one of the partners I work with told me I should sell advertising space on the side of my belly.
I should really be starting one of my own though, as it's now less than two weeks till we leave to spend a week in Austria for my own 30th birthday (June 24). Much as I'd love to be spending it in the World, I'm hoping this will be a good alternative...I'm sure it will be, there's a free cake buffet every afternoon in our hotel!!
I'll look forward to catching up with your countdown when we get back and I'm once again plunged into the post-vacation blues...

Isn't it amazing how different they look after a hair cut, I swear Sam looks older after his. We got his done this past week, his hair grows so fast! You look so cute! And so cool about the SWW shirt! What a great idea!

How great they're going to get you a T-shirt for Mike and hold it at AKV for you! You really do look tiny though! Please post a picture or two if you're up to it of Dylan's room. I told Skyler last night that I want to get him his own big boy bed, but that requires him to sleep in his own bed and not climb out of his toddler bed and come into bed with us.

I so wish our trips would coincide maybe next year right?
I am excited for this little mini trip...it will help me look forward to the big one
So, I was thinking you look smaller with this one than with Dylan at the same time My sister in law used to send me her pics of stages of pregnancy and I just think its so cute! I think you still look very small compared to how very pregnant you are right now
I agree and cannot believe how different Dylan looks with a hair cut! OMG and I'm so glad he was chill with getting that haircut.
How awesome is AKL??? right?? I am so psyched to stay there in sept...that's why I'm counting down to your trip first LOL vicarious living right?
Thats so cool that the IPO is gonna help you out on the shirt. What a great surprise for Mike (shhhhh!!!)! And way to go Cam for getting the SKU for you!
Good to hear the picnic went well and it wasn't unbearable for you.
Dylan's new do is cute but he is always a cutie! AND you look great! Hope the doctor appointments go well.
I did go ahead a book an October trip with my DM. We are definately going to MNSSHP and the F&WF is going on too while we are there, YAY!
